Content Marketing Fundamentals Course
I’m excited to announce that my new Lynda.com class Content Marketing Fundamentalsis now live. Current Lynda.com subscribers can enroll and start watching immediately.
If you have never heard of Lynda.com, I’ve been a fan for years. Their all you can eat pricing model is why I’ve always liked them.
They only work with the top teachers in any given field and I’ve watched everything from photography classes to creative inspirations on their site.
This is my second course with them (first was Insig...

Istanbul in One Day
Traveling is something I love to do. With a family at home that I hate to be away from, there is never enough time to do enough of it.
Being asked to speak at the Digital Age Summit was an exciting offer. It would bring Ann Handley and I to Istanbul where our book Content Rules is currently in its second edition in Turkish.
The event was held at the stunningly beautiful Four Seasons Bosphorus. Sadly I was not staying here as I would have loved to explore it more.
There was no way I could fly acr...

Istanbul in Black and White
Going through my photos from a recent trip to Istanbul, I noticed how different the country looks in black and white.
It is a city of every color of the rainbow and yet in black and white it has a totally new kind of beauty.
All photos taken with the Samsung Galaxy NXcamera that I am using as a Samsung ImageLogger. (affiliatelink)

Reading Makes the World a Better Place
Growing up, you would often find me lost in the pages of the book. It is what fueled my imagination and sense of wonder my entire life.
If I hadn’t walked the road to Moria, stood on the battlefield on St. Crispin’s Day or sailed down a river on a homemade raft there is no chance I would have grown up to be the man I am today.
Today is National Family Literacy Day and I’m helping raise money for a great cause works hard to insure that families around the country discover the power of reading an...

American Field Pop-Up Marketplace
American made products make me happy, so when I heard about American Field Pop-Up Marketplace happening in Boston I knew I had to check it out.
The goal of the event is to bring together American made fashion and apparel brands and expose them to consumers so that they can become educated on all the great brands being made right here on our own soil.
It is amazing the variety of products that people are making here in the States and it was fun to walk around and see such high quality products f...

IdeaFestival 13 – Space, Soil and Sherlock
Last week, I had the pleasure of being invited to attend IdeaFestival 2013 in Louisville, Kentucky.
This yearly gathering of the eternally curious is easily one of my favorite conferences. I always leave with tons of brain nibbles that keep me thinking long after I’ve returned home.
Up front, I need to thank the team for flying me down and taking care of me while there. All they ask in return is that I share my thoughts with those who will listen and I’m happy to do so.
Sadly, I had to miss the...

My Appearance on And That’s The Truth With Terry Whitaker
Earlier this year I was asked to come in for an interview with Terry Whitaker for her show And That’s the Truth.
We talked about my theater background, career and determination to make the world a better place. Of course we also chatted a bit about Amazing Things Will Happen.
This was kind of trippy to watch since it was filmed so long ago and some things have changed, but overall I’m very happy with how it turned out.

Samsung Galaxy NX Changes the Photography Landscape
Honestly, I never thought I’d be typing these words about a camera from Samsung. Yes, they make great televisions (I own several) and recently they’ve come on strong in the phone market, but the camera world has always been dominated by others.
Over the last six months I’ve been taking part in the #ImageLogger program by Samsung. They’ve given me several cameras to try out and in return ask me to take photos and share my thoughts with them.
The first camera they sent was the N...

Natalie Gelman
Natalie Gelman – Live at Stain in Brooklyn, New York. April 6, 2007 -f/1.4, 50mm, ISO 400.
Dinner with her last week in Santa Barbara at Sama Sama Kitchen made me remember this night when Chris Penn told me I had to hear this woman sing and he was right.
I’ve been a friend and fan ever since.
