Camryn Rhys Across The Bar, Celibacy and Sour Beers. Just Say No.

Welcome to my Beer Bar Camryn!what can I pour you to start?
I'm gonna have to request some kind of fruity Belgian beer like a framboise. It's early in the morning... for some reason, malt beverages feel like they should be sweeter early in the morning.
Erm. No. You see, we are the home of the Lager Revolution. Lagers are not sour.  And I may have to ask you to step outside for this interview if you've been anywhere near a brewery that makes framboise.  There is a contaminant in many Belgian fermenters called "Brett" (For short the long version is impossible to pronounce) that if I get any of it in here, I'm ruined.  So...here....try the "Pretty Woman" it's a wheat IPA. You'll like it.
Hey, we share 3 publishers!  Tell us about your very first book to be published.
Woohoo! I love my publishers. I started off with Breathless Press, and my first book was a cowboy foodie romance. Yes, I had a hot stud in chaps baking up a storm in the kitchen, and it was super hot. Whew. It's getting hot in here...
Now about the most recent....
Last month, my sports erotic romance came out. Every Time I Think of You is about a sports radio heroine who falls for a guy on a celibacy kick. It's from my 100 Days of Celibacy series with Liquid Silver Books and I'm very excited about it.
Celibacy eh?  Sounds intriguing. We are talking about a GUY here, right? You must be thirsty, what can I pour you next?
I'm gonna have another framboise--these things are tasty. Maybe cut it with some hefewiessen.*SMACKS BAR*  no. here...a winter lager. I will convert you.
You have one of the sleekest websites I've seen. Did you design it yourself?
I did not design it myself--I wish. The fantastic Steena Holmes, from The Author's Red Room, designed it. She is a web goddess if ever there was one.
I hate to cook, but love to eat!  Just ask my family. What is your favorite meal to make?
My favorite meal to make is pasta. It's got a major comfort factor, and you can make it with anything you have in the house. Plus, it can either go in a healthy direction, or in a completely decadent direction. In fact, I'm totally craving some spaghetti bake right now... yikes! Does that go with beer?
Anything goes with beer.
What are your ultimate goals as a writer? Big 6 Maintream fiction bestseller or what?
I would be perfectly happy to just write books that people want to read. My ultimate goal is to be able to write full-time. If that means that I have to marry rich so I can write novellas for the rest of my life, then I'm happy with that. I just sold my first steampunk novel to Ellora's Cave, so now that I've broken into several different markets, I feel like I might be headed in the direction of being a full-time writer. That's definitely my goal.
okay, nightcap time...what's your poison...and with it, I want to know one really really naught detail about yourself.  C'mon, you've had 3 beers, spill it!
I'm definitely going with a Guinness to top it all off. Gotta take the jump. Hmmmm. A really naughty detail? But I'm SUCH a good girl. ;) Actually, one of my weekly passtimes is intellectually torturing four very lovely men live on the radio... and by intellectually torturing, I mean... well, yes. I'm the "sexpert" on The Black Stone podcast, and the naughty detail is that I definitely look for windows to inject my torture. If you want to be subjected to my torture, you can always follow me on Twitter (@camrynrhys) or on Facebook (@ Camryn Rhys) or my website (http://camrynrhys.com) which includes my blog, and of course, the Black Stone podcast, which is now also available on iTunes. In fact, we're doing sex advice for geeks next week and we're looking for questions....

Yeah, no Guinness.  I only serve beer we make. But this: our Faustian Stout Baltic Porter will make you cry every time you drink a Guinness from now on...mainly because it's NOT a Faustian Stout Baltic Porter....thanks for stopping by!

Tuesday Levity....and a VERY HOT (very FREE) EXCERPT....shhhh

While the C-5 was turning over its engines, a female crewman gave the G.I.s on board the usual information regarding seat belts, emergency exits, etc.

Finally, she said, 'Now sit back and enjoy your trip while your captain, Judith Campbell, and crew take you safely to Afghanistan '

An old Master Sergeant sitting in the eighth row thought to himself, 'Did I hear her right? Is the captain a woman? '

When the attendant came by he said 'Did I understand you right? Is the captain a woman?' 'Yes,'! said the attendant, 'In fact, this entire crew is female.'
'My God,' he said, 'I wish I had two double scotch and sodas. I don't know what to think with only women up there in the cockpit.'

'That's another thing, Sergeant,' said the crew member, 'We No Longer Call It The 'Cockpit.''It's The Box Office.'

IN HONOR OF SWEAT EQUITY RECEIVING ENOUGH VOTES TO BE NAMED "SIZZLING HOT READ OF THE MONTH" at the Sizzling Hot Review Site. I bring you
your weekly HEAT from the Realtors (from the upcoming final chapter of the trilogy: Closing Costs)
THIS IS VERY MUCH AN ADULTS ONLY (and still in editing..shhh...)EXCERPT
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
Jack and Sara have come a long way...apart. But they still have some unfinished business between them.

"Oh Jack you are .." "Persistent? Incredibly talented? Madly in love still?"She laughed. "Stubborn?""Hello, kettle this is pot…" he grinned over his coffee cup at her, setting her nerve endings jangling. "I miss you Sara. " Those simple words, said countless times before, had a different effect on her today. She stood and walked around to face him, leaning on the desk. He merely looked up at her.  The space between them crackled with energy. She took one step past him and shut her door, then stood  hands on hips."Okay, persistent. That's fair." Resting her palms on the arms of his chair she leaned in. He stayed completely still, let her lead. She licked his lips, parted them with her tongue, their only contact by mouth but with more than enough between them to fill a book. She sighed when he yanked her down to his lap, forcing her to straddle him, digging his fingers into her hips. He fisted her hands in her hair, pulled hard, making her gasp. When his lips and teeth touched her neck she had to hold back a yelp of pleasure. "I need you so much," His hands roamed up and down her back, tugging her skirt up and cupping her ass. The rock hard bulge of his need beneath her made Sara want to whimper. "What do you want from me, really?" His words were muffled, his mouth stayed pressed to her neck then down between her breasts. "Because I can give you this," He clutched her ass, ground his cock into her clit. "And this," his hands moved up, tugged her hair again, bringing tears to her eyes. "And definitely this," He yanked her blouse up, freed one breast, ran his thumb across her nipple. "But," his hands cupped her face, making her look into his eyes. "I need more from you." He pushed her up off his lap, confusing her as her body continued to thrum and pulse with the kind of anticipation only Jack could provide. He stood, put his hands in his pockets.Sara caught her breath, and in a split second had herself wrapped around the tall, strong body she still dreamed of, covered the firm lips she fantasized about to this day. He groaned, met her half way and the world drowned in her sea of lust, frustration and something deeper she refused to acknowledge. Their teeth clicked, tongues tangled with urgency as he pressed into her. She cupped the hard ridge of his cock, breathless, her ears buzzing with need. "Dear God, Sara, I," he hissed when she slid his zipper down, reached in to grasp him. The smooth velvety skin covering the rock hard steel of his need made her groan, as her pussy pulsed in anticipation. The fact that he seemed utterly undone by her, unable to control like he usually did made her body clench with something she couldn't name."Stop," his voice growled in her ear. He put a hand over hers, took it off his cock and leaned back to face her. "I need to be inside you, to taste you, fuck you, have you like I did once so badly I can hardly fucking breathe but just stop." The look on his face made her chest tighten."No," she whispered. "You don't really want me to." The small sound he made in his throat told her everything, She squirmed against him, and had to bite down a squeal when he gripped her hips and force her to turn around and pushed her down over the desk.

Intensity with Jack and Sara--is there any other way?

Welcome back! This six is from SWEAT EQUITY, sequel to Floor Time, which is getting a bunch of great reviews after just one week of release~
Jack and Sara....will they ever get it together?

"Sara," he kept his voice low, "tell me what you want from me."   She stared at him a minute, unable to translate the look he gave her.  His eyes darkened with desire, his teeth clenched as though trying to hold back, willing her to say something that would satisfy him."I want you Jack," she hissed at him, "all of you--now."She wrenched her arms free to pull him closer, met his intense gaze more than halfway."Then why the fuck did you throw that ring back at me?"

THANKS For following--one more week from this book then we hit the final of the trilogy: Closing Costs.Read more great snippets here:  Six Sentence Sunday

Fever. By Joan Swan. A Review and a Torso.

Wrong place wrong time for a young doctor turns her life upside down.

Same could be said for the  guy who kidnaps her thinking she's someone else.

Teague has had a tough go of his life. He's your typical Alpha of course. Perfectly formed, "drool-worthy" as we say. Rough around the edges, diamond in the rough, misunderstood and framed for a crime, all of that. And he has a "gift" or a "curse" that adds a dusting of paranormal to a story that, frankly, to my mind didn't need it.

Alyssa has a layered background, complex and complicated relationships with her family. And is one tough cookie determined to beat a fellow male doctor out for a prestigious spot on staff. Well, except when Teague touches her.

It's the set up for a fairly typical romance.

I know, I write them too.

However, what captures ME about a well-written story, be it romance, mainstream, mystery, whatever, is how the author uses the same words the rest of us do to world build, to draw you in, to make you give a rip about Yet Another Strong, Misunderstood Alpha Male and but one more Tough And Tender Hot Stuff Female.  I want to have empathy for the characters, go way deep into their brains and feel what they feel. Even if it is anger, hate, lust, fear, or the ever elusive love. Using words seems easy.  It's not. To be able to combine them in ways that make me keep turning pages is a daunting task anymore. I've gotten a lot pickier about the romance books I read. No cardboard characters please, or standard set-ups, or overused "push pull" scenarios.  Give me something different. And make it flow, like music.

Ms. Swan did that for me. I will admit to having a little "Oh no this will never work" moment early on with all the racist stuff thrown around by Teague's fellow escapee. And I've read a few reviewers who have either been unable to get past it at all, or who recommend you muscle past the cringe-worthy epithets and ugly language. As I said, I read a lot of mainstream fiction too so it didn't bother me as a reader. I saw its importance and value to the story line. But I also know my audience and realize that many "traditional romance"  readers (even those who, thanks to the industry including myself, expect seriously hot sex with their HEAs)  will be rocked back by some of it.

For me, that's what made the book enjoyable. I like my "romance" to come with a tinge of "real." Which is why I'm awarding this book 4 Pints.

I stop short of five, mainly because I liked the story without the seemingly bow-to-the-market addition of paranormal. However, once that whole thing (they whys and wherefores of it are missing--in a very clever hint at the next book. I'm also a marketing professional so I get that) is fleshed out as it were, I'm sure it will become a lovely sub context for the series.

Ms. Swan is a very good writer and her future is bright.  (but that cover could really have been more subtle--a better reflection of what lies within: Not Another Basic Romance Story. I liked my simple, red ARC cover better.)

Well Done and Many Sales to you Joan!
cheers
Liz

Across the Beer Bar with Jorja Lovett (and we walk like Egyptians)

welcome to my beer bar Jorja what can I pour you to start?
Well, in honour of my Egyptian, I'll have something strong and dark.
Okay, here's a Faustian Stout Baltic Porter. You will love it.Clever name.  Because I was born and raised in the southern U.S. I have to know…is it supposed to sound like the state between South Carolina and Alabama?
No, though I like that association too. It's a reference to someone close to me and that's all I'm saying!
Why use a pseudonym? have you been published under other names in other genres?
I have been published under a different name in more mainstream romance. I wish I was the sort of person who really didn't give a shit about what people think but I took the decision to use a pseudonym for my more risqué work to avoid getting grief for writing 'filth' lol
Huh, I don't consider what I write "filth" in any way but I guess that's why I didn't really choose a pseudonym.  To each her own. What made you choose ancient Egypt as a setting?
It's a subject which always intrigued me – the romance and mystery of the pyramids, the decadence of those in power – and I guess this was my way of feeling part of it.
lookie you need another --what can I pour you?
There's never too much of a good thing in my opinion. Keep pouring.
Yes, that was good but as a treat and to show you I'm over you calling it "filth" I will give you a preliminary taste of The Massacre: Our Imperial Dark Lager aged in bourbon barrels.  Feel free to orgasm over it. I have.
I lived in England for a bit. Miss the hell out of some things but not the weather. I will say the Brit sense of humor is one I appreciate.  Is the "romance book" market over there as crowded as it is here?
Glad you 'get' our humour, it is rather dry. Unlike the weather! I have to say I don't think the market is just as crowded here because there is still an element of snobbery where romance novels are concerned. There certainly aren't as many British digital publishers either, as there appears to be elsewhere.
What's next for Jorja? Got a new book coming out? What's on your WIP platter?
Busy times! My next book, In Her Element, is out on March 16th as part of The Blood Bar Chronicles. It tells the story of quiet Ana Chapman who meets Fire Elemental, Zanaan, one fateful night in Edinburgh and he introduces her to spontaneous teleportation, public orgasms, and supernatural beings.
I've also just signed a contract for a full length contemporary romance, so watch this space! Well done!okay nightcap time…what's your poison?
The Egyptians were fond of their beer so I'm willing to try anything you've got.
here's a light nightcap to take the edge off that 12% beer you just had: a nice dry IPA.
Thanks for having me Liz. I'll leave you with a snippet of my Egyptian Enjoy!
Pyramid of Passion – BlurbRosie Carter starts her night shift at the museum by finding her secret crush, security guard Nick, screwing a redhead in the office. Running from her attraction to him, she distracts herself with the newly acquired Ancient Egyptian exhibit. The Gold of Valor catches her eye--a pendant bestowed on Pharaoh's soldier, Edifu. Its mystical powers transport her into the bedroom of the man himself who thinks she's a gift from the gods and worships her with his mouth, his tongue...

She discovers the joy of sex and a new found confidence with her hunky warrior and she's caught between her fantasy life and dull reality. When Nick starts to show his true feelings towards her, Rosie has to decide what it is she really wants.
Excerpt"Hmm. Your strange attire would indeed appear ineffective armor for the Goddess of War. If you are not the Goddess herself and she has not sent you, then perhaps Qadesh? Such a gift from the Goddess of sexual pleasure would surely increase a mortal's prowess on the battlefield tenfold." He drew a thick fingertip from the hollow of her throat to the zipper on her smock. Rosie had gone from Goddess to sex toy in one fell swoop. That channel of need Nick's earlier performance opened up now swelled within her at another's touch. Adrenaline buzzed through her eradicating rational thought and she clung to facts where she could find them. "You're a soldier?" she asked."Yes. In King Rameses' Army." He rasped the zipper up and down in wonder, exposing and covering her goose-pimpled skin until she wanted to rip the damn thing off herself.      When she set aside the pleasures of her flesh for a moment, the importance of his words filtered into her brain. His obsession with the simple metal fastener of her top coupled with the exotic dreamscape forced her to ask the question, "What is your name?""Edifu." With one final tug, he unzipped her uniform and pushed it from her shoulders.Okay! If, somehow this whacky set-up could possibly be real, was she really ready to leap into bed with the first Ancient Egyptian soldier to try it on with her?Large hands cupped her breasts through the white cotton of her bra. When he bent to kiss her full on the mouth, she gave herself over to the moment. If, on the other hand, this was all fantasy, why deny herself a starring role?"By the Gods, you are a true beauty." His husky voice on her lips commanded a rush of liquid desire to flood south. How long since a man paid me a compliment? Kissed me with such reverence? Too long. She returned the passionate kiss with interest; let her hands explore the broad expanse of warrior chest available to her.The humidity of the night combined with the radiating heat between their responsive bodies, soon became too much to bear. Besides, she couldn't wait until Eddie here figured out the complexities of the modern bra clasp. Under his lust-filled watch, Rosie divested from the remainder of her clothes. He took a step closer and she shivered in his shadow. Masterful male fingers palmed her uncovered breasts, his sun-kissed skin in relief against her porcelain complexion, and stroked a thumb across her nipple. It stood to attention and he rewarded it by sealing his mouth around the pink tip. Gasps of delight seeped from her when he suckled and his tongue joined in the courtship.Powerful arms lifted her and carried her over to the bed to lay her on the virginal white linen sheets. Totally at his mercy, she was enjoying every sinful second. For however brief a spell, she would revel in her womanhood and experience this man with pure abandon. She reached for his granite-hard cock. He caught her searching hand and pinned it to the bed above her head. With a sensual smile he started a slow descent along her body, marking a path with a trail of wet kisses. Starting with her mouth, he moved down the center of her body, diverting only to pay homage to one unattended breast. Goddess or not, soldier boy seemed intent on worshipping her.

Introducing: BEHIND THE SCENES OF THE REALTORS! WIN A PRIZE

FIRST!  Play this...while you read....kinda sets the scene....bear with me...

I have a series of these "deleted scenes" as part of my upcoming blog tour to celebrate the release of SWEAT EQUITY (book 2) and as the lead up to CLOSING COSTS (book 3).
FIRST I gotta share some early reviews for Sweat Equity:

Melissa @ Sizzling Reviews says:
Sara and Jack burn up the pages of Sweat Equity together and apart as they try to get each other out of their hearts. The sex scenes sizzle and will make you breathless. But it is the push and pull of attraction between Sara and Jack that will drive you up the wall.

Full review here:http://www.sizzlinghotbooks.net/2012/02/sweat-equity-by-liz-crowe.html
And a reader/reviewer for My Book Addiction who just happens to be a REALTOR says: This is no fairy tale love story where a brief conflict is simply solved and everyone's lives proceed to the happily ever after.  No, nearly everyone in this book has issues and those issues affect, most often negatively, them and those they love.  Crowe has a talent for bringing to the page characters with confused, conflicting emotions who don't even realize they are creating their own misery by trying so hard to avoid broken hearts – just like real life!...A huge cliffhanger left me to again impatiently await the next book, CLOSING COSTS.full review here:http://mybookaddictionreviews.wordpress.com/2012/02/26/sweat-equity-by-liz-crowe/

and NOW what you've been waiting for....observe carefully and tell me what cards Craig was dealt first in a comment and you could WIN an autographed copy of FLOOR TIME...first of the Realtors Series (if I get enough comments I'll even give away a $10 gift card to Amazon!)
Behind the Scenes with The RealtorsPoker Night at Jack's House

Craig stomped his feet to rid his boots of snow, and hit the doorbell just as a tall, slim guy who looked to be about Jack's age joined him on the front porch.
"Hi," the guy stuck out a hand. "You must be Craig. I'm Evan."
"Oh, hey. Yeah, I'm Craig." The whole extreme awkwardness of coming here, to Jack's house, albeit for an innocuous poker night with 'the boys' weighed even heavier as he turned and faced the huge wooden door without another word.  When it swung open and he faced Sara, the whole thing took on a surreal aura that made him want to turn and run away, or get shit faced drunk. She smiled and gave him a warm hug. That damn diamond caught the porch light nearly blinding him.
"Hey guys. C'mon in. You know where to go. Evan, show the new guy to the lair. I'm still getting food together."
"You? Getting food together? Jesus save us. Glad I ate already." Evan gave her a one-armed hug and a quick kiss, handing over the six packs from his company's brewery. Craig shoved his hands in his pockets and wished like hell for the millionth time he were anywhere else in the universe but right here, in this picture perfect renovated bungalow in one of Ann Arbor's most exclusive close-to-campus neighborhoods, within touching distance of the woman he'd fantasized about for months. The woman engaged to the larger than life successful man who owned the house. He took a breath.  "Here new guy," Evan tossed a bottle Craig's way.  "You're gonna need this."
Sara flipped Evan off, rolled her eyes at Craig and headed out presumably for the kitchen.  Craig accepted Evan's offer of a bottle opener and downed half the crisp brew in seconds, his mind spinning with the weird situation he found himself in, still thinking he might extricate somehow without having to face Jack Gordon.
"That you Adams?" Jack's deep rough voice floated up from a large doorway at the back of the hallway.  "Get down here and I'll beat you once at pool before I kick your ass at Hold 'em."  Evan indicated the doorway to Craig.
"After you." Craig sighed and started down the hardwood staircase. Sights and sounds assaulted him.  Trying to take it all in he had to clap his mouth shut at the extreme "man cave" of the whole scene.  One corner was dominated by a giant television with an Xbox and several leather recliners, two of which were occupied by Sara's brother Blake and his lover, Rob battling it out over virtual MLS Soccer. The middle of the room held a full size pool table, currently in use by the man of the house. Next to it, a six-person regulation poker table, already set with cards, cigars and beer.
He wandered over and touched the soft green felt, wincing when a hand settled on his shoulder. "Craig. Glad you could make it." Jack grinned around the cigar he had clamped between his teeth. Blake looked up and waved at him.
"Uh, sure. Thanks for the invite."
"Okay boys," Sara's voice joined the cacophony of soccer and ESPN tuned to Michigan basketball. "Here we go. The feast."
"Oh shit, seriously Gordon you let her cook?" Rob asked his eyes never leaving the screen, biting his lip as he jerked one arm, pressed a button repeatedly, and then jumped up yelling "Gooooooooal!"  Blake groaned and threw his controller down on the soft carpet.
"Oh yeah, I slaved. Here, chips, salsa, guacamole, veggies and hummus. A fucking feast. Now, let's play." All the men, including her fiancé stared at her. But she arranged the food, popped open a beer and took a seat at the table. "What?" Craig smiled at the fake innocent look on her face.
"Oh um honey, you know I thought you'd do a girl's night or something you know…" Jack looked at Evan who shrugged.  Blake grinned and put an arm around his sister.  He whispered something to her and she laughed, making Craig's chest tighten. God, he missed her. He grabbed another beer from the cooler, opened it and sat down.
"Yeah, so let's go already. Money is burning a hole in my pocket."
After about an hour and a half, the entire table was two thirds to being shit faced and Sara had taken them all for a ride.  She sat back, sipping her beer, as her fiancé shot daggers from his bright blue eyes her way. Craig had a nice pot for himself as well and was close on her heels.  Evan kept folding, Rob and Blake bluffing and Sara kept swooping in and taking the pile of bills from the middle of the table. After the last hand, Craig could sense Jack's frustration from across the table.
"Relax lover boy. You get to sleep with her tonight. Play those cards right and she might give you some of it back." Jack glared at Evan who popped open a couple more beers and handed him one.
"I hate to lose. It's part of my fucking charm." They clinked bottles and Jack sat back, taking in Sara's pile of cash, then Craig's.  "Deal Future Mrs. Gordon. But rest assured, I know your bluff now." He stared at his fiancé. The look smoldered with something that made Craig's entire body break out in a chill.
Rob made a half hearted, half drunk attempt at a Jaws theme. Blake laughed so hard he nearly fell out of his chair. Craig sipped and made a vow: He'd take the next pot. All of it. Show the bastard.
The cards on the table were all diamonds: a ten, queen and jack. The table sucked in a collective breath.  Craig glanced at his. Jack of clubs, Queen of hearts.
Nothing.
The worst possible hand.
He smiled and rubbed his head, then tossed half his money into the middle of the table. Blake whistled. Evan threw his cards down. Sara stared at him, narrowed her eyes, and matched his bet. Rob groaned and stood up. "I'm done. For real." He put a hand on Blake's shoulder.  The other man didn't look up, but matched Craig and Sara's bet, sweetening the pot by at least another couple hundred bucks.
When it was Jack's turn he did the same, his grin wide. He stuck the cigar back between his lips and puffed. Evan sat at the table to see how it played out. Craig resisted the urge to fold and to wipe at his upper lip from nervousness. He held out a hand for a cigar. Blake handed him one and the lighter. He lit up and stared at the absolute nothing he still held, then indicated he wanted a new card.  Jack chuckled. "Nice try blondie." Craig looked up, keeping his gaze neutral. Sara cleared her throat and shot Jack a significant look.
The card did not improve his standing at all but he leaned back in his chair and puffed a minute, admiring the cocky asshole's taste in Cuban tobacco. Then shoved the rest of his not insignificant pile of cash to the middle of the table. Sara gasped which made the hairs on Craig's arm stand up. But he just smiled when she put her cards down on the table and nodded to him indicating her concession.
Blake laughed and stood, clapping Craig on the back. "You must be one lucky guy."
Craig resisted the urge to contradict him, keeping his neutral gaze on the man across the table from him. The man who had the woman he wanted. And would likely keep her. Jack puffed, ignoring him admirably, staring at his cards a minute, then up at the ceiling.  Finally after what felt like an eon, he put his cards face down on the table and gestured across the table.
"Oh, Gordon, such a pussy move. You disappoint me," Evan laughed and stood, finishing his beer. "Let's see it young Craig. What amazing hand wins that pile of my friend's dough?"
Craig kept his face still and turned over the two cards that would never in a million years have beaten even a half decent hand. "Holy shit!" Jack stood. "You fucker!" but he laughed. "Got a set of clanging balls on you my man, I like that about you." Sara stuck her tongue out at him then leaned in for a hug, nearly bringing him to his, admittedly more than a little drunk, knees with lust.
He stood, hit the bathroom and braced himself on the wall, staring at the television over the urinal, tuned to Sports Center. He sighed, flushed, washed up and went back out. Jack had pulled Sara into his lap, had a proprietary hand on her thigh. Her arm was around his broad shoulders.  She looked up at him and he bit down on the urge to drag her away from Jack and into his own arms.
"So, nobody drives after a night like this. Craig I have sheets and stuff for the bedroom down here," Sara waved towards the back hallway. Craig stiffened. Stay here? While she and Gordon did whatever they did upstairs. Hardly. He pulled out his phone.
"No, no, it's fine I'll call a cab." Evan draped an arm around his shoulders.
"Share it with you ya bluffing bastard."
He smiled. "Sure." Blake and Rob started upstairs.
"Keep it down you two." Jack called after them.  "Throws off my God damn mojo." He buried his face in Sara's neck. Craig looked away as she giggled and threaded her hands in his coal black hair.
Both of the tall, handsome blonde men flipped off their host and continued up, Craig assumed to some guest room. Sara stood, throwing her arms around him.  Jack narrowed his eyes at them both.  Emboldened by beer, he kissed her right on the lips, marveling once again at her perfection before disentangling himself, scooping up his winnings and heading upstairs to wait for the cab.

Oh The Possibilities...Craig Speaks, Will Sara Listen?

Greetings and welcome back to Sunday's Six Sentence Fun!
This snippet is from the recently released sequel to the critically acclaimed FLOOR TIME.
SWEAT EQUITY is book two in a trilogy.  Sara and Jack have been engaged, broken it off and she still obsesses over him (and vice versa) BUT....fate has dropped a lovely diversion in her lap, in the form of the tall, blonde newbie realtor, Craig Robinson.

Let's hear from him a moment just before their lovely first encounter. She has insisted it is merely a mutually beneficial ramp up in their "friendship."  He has agreed...sorta.

The steam from the pool, the familiar chlorine smells enveloped him as he moved closer to her. His pulse raced but he kept his movements slow, relaxed, determined, and ready to fulfill whatever she needed from him. He was winning this one, he knew. Jack Gordon would be a distant memory once he was through with her, maybe not tonight, but very soon. No, she said it herself--just friends--with lovely benefits. He grinned, and yanked a mental pillow over the voice reminding him he was likely already halfway in love with the woman.

Across the Bar with Mary Quast

Welcome to my Beer Bar Mary! What can I pour you to start?I'm a bit spoiled on Michigan brews and  willing to try something new.  A  little birdie told me about an orgasm in a glass she had here so how about one of those? (Thanks, Stephanie Beck!)NO problem. I'm guessing that is my bourbon barrel aged Oktoberfest...So, first and foremost: you are Maize and Blue? or Green and White?Green and White, when I was in college I used to zip over to State on Tuesdays to study with my cousin for a couple hours then hang with my best pal at the bar for a couple more.  Good times...sigh.  So that's out of the way....Tell us about your new 1NightStand book from Decadent.Handcuffs & Silk was my first "real" erotic romance and of course had to throw in my usual twist to the storyline.  She's a tough Vegas cop and he's a New York Lawyer... yeah, sounds like a typical romance right?  He's actually a sub and brings out the Dom in her during their one night stand.  Then.... they reverse their roles!  Oh....by the way.... the cover for Handcuffs & Silk features the delicious Jimmy Thomas was created by the talented Fiona Jayde.  This sensual cover is featured in a Cover Contest over on You Gotta Read Reviews.  Zip over there and vote for H&S.  http://yougottaread.com/category/cover-contest/ I can let you in on a little secret.... I just submitted another story to DP for the 1Night Stand series.   Shhh.... can't say much except he's a crow shape shifter , takes place in the Poconos, and there is a scene where they have sex while flying.  We're looking at a summer release.  I love writing for  the 1 Night Stand series.  1 Night Stand (1NS) is the business name of an exclusive online dating service, owned by Frenchwoman  Madame Evangeline. Aside from direct verbal contact with Jackson Castillo, owner of the resorts where most of the one-night stands take place, Madame Eve is never seen or heard (think Charlie from Charlie's Angels). Since this is a high-end, very expensive matching service, Madame Eve does an extensive background check on all of her clients before she matches them up (so it's safe).  With this in mind, we can let our imaginations flow as writers.   Yes, I've enjoyed writing for it too.And your journey to becoming a published author--was it smooth?I had issues with an agent in the beginning.  She charged me and never submitted my work to the publishers she said she did.  Luckily, when I contacted those publishers they were willing to still look at my work.  I published three books with Vanilla Heart Publishing.  Painted Soul, Tormented Soul, and Lonely Soul are no longer available in print or eBook.  However, readers might see revised versions of them in a year or two back on the market.  Going to writer's conferences is a great way to meet other writers, editors and publishers.  This is a business where networking is very important. I have been very lucky to have met so many wonderful people who I now call friends.  You are in an amazing blog group--romance writers behaving badly. How did that get started?I was looking to create a blog with a few other writers to share in promoting our works.  After chatting with a few ladies from Romance Divas, we decided to start up the blog.   The author lineup changes occasionally, but the core group is still there.  We have a ton of fun and can get pretty naughty... thus the name "Romance Writers Behaving Badly".Oh look an empty glass---what can I pour you next?Give me another one of these.  I'm feeling all warm inside.  *wink, wink*Yeah, about that pig...oh never mind. What's up with this Queen of Hearts free read? Why give it away? This little story actually came from an event we held last year on RWBB; each of us wrote Valentine stories to be posted on the blog.  Queen of Hearts is mine.  I'm offering it free for the month of February in honor of Valentine's Day.  After some little revisions, the story will be back online for sale.  During the month of March, I'll be offering another free story..."Love Me Knot" for St. Patty's Day.   Tell us about your latest WIP.Which one?  LOL I have a tendency to work on more than one at a time.  I have plans for two more stories for 1 Night Stand.  One will be about a character readers meet in Handcuffs & Silk. The other will be about an arrogant artist and his over worked assistant, we'll see who really gets worked over. Let's see... I have Taming Rachael.  This started as a short story written for RWBB.  Each of us were giving the same photo of a woman's hands tied with pink ribbon & lace to inspire a variety of stories.  My short then turned into a longer story.  It's basically about a couple who meet again at a class reunion that leads to their own erotic encounter in the hotel room.  I'm also revising the books in the Soul Series .  To top it off I have outlines for another book in the Soul Series and four books in another series plus a single title.  However, these books will be novel length. What are your publishing goals?I hope to publish 2-3 books a year.  Ideally, I'd like to do that plus one novel length book in print form.  Electronic books seem to be the bread and butter of the industry right now.  By promoting my work via workshops and doing readings with fans still keeps me involved in a personal level with my readers.   I love writing and my mind is very prolific when it comes to creating characters and stories.  Okay, time for a nightcap what's your poison?Give me something to warm the cockles of my heart.  I'm not sure what cockles are, but it was something my dad used to say.Okay, this should do it...a Faustian Stout Baltic Porter.Liz, I'm feeling cozy and in the  mood to give away a good book to curl up with.  Pick one of those who leave a comment to this post and I'll send them the PDF of Handcuffs & Silk.Don't forget to vote for Handcuffs & Silk in the February Cover Contest  at You Gotta Read Reviews.
Thanks.   http://yougottaread.com/category/cover-contest/

Casey Sheridan Ogles the Goodies Across the Beer Bar With Liz

Liz: Welcome to my Tap Room Casey! What can I pour you to start?
Casey: Thanks for having me, Liz! Hmm, I'm not much of a beer drinker, but since you're a brew master, why don't you pick something that will teach me to appreciate a good beer. Are all your bartenders tall, dark and handsome like this one?
Liz: PLEASE, first of all I am no brew master, but I pay a guy....and don't ogle the staff. It makes them sassy then I have to smack them back into place.  Here, try my Premium Lager, it's a nice gateway brew to craft.So.... Vibrating panties eh? Where did THAT inspiration come from?
Casey: Well, in all honesty, I don't own a pair. Although, I do think they'd be a lot of fun. The inspiration for Number 69 came from a friend of mine. Indirectly. Sort of. She wrote a short story for a contest where the prize was a pair of vibrating panties. When she told me what she had won, my imagination just took off and it snowballed into the story NUMBER 69.
Liz: What was the first book you had published? Was it an easy journey?
Casey: The first book I ever had published was titled, Scarlett's Wolf with Cobblestone Press under my former pen name of C. L. Casey. I wouldn't say it was an easy journey. It takes time, especially when you're starting out and don't know all the ins and outs. I'm still not sure I know all the ins and outs. There's a lot to learn about your craft, about submitting your work, about publishing, etc. But I have enjoyed every step I've taken thus far.
Liz: Are you one of the lucky ones who could write all day if she wanted you? This my clever way of asking if you have a day job.Casey: I wish I could stay at home and write all day, but unfortunately I have a day job. I get to work with some pretty things, so it's not such bad job.
Liz: Oh, no, an empty glass! what's next for you?Casey: Whatever I can lick out of that cute bartender's navel works for me =)Liz: *Smacks Dan away* SEE I warned you...here, try the Amber Lager, it's a step up into the realm of maltier beer.Liz: I see there is a superhero romance in the works for you....sounds like fun. What is your process? do you head write? outline? character map? or fly by the seat of your pants?Casey: I guess I'm a combination outliner/fly-by-the seat-of-my-pantser. I know what I want to happen and when, then I just fill in around that. Sort of. Maybe. Hard to say really.
Liz: Tell us more about Number 69.Casey: Gee, what do you want to know? Number 69 is about Melodie Kane, who is very conservative in appearance partly because she doesn't want to attract the attention of her boss, even though many women find him attractive. Deep down, Melodie is in touch with her sexiness, especially when she gets a push from her friend, Trudy, who secretly signs her up to attend a match making party where the vibrating panties come into play, Melodie gets pissed at this, but she ends up going to the party and  loosens up, especially when she runs into gorgeous doctor, Elliott Stevens. She has loads of fun with him.
Liz: How do you market yourself?Casey: Very badly! -HA! I'm not good at promotion. I do try to post blogs, guest blog when I can, do interviews with super great people such as yourself. And no, that's not the booze talking either. Well, maybe a little. =) Giveaways are another good promo thing I like. When I have a new release, I pick one subscriber of my blog at random to  win a copy of the release on release day. And, you and I are giving away a pdf copy of Number 69 today since it's my birthday, after all.
Liz: Okay, nightcap time: what's your poison?
Casey: If it's okay with you, I'd like to take the bartender home with me.
Liz: Ah....nope.  His girlfriend would never forgive me. *smacks Dan away once again*

Seven Year Switchin' with ....um...hang on....

Hello everyone!

First, let me offer my sincere apologies to the followers at Brewing Passion. Dana Littlejohn will not be blogging today. She is completely overwhelmed with her blog tour and exhausted. In her place she has sent Sonja Winters, the main character from her book The Seven Year Switch. We have decided to interview her since she is here. Enjoy!
How are you today Sonja?I'm well, thank you.
I understand congratulations are in order on your new position.Thank you. It took a little adjusting because the whole situation was new to me, but now that it has been over a year I think I have the hang of it now. I hardly ever have to use the paddle on Kyle these days. He knows what is expected of him now.
Oh my! Pardon me, Sonja, but I think we are having two different conversations. I was referring to the new partnership you were awarded at your firm. What are you talking about?  Oh! Forgive me. I misunderstood. I thought you meant my relationship with Kyle. The firm, yes, thank you for that as well.
So, you have a new position that requires you to spank your husband?Yes, but I don't do it that much anymore. He knows his duties now.
His duties? Okay, let's back up. How did you transition into this new situation with Kyle?I was trained by Mistress Bianca on basic handling skills and then I did my own research to find what would fit us best.
Bianca? Another woman taught you how to handle your man? In a manner of speaking.
Does that make her friend or foe?Bianca is neither. She was merely a tool to help us move to the next level of our relationship.
I see. So does Kyle still work? Doesn't he have his own construction company? I have allowed Kyle to maintain his daily life. He needs structure and consistency, but when he is home his duties are directed toward maintaining the home and my needs.

Wow. I have never heard of such a drastic flip in marital roles. Is this common? We are not alone in our choice. The wife-led marriage is not as popular as a traditional marriage, but it does exist.
Wife-led marriage. That's a new term for me. What does it mean?It simply means that since I am his mistress-wife all decisions are made by me. I am in control of what happens in our relationship.
Mistress–wife? Does that mean you switch back and forth between the two?No, I am one in the same. I will always be his wife. His life partner, a loving spouse and I love him dearly, but I am also his mistress. He bows before me and does my bidding. I reward or punish him depending on how he behaves.
So this isn't one of those role-play games that many couples indulge in? No. This is a chosen life style.
Is it a secret? No more secret than anything else that happens within the privacy of one's marriage.
I understand that your friend Charlene was privy to this information from the beginning. What does she think of the whole thing?  Charlene is very supportive. She says if it works for us she's happy for us, but it is not her cup of tea.
Well, I must say, Sonja, I have learned a lot during this interview. I'm definitely interested in reading your story to see how all of the changes in your marriage came about. Thank you for taking Dana's place and stopping by to talk to us. You're very welcome. I'll be sure to tell Dana what a great place Brewing up Passions is.
Kyle appears with a glass of chilled wine for his wife as we close the door on the interview with Sonja Winters.Thank you, good readers, for checking out our interview with Sonja Winters. If you would like to read about Sonja and Kyle pick up Dana Littlejohn's The Seven Year Switch. It proves to be an interesting read!

Tag:Could you make the switch from dutiful, submissive wife to paddle wielding queen bee to save your marriage? Blurb:Sonja Winters was enjoying the good life with a great job and being married to the man of her dreams. As she prepared to celebrate their seven year anniversary she came across a secret that her husband had been keeping from her that would alter the course of their marriage forever.
Excerpt One"Yes, I understand." Bianca sat next to her and openly looked her over. "I see now why he chose you. You are beautiful and strong. You will be able to control him well."Sonja scoffed. Her anger at the situation came back, fueled by Bianca's nonchalant description of her ability to deal with her husband. "If you're talking about my husband, I was controlling him just fine until you came along." "Hmm, I can appreciate how you must feel, but you do not have all the facts."Bianca clapped her hands and two men appeared. They looked similar to the biker guy who led her into the room except they were much younger and more firmly built. They dropped to one knee and bowed their heads."Yes, Mistress," they said in unison.Sonja's eyes widened and her jaw dropped. Bianca's voice roused her from her stunned state."Sonja, would you like a drink?""Uh…""Coffee, tea, perhaps a glass of wine," she offered."Umm, yes, a glass of wine would be nice.""You heard her and bring fruit, too," she told the men.Sonja's emotions teetered between anger, confusion and amazement. These large and strong looking, fully grown men were seemingly at Bianca's beck and call. They left the room to do her bidding with only a comprehensive nod. She turned a look to Bianca. Sonja was sure her face reflected the surprise and shock wavering inside her over the men's behavior. It was hard to hide as she looked at her hostess.  "Please, allow me to explain. These men come to me from various places and all walks of life, but they all want the same thing and they pay me to give it to them.""Uh-huh, and what's that?""They want to be dominated by a woman."

Excerpt Two
"Submissive men will always seek strong women because they are in need of her guidance," Bianca said continuing her explanation.Bianca's voice was in an audible octave, not at all a whisper for Sonja's benefit or to spare the feelings of the men. Sonja sipped her drink and sent a quick glance toward them. To her surprise, they stood at perfect attention, staring straight ahead showing no signs of emotion at all to what Bianca just said. "Yes, well, I wouldn't know that, Bianca. My husband is not a submissive man.""No disrespect to what you think you know, Sonja, but I beg to differ. Kyle is, in fact, a submissive man. He is what I call an alpha submissive. At work he can be very dominate and extremely aggressive when it comes to other men, but with a woman he has the desire to be humble and subservient."Sonja crossed her legs and turned her body toward her adversary. "Look, you must have my husband confused with another one of your men," she sent a pertinent wave in the men's direction, "because I know my husband. Kyle and I have been together for—""You have been together for the last ten years. You met while you were still in college. Kyle's company was doing a project on your campus. He bumped into you, and you guys have been together ever since. Since then, you have graduated and have become a successful lawyer. You and Kyle were married October fourteenth, and yesterday made your seventh year anniversary. You have no children, but you want at least two, and a dog. You are leaning toward the Jack Russell breed because you want a smart dog that will not out-grow the child physically." Sonja's eyes widened as she raised the cup to her mouth."Have I left anything out?"
