New John Carter trailer
Here's the latest trailer for the John Carter movie, along with a photo they were kind enough to release. Am I going to see this one? I thought about giving it a miss, but hey, they had me at 'Carter' (even though they should have had me at 'of Mars'!).

His name is James Bond (you $%$%&)
Here's the theme tune to the next James Bond movie. Warning, don't play this in the office or in front of your mom. Yes, your mom, ^%^&*, as it's rather rude.
Scalextric to do Star Wars sets for Xmas 2012
Scalextric is bumping up its car racing credentials by expanding into the Star Wars universe next Christmas, including speeder bike racing and Death Star trench racing with x-wings versus tie fighters (glow in the dark, no less).
The Scalextric Star Wars range will include Micro and Start sets, as well as collectable solo models. Characters and vehicles will, I am promised, be faithfully reproduced in precise detail, allowing fans to recreate the thrills of intergalactic racing.
As long as you don't move into Pod Racing from the prequels, I'm cool, guys. Now how about some Hornby Star Wars train sets?
Max Mad Fury Road
Here's a picture of the vehicles from the shortly to be filmed Mad Max Fury Road movie. Hopefully these are the smokers driven by the bad guys and Max is in his Jensen Interceptor again! Brutal. Or is that my Skoda? Crikes, who'd be seen driving around post-apocalypse in a Skoda?
Steampunk mobile phone
New Zealand-based designer Richard Clarkson has come up with a steampunk mobile phone to give the iPhone a run for its money – well, at least in the 19th century. Looks interesting.

Steampunk playing cards
Here's the Steampunk playing cards set made by Design House Theory 11 – from a custom bronze paper that is made to look like metal. Their artist Alex Beltechi made the bronze paper from scratch in order to perfectly print the ink that covers its surface in 19th century Victorian machinery. The boldly stamped, debossed elements cast shadows to create a perspective of depth and weight.
Nice, huh?

Sony's VAIO F – steampunked official
Sony called in steampunk artist John Dunn of Baroquestone.com to give Sony's VAIO F Series Laptop a complete steampunk makeover. Dunn created a custom design he calls the eCog Mercury. The initial sketches took over two weeks just to design before a single gear attached or copper detail was soldered.

My novel Six Against The Stars (Book 1) is free for Kindle this week
I was feeling guilty about running my pre-Xmas promotion, knowing how many of my readers were going to be finding new Kindle tablets and e-book readers under the Xmas tree and unable to access the pre-Crimble freebie, so I've made the first novel of my two-book Six Against The Stars science fiction series free for you to read on the Amazon Kindle.
As always, Uncle Bozos, he says this freebie cannot be run longer than the next five days. I beg and beg him for longer, but he never listens to me. Damn that e-commerce entrepreneur with his private Learjet LJ45. The offer runs from Wednesday 4th December to Sunday 8th December (USA timings, so from 8.00am GMT Wednesday).
Oh well, here's the book's blurb…
Six Against The Stars: Book 1 (The Six Against The Stars duology)
As the self-proclaimed biggest coward in the galaxy, Horatio has it easy on what passes for 40th century America. A much-favoured sycophant in the court of the King of Earth, Horatio lives in a genetically engineered paradise where there's a vat-grown slave waiting around every marble column with a bunch of grapes to drop into his oh-so perfectly designed mouth.
Unfortunately for Horatio, the artificial intelligence that rules the great mass of humanity spread across the stars has other plans for this feckless seducer. So, if you ever wonder how the galaxy's biggest coward finds himself actually trying to save it, you're not alone… but then, unfortunately, neither is our hero!
His misadventures are abetted by a psychotic Martian warrior, a robot who thinks it's related to Sherlock Holmes, a beautiful genetically enhanced assassin, a scientist with a computer for a brain, and a millennia-old clone who was alive when the last U.S. President was executed by a firing squad.
It's six against the galaxy. Six against the stars. They'll save the universe… but they might damage it first.
And here's the links to the freebies and a happy 2012 to all my readers…

This is from 1999, so it's vintage Hunt, pre-The Court of the Air even.
Sir Christopher Lee on The Hobbit
Noted actor and institution unto himself – Sir Christopher Lee – gives his end of year state of the union speech in which he discusses The Hobbit movie and reprising his role as Saruman. More watched than the Queen's message to the nation? Well, in my geeky household, perhaps.

Star Wars – a porn parody
It had to happen… Vivid Entertainment, quite literally flush with success from their Batman dirty movie have now made Star Wars XXX – a porn parody. Here's the trailer (don't worry, this trailer is clean with just the comedy bits left in it, and all the 'dark side' material left on the cutting room floor). If George threw a wobbler at that guy in the UK selling stormtrooper armour, he must be sitting in the ranch with his head in his hands over this one.
How long, I wonder until they get around to a steampunk porn parody? The Court of the Pubic Hair? Please god, no.
