Find Adele’s “25” on Freegal
British songstress Adele is breaking records left and right with her latest release, “25.” Among her accomplishments: unseating Beyoncé as the artist with the fastest selling album in iTunes history.
But she’s also making headlines for not allowing her album to be streamed on services like Spotify, Rhapsody and Apple Music. You’ll only be able to purchase the album, either online or in the store (do people still buy CDs?).
Luckily for you, as a Kent District Library patron you’ve got access to Freegal, our digital music service, which does carry Adele’s “25.” Log in with your library card number. Freegal lets you stream up to three hours of music a month. Even more exciting: You can legally download up to five songs a week from the Freegal library! That includes Adele’s smash single “Hello,” not to mention past hits like “Rolling In The Deep” and “Someone Like You.” With these mp3s, you can listen to Adele to your heart’s content.
Freegal’s library includes thousands of artists, tens of thousands of albums and millions of songs. The content comes from 28,000 music labels, including big-name ones like Sony Music Entertainment. It also has mobile apps from the iTunes App Store and the Google Play Store.

Study Rooms
Need a secluded place to hit the books before that big exam? How about tweaking an upcoming presentation before showing it to a live audience? Perhaps you have a weekly tutoring session which requires some private space? All of these tasks and more can be accomplished in the study rooms housed at many KDL branches!
Besides our welcoming large spaces, where we shelve the collection and offer circulation and reference services, 15 of KDL’s 18 branches also offer some sort of study rooms or quiet reading areas. These free rooms are excellent places for individuals or small groups to accomplish whatever it is that needs doing. One patron even commented that “studying and writing in coffee shops can be distracting and costly. I have loved using the private study rooms available at … KDL because they are free, secure, and quiet.”
So feel free to stop in, talk to one of our staff members, get a room and get busy!
