The White Van

I live in small town Iowa. Its peaceful, quiet and safe. So safe its probably dangerous. The other day my daughter went to take the dog out when they woke up. While the dog was doing his business she saw a white van parked in front of our house. She came in and told us about the creepy van. We looked out the windows and verified yep there was white van sitting there.

A couple hours later my wife went to take the dog out (he is a ten pound fluff dog and food just runs through him) and...

NaNoWriMo and Coffin Hop

Trying to watch Saturday Night Live, can't get into it this evening. Its not funny this week at all. That makes me sad when they have a dud. I have been a fan my entire life and really look forward to Saturday nights. Oh well.

I also should have raked my yard today but I didn't. Looks like we had a leaf blizzard out there. I will be tackling that tomorrow.

Today I started working on a new short story. I am calling it The White Van. Not sure if that title will stick but I pounded...

Indie Horror Halloween Treats #5

Still going…I had planned on pumping out a review of a different Indie Horror flick in my collection every day in October. Yeah good luck with that, right? I am up to 5 now. I consider that a pretty good percentage since its the 12th. 5 out of 12. If I won 5 out of 12 times I pulled the handle on a slot machine (well pushed the button, I'm lazy) I won something that I would be beside my self with glee.

If I was beside myself I would have bigger problems then where to stash all the cash I ...

Indie Horror Movie Halloween Treat #2

As the sun slips under the flat, freshly harvested fields and the stars slowly awaken, I write about the second movie in my Halloween Treat marathon…tonight's feast is a fun flick called "The Janitor"

The Janitor is a 2003 Clean Kill Productions horror comedy. It fits the bill on both horror and comedy!

The Janitor is the story of Lionel, a lonely custodian who's days and nights are filled with taunts and teasing from the office workers in the building he cleans. On top of that, his dream of b...

Halloween Treat: Reviews of Obscure Horror #1

It seems like everyone is blogging about various creepy crawly things this month….I had to jump in and think of something different. Lots of people are blogging about their favorite or best horror movies to watch this month. I think that's great but I am going to give that a little twist….

Obscure, low-budget horror! Its one of my secret obsessions. I have dozens of the low budget gems lining my shelves down in the basement (where ManLand is located)…so I am going to try and talk about...

New short: The Blood Knows

Been working hard on another short horror story called The Blood Knows…its grinding through beta readers now and final editing sweeps….people are saying great things about it and saying its pretty creepy! Working on the cover now…thought I would share a sneak peak here!

Its about a woman scorned, exhausted from hours of "anger driving" needing a place to rest…what she doesn't know is that vengeance will be served but the cost will be very high
