Here’s a trailer for a new steampunk game from one of the big game studios, Bethesda. Reminds me of a steampunk ‘V for Vendetta’, watching this.

George RR Martin swings at the Tower.
Normally when you go to the Tower of London, it’s to lose your head. Fantasy author George RR Martin went there after hours (after all the tourists had cleared out) for a special invite to be shown around the tower, and enjoy an exclusive party, care of his publisher HarperCollins (same bods behind my Jackelian novels). The great and good of the genre and media world were there to stop George slipping the Crown Jewels in his bag, and raise a few bottles of wine in honour of Game of Thrones.
Here’s my photos from the party night. Thanks to the team at HarperCollins Voyager for arranging this bash – lots of hard work, and a great night was had by all.
Invitees head for the Tower.
George and gang wait for the Beefeaters.
We pass the Queen’s gold-plated sub-machine gun in a case (yes, true, it’s hers – gift from Saudi – don’t know what they think she hunts with).
The party starts…
George gets into the swing… no sign of the guards turning up yet.
The Queen’s representative? Pleased to meet you, old boy.
George chats with Jane Johnson, Voyager’s own Queen of Literature.
Used android, going cheap…
…only murdered five previous owners. Yes, it’s one of those cute viral adverts for the new Prometheus movie, this one for the Weyland Industries’ David 8 model android. The D8s always were a bit twitchy. That could never happen now with our behavioral inhibitors. It is impossible for me to harm or by omission of action, allow to be harmed, a human being.
Avengers: shield and hammer
Here’s a bit of shield and hammer action via a certain Avengers movie coming to a cinema near you soon.
Prometheus, Russian ship.
Here’s a new trailer for Prometheus; clearly demonstrating that it’s the Russians who are getting to land on the first offworld away mission, da comrade?

Looper.
Trailer for the new Bruce Willis time travel movie, Looper. He plays an assassin using time travel to carry out hits, who finds his younger self is coming after him to rub him out. Can you kill yourself? Isn’t there meant to be some time travel Prime Directive about that kind of paradox?
Skyfall… James Bond pics.
Here’s some new photos from the Skyfall Bond movie. Lots more of them over at http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=89088 if you’re into Bond-age and SpyFi.

U.S. Military versus Alien Balls
You'll need to check out the film Battleship if you want to see what happens to the U.S. Military when it takes on the most deadly bouncing balls since Sir Barnes Wallis went busting damns. Ouch!

Detective Dee, steampunk style
The new movie from the same team that brought you the excellent Detective Dee flick (well worth seeing), now bring you Tai Chi O, a fighting fantasy of a young Tai Chi master who must defeat a steampunk-equipped force attacking his region of China. Hey, you had me at Tai Chi master! Here's the trailer…
Tai Chi O is the first in a planned trilogy of films from Chen Kuofu, the producer of Detective Dee and the Mystery of Phantom Flame. Directed by Stephen Fung with Sammo Hung (Ip Man 2) serving as Action Director, Tai Chi O, stars William Feng, Eddie Peng and Angelababy. The film was acquired from Huayi Brothers Media in a deal negotiated between Leslie Chen on behalf of the company, and Doris Pfardrescher, President of Well Go USA. The film will be released in the US and Canada in early 2013.
As an uncommonly gifted child, Yang Luchan had a fleshy abnormality that holds tremendous power growing on his forehead. However, being teased as the town fool, Yang's mother spurs him to practice martial arts, and following her wishes, Yang travels to the distant Chen Village to learn TAI CHI. At this legendary village everyone practices TAI CHI and uses TAI CHI in every aspect of their lives. Nevertheless, it is forbidden for a villager to disclose TAI CHI to an outsider, which Yang learns the hard way.
Upon arriving at the village, locals discourage Yang by challenging him with fights. From the strong men to old ladies to children, everyone defeats Yang with their TAI CHI moves. After facing the toughest battle and being defeated by Master Chen's beautiful daughter Yuniang, Yang is determined to master the art of TAI CHI and goes in search of Master Chen. Little does Yang know, the poor strange man who he befriended is in fact Master Chen who had saved him from the duel with Yuniang. Master Chen realizes Yang's genius and disguises himself to secretly guide Yang to his self realization of TAI CHI.
One day, a frightening steam-powered machine comes to the village, lead by Fang Zijing, a childhood friend of Yuniang. He has bribed government officials to permit him to build a railway that will run straight through the village. Yang decides to join forces with Yuniang to defeat Fang Zijing and destroy the machine. This brave act may just win him the hearts of the villagers.
