EXCERPT!
"The office is closed. I have to wait until morning." He leaned in through the opened window on Lola's side of the car."Morning? We have to sleep in the car again?" Nausea sloshed around her insides. As wonderful as it was sleeping on top of Dante all night, she really preferred to be somewhere more comfortable and warm."Well, we could always get a room." He motioned behind them at the rundown motel. She peered over at the gloomy row of rooms. "The car sounds nice," Lola immediately replied."Adventure, remember?""Diseases, remember?"
"Come on, Lola. You're not supposed to be acting like Paris Hilton anymore."She groaned aloud. "Did you have to say Hilton? Now, I can only think about where we aren't."Dante laughed. "Well if you want, you can sleep in the car and I'll sleep in the room and we can both stretch out and be miserable."Lola looked up at him, losing herself in his beautiful brown eyes. "You're really going to get a room?" The gears started to turn in her head. Suddenly the thought of the fleabag motel didn't seem as bad. If Dante would in the same bed, the possibilities were endless."Perfect gentleman, I swear," he promised holding up retreating hands."Sure," she agreed, hoping the gentleman part was an option.Dante disappeared into the store and in a matter of moments, emerged with a key.Butterflies swarmed her stomach. Thank you, Cadillac!

Weekend Dirty Dozen
Here's a blast from the past!!
I've been out of the loop, so to speak, with my Weekend Dirty Dozen posts due to insanity, I suppose! Although I have a Christmas novella releasing in a few days, I've decided to offer this week's sweet morsel of naughtiness from my backlist!! Why? Because if I give you anymore goodies from the novella, you won't have to buy it. You will have already seen most of it. That's the downside of writing novellas. :-)
Anyway, here's something yummy from the last book in my Blood Hunter series, The Return!!
Raven Prince, a vampire, and ThorneAbbott, her human lover, have endured secrets, lies and even murder. The onlytask remaining is for Thorne to become a vampire as well. Eternity never lookedso good.
Haunted by the shame of desertinghis first true love, Jason Craft, became a hunter of his own kind. Broughttogether on a mission of revenge, he found sanctuary in the arms of JazmineFabré and together they uncovered a startling truth.
Jason, now an enemy of the VampireLord for whom he'd been employed, sets out to save the coven he's beencommissioned to eradicate, which leads straight to the woman he left behindthirty years before, Raven Prince.
Will fate lead them to where theywere meant to be? Or will evil forces destroy them all?
Sometimes the only way to getsomething right is to go back to where it all went wrong.
Dirty Dozen: (In this scene, hero, Jason Craft recalls the night he met a famous vampire/Hoodoo Priestess, Nanette whom he knew in New Orleans at the turn of the 20th century)
Jason braced as her hand cupped his crotch.
"Tell me, boy, what's it like sellin' ya'self to those rich ol' ladies up in that fancy hotel?"
A sickening swill sloshed in his stomach. "I don't sell myself, I provide a service." He hated the idea of being considered a male prostitute. In his mind, the things he did were an act of kindness and he was merely rewarded for the favor. It was the only way he could stomach it.
"They satisfy you?" She leaned in, pressing her hand against his chest.
"Y—yes."
Her brows lifted high. "You lie." She laughed then whispered in his ear. "We all lie, boy. Makes the bad taste in ya' mouth a little bit sweeter."
If you haven't started the Blood Hunter Series... NOW is your chance, just in time for Christmas!!!Find me at eXtasy Books:

My dad and Jack Daniels Balls
Growing up in Texas, I learned early on that there are FOUR men in this world you can always count on... Captain Morgan, Jim Beam, Jack Daniels and dear ol' Dad!! Though none have ever let me down, three of the four have prevented me from getting up!
Texans just love our libations!!
Christmas at our house was festive even in the lean times. Part of that holiday spirit was inspired by a completely different spirit... one of the distilled variety!!
My dad has made "Whiskey Balls" pretty much every year since I was a little more than a gleam in his eye and let me tell ya', that's a lotta years and a lotta balls!
I thought I would share his recipe with you today, although he rarely measures. He's one of those talented cooks who can "eyeball" just about anything and still get it right!
Hope you enjoy!!
Jack Daniels Whiskey Balls
2 cups toasted chopped pecans 1 (12 ounce) box vanilla wafers, finely crushed (about 2 3/4 cup)2 cups confectioners' sugar, plus additional for rolling cookies1/2 cup cocoa 1/4 cup corn syrup 1/2 cup Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey
Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Blend well with hands.Form into 1-inch balls rolling dough between hands. Roll in confectioners'sugar. Store in airtight container.
Thought I would share some real pics of my dear ol' dad, Robert, from Christmases past!!
This is my dad, and my little brother, Danial. Christmas 2010
My youngest daughter, Crystal, loves her Paw Paw!! Christmas 2010
And last but not least, my oldest son, Brandon, showing his comedic personality while sitting in Paw Paw Santa's lap!! I think he got a bag full of switches last year!!
Hope you all enjoy your holidays!!
Yep, he looks just like my dad!!!

Love Triangles and the Diva's in the middle!!
From the dawn of time, nothing can be more gut wrenching than being torn between two lovers. Cleopatra's messy triangle included Julius Caesar and Marc Anthony and we all know how that one turned out. She made a complete asp out of herself!!
Guinevere had King Arthor and Lancelot eating out of the palm of her hand and let me tell you this, whether it was fact or fiction is beside the point, Lady Guinevere had more power than Merlin ever imagined!!Yes, this has been a typical romantic notion for centuries. Give one woman two men vying for her affection and, as they say, the sh** will eventually hit the fan!! Kingdoms will crumble, blood will be shed and yep, you guessed it, some pretty good movies will eventually be made. Show me the irresistible "honey" and I'll show you the inevitable "Money"!!
Today we'll pay homage to the beloved triangle and the famous twisted story-lines that have been created because of them!!
Ahhh! Tristan and Isolde!
Such a beautiful tale of girl saves boy... boy
saves girl back... boy falls for girl... girl falls for boy, too... boy wins girl for adoptive father... boy dies... girl marries boy's adoptive father... boy comes back from the dead... adoptive father dies for real so boy can finally have girl... truly twisted and totally yummy!! Hope I didn't spoil it for you.
The WB's, Vampire Diaries, based on the book series of the same title, created by Harper Collins and written by, LJ Smith, adds a bit of lusty naughtiness to the actual printed version of the books. The characters depicted to the left here are about as hot as they come and as a fan of the show, I can honestly say that when this triangle sizzles, everybody feels the burn... (I'm a fan of Damon Salvatore's character since the actor playing the role, Ian Somerhalder is my secret boyfriend!! Shhh! Just don't tell him... the restraining order is still in effect.)
Good brother -vs- bad brother leaves me torn, since I know that deep down either vampire would literally die for Elena and I'm just glad I'm not the one who had to make that decision when the time came....and no, there won't be any spoilers from me regarding how that finally played out!
Not to be outdone in the vampire romance category, what would the tweens and teens of the world do without Bella, Edward and Jacob? Probably not much considering the latest installment of the movie saga, Breaking Dawn part 1, took in a whopping $138 million on opening night- worldwide!Geesh, that's a whole lotta teen angst piled into theaters across the globe! Yeah, I was there...hey, I'm a paranormal author with teenage girls, a best friend and step-mom who love vampires as much as I do. We had to go! To be honest though, even while reading the books, I only felt the passion TWICE. The first was when Jacob kissed Bella on the mountain top in Eclipse and naturally the destruction of the bed in Breaking Dawn on the honeymoon. To be fair though, these books are young adult, therefore the sexual tension was curtailed and the scenes were far from elicit. As a writer of both erotic and young adult romance, I totally get that.
Moving on....
We go from threesomes to foursomes and OMG!, don't I wish I was Sookie Stackhouse even on a bad day!
To say the least, this chic brings out the beast in every man she meets!
Whether it be the two dynamic vampires, Bill Compton and Eric Northman sniffing around her jugular or Alcide Herveaux scratching at her bedroom door, Sookie is a force to be reckoned with and can stand on her own two feet. This is one fairy that has magic and knows how to use it!
Now, on to probably one of the most famous love trios in history!!
Don't think for one second that Olive Oyl is an innocent party in any of the battles waged between Popeye and Brutus.
Taking a completely different stand on this triangle, I find myself offended for all woman-kind with the way this vixen wears that tight black skirt, stretched tightly around her too-narrow tail, making sure she shows just enough powder-white leg. She is devilishly calculating, wearing a sweater that accentuates her under-endowed chest, taunting men with her less than feminine wiles. She should be ashamed of herself, luring men to her web of deceit. How can the rest of the women in the world expect to find muscle-bound sailors who love to eat vegetables, with a tart like her on the loose... she gives all women torn between two lovers a bad name!! Shameful, just shameful.
All this being said, I'm so glad I took the high road when creating a little love triangle of my own in Midnight Beckoning .
Lauren Neil would never behave like Olive Oyl when she finds herself stuck between a Vampire Lord and a Damphyr King!
Nope, this lady is true to herself and to her heart...even when it leads her down dark paths she never intended to take.
If you are a fan of love triangles, as I am, please feel free to check this one out, too.
A little twist of fate and a whole lot of temptation, are delicious ingredients to any good romantic love triangle... oh and a little spinach on the side wouldn't hurt, too.
What's your favorite love triangle? Leave a comment, I'd love to know!!

Just another Manic Monday....
Wish it were Sunday? Why, when we can make Monday our new FUN day!!
'Tis the season to be jolly and you can bet that I've been nice!! So nice, in fact, that I've decided to share the sweet goodness. Make sure you brush your teeth when you leave so you won't develop cavities!!
If you haven't heard, I just had an epic release last month and have another one next week. Yes, 2011 has been one crazy year around here. But, good things have come from the insanity.
One of those good things was being able to meet lots of fabulous new authors and make friends with some totally awesome readers. By the way, if you fall into either of those categories and enjoy visiting Sealed with a Kiss, follow the blog to make sure you won't miss anything in 2012.
Another great thing was being able to share my stories, personal and otherwise, with good people who care and/or understand the plight of a new author.... even an old chic like me!
It's been one helluva ride!
That being said, it's far from over so keep your seat-belts on and crank up the stereo... this party-coaster is just getting started!!
Today, I'm sharing a little snippet from not one, but TWO of my books.... Midnight Beckoning and upcoming new Christmas novella, The Long way home!! Hope you like it...
EXCERPT! (Paranormal Romance)
The door creaked open and Lauren gasped as ablood-stained Ford, slowly entered the room.
"Oh my God! What happened?" She shoved her fists deepinto the mattress trying to lift herself from the bed. Collapsing back down, hehurried to her aid.
"It's a scratch." Ford winced as he helped her leanback onto the fluffed pillows behind her. "How are you?"
"I've felt better."
He raised his hand and tucked her hair behind her ear, caressing her cheek as he moved it back. "You've never looked better."
"Why are you covered in…" A strange sensation floodedher nostrils. The back of her throat seized and she felt as though she wouldsuffocate. Her eyes fixated on the crimson stains drying on his brow. Laurenlicked her lips, never wanting to taste anything more in her life. "Blood,"she breathlessly added.
Ford leaned away. The troubled look in his eyesworried her."Lauren, I need you to listen to me."The hair on her arms stood on end and all she couldthink of was the warm blood, pulsating inside him. She sensed the flow as itswished through tiny tunneling veins. The artery in his neck thumped and eachbeat of his heart thundered in her ears."Are you listening?" He lifted her chin, distractingher from the silent inventory she took of the thousands of blood filled veinsshe wanted so badly to invade."Yes," she reluctantly replied."I'm going to do something, but you must maintaincontrol and do exactly as I say." Lauren searched his eyes, trying to payattention to the words that were little more than a distant echo in her mind.Ford inched closer and leaned in. "Are you hungry?" hewhispered.Lauren licked her lips and her mouth instantlywatered. She forced a nod.He placed his hand on her shoulder, keeping her frommoving closer.Glaring at his mouth, Lauren had an overwhelmingdesire to kiss him. With his other hand, Ford reached up and rubbed hisskin, where the large vein quivered in his neck.Lauren held her breath. What is he doing? Panicconstricted her heart.A long nail extended from his fingertip and he slowlycut a slit into his flesh. A flood of rich sweet blood seeped to the surfaceand a force she'd never felt before, caused her body to writhe."Look at me," his serious tone demanded attention. She did as she was told, keeping the image of theblood she so desperately craved, locked in the back of her mind. She couldn'tspeak."When it first touches your lips, you'll be overcomewith a desire to gorge yourself, but don't worry. I'll stop you from taking toomuch." His voice was soft and soothing and a battle raged inside of her to heedhis words.Ford placed his hand on the back of her neck andwarily pulled her to him.Lauren glared into his eyes as the smell of his bloodassaulted her nose. In seconds, her lips touched the pierced skin, and thefirst thrill of a feeding frenzy consumed her.She eagerly suckled and moaned as the thick nectarslid down her throat. Lauren clutched his shirt and gripped him tight. Herheartbeat quickened as the sweetness filled her mouth.Flashes of her last encounter with Ford flickered inher mind's eye. Her hand began to wander down his torso, gliding across hisabdomen and lower to the last place she recalled an equal pleasure to what shefelt now. She could have all of him now, flesh and blood.

EXCERPT: (Contemporary Christmas Novella)Dante opened the trunk as Brent handed him two largeflowery suitcases from the back of the truck while Lola walked around andwaited at the passenger door of the Cadillac. Brent lowered his head in defeat then went over, opened the door for Lola, waited for her to sit and closed it behind her, thenwalked back over to the trunk. "Good luck, man," Brent said, slapping his handinto Dante's. "Ahem." Lola cleared her throat. Brent sighed and returned to her side of the car wherehe squatted down to talk to her. "I'm sorry. Okay?" He reached in through the open windowand rubbed her shoulder. "I'll be thinking about you. The slopes will be lonelywithout my baby." "Just don't let any lost skanky little snow-bunnieskeep you warm," Lola whined. "No problem." He kissed her on the forehead and steppedaway from the Cadillac. "She's all yours, dude." Brent smiled at Dante shakinghis head with a sympathetic look as though he felt sorry for him. "Yeah, thanks." A sudden inkling of angst came overDante and he almost regretted agreeing to the trip. Opening the driver's side door, he slid into the seatand avoided looking at Lola as he started the car. Brent hopped into his truck and sped off before Dantehad even backed the car from the parking spot. He watched Lola from the corner of his eye as she ranher finger across the fogged glass window and scrawled Brent's name. An uncomfortable silence immediately settled in thecar. Dante cranked up the heated defroster, which almostinstantly erased the name Lola had doodled. She glared back at him. Dante swallowed hard. "Sorry about that." "No you're not." She folded her arms in front of her. "No, I guess I'm not. Maybe I just don't get it." "What's not to get. Haven't you ever been in love beforeand hated to be separated? Or are you so hard that love can't penetrate thatmacho exterior?" The hair on the back of his neck pricked his collar."What does my love life have to do with you pining over a guy who couldn't waitto get rid of you?" She was already getting to him. "You don't know anything," she snapped. "I know enough and I damn sure know—" He stoppedbefore he finished what he was about to say. If he said what he really thought, the next few days would find him in a deeper realm of hell than he'd alreadyfeared he was headed. Biting his tongue, he reached over and turned on theradio. "What? What do you think you know?" she huffed back athim. Dante could feel her anger rising from across thevinyl seat. "Nothing—just nothing," he hissed. "Whatever." "Yeah, whatever." Lola turned up the volume on the radio, straightenedher blouse and made herself comfortable. Staring out at the road as it flewpast must have been a better alternative than talking to him, which suited himjust fine as well. Dante squeezed the steering wheel tight and clenchedhis jaw. He'd come so close to saying something he knew he wouldn't have beenable to take back and he probably wouldn't have wanted to either. He didn't know Lola at all, but what he had seen ofher, told him she was the most superficial, infuriating twit he'd everencountered. She was the epitome of every girl he'd loathed in high school. Shethrived on a cliché cheerleader mentality and lived for Friday night footballgames and dating the quarterback. She was forever stuck at a maturity level ofa sixteen-year-old kid and nothing like the breathtaking woman she was on theoutside. The next few days would definitely be the longest he'dever lived.

How my muse used sex gods to ease my melancholy funk!!!
I'm not sure if it's the weather or the lull that sneaks up between Thanksgiving and Christmas, but I have to say that this years melancholy funk is a bit deeper than in years past. I suppose it could be that after having TEN book release in 14 months, I may have abused my muse just a bit and pushed him to the limits of our shared imagination.
He surprised me earlier this week though, when a friend suggested on Facebook that I find new inspiration. See, my muse and I are tight and as with any serious relationship, we tend to take each other for granted. He hadn't been doing much to inspire me as of late and it hadn't occurred to me that he was probably just as tired as I was.
Then he gave me a gift, most men wouldn't... he sent other men to ease my funk.
Now you tell me, what muse would do something that? Well, a pretty damned confident one would and mine is all that and a bag of chips!!
So, if you're in need of a little eye candy, inspiration, or just indulging your naughty side, sit back and enjoy some friends my muse invited over...
I've named this one, "Brady". Don't know why, but I bet if I keep him here for a while, he'll tell me his story. I may even let him find love, but that heroine better be worthy!!
This is "Dante", and for those of you who know me personally, then you understand why he is one of my favorite guests. Yes, this sexy, young hunk reminds me of some rather fond times in my life... ahem, times better left tucked away in my secret box of naughty deeds. Shhh, don't tell Santa!
Moving right along, this models REAL name is Akihiro and I think I'll let him keep it. My house, my rules. Now if he makes his way onto the pages of a new book, we can negotiate a name change, just for the sake of confidentiality and to prevent a lawsuit. LOL!
I honestly don't have a name for this... absolutely breathtaking man, and it's too hard to speak with my tongue dragging anyway. My fingers get a little shaky just looking at him, so typing is pretty much out, too... we'll just sigh and gaze upon his beauty and leave him be...besides, he looks rather comfy.....
I've never wanted to be a terrycloth towel more in my life!!!
Let's call him, "Hunter", which is exactly what this cougar feels like right about now...a hunter ready to stalk her prey.... those abs would sure look good slathered in strawberry sauce... and this cougar has one heck of a sweet tooth this week......
We'll name this papi chulo, Gregorio, (Greg for my Spanish challenged friends)
This young, Latin hunk puts the caliente in my salsa, if you know what I mean.
Besos dulces, mi amor!!!
Muchas Gracias por todos!!!
And last, but certainly not least, you know I had to go there!!!
If this hunky St. Nick doesn't put the Ho! Ho! Ho! in your holiday, then your stocking doesn't deserve stuffing this year. Bwuahahaha!
All in all, I think my muse did a fine job of helping to remind me how to stop and smell the roses. We get so busy around this time of year that it all seems to pile up right here at the end. Sometimes, we just need to take a breath, relax and allow our imagination to reboot. A little man candy goes a long way, too.
I hope you're all ready for Christmas, Kwanza, Chanuka (Hanukka), Las Posadas or whatever you celebrate this time of year and I wish all of you blessing and good tidings for 2012!!
