I Had a Fan Request for...
The story about Atriedes, brother to Daemon in Deadly Liaisons. I have started it and it is 20,000 words into the making, called Dangerous Liaisons.

He resisted the dark huntress…now he'll use all his powers to make her his own.
Tezra Campbell treads a dangerous line between her job as a telepathic investigator for the Hunter Council and her alternate life as a renegade. Beneath her cool, professional exterior lies a dark obsession to find the rogue vampire who murdered her parents ten years ago and left her sister a traumatized shell. An obsession that drives her to use herself as bait.
Daemon, former bastard prince of Scotland and now head of the American vampire clans, sees Tezra as a danger to herself and to his people. Especially if the killer vampire takes her bait. Concerned his own brother might be accused of the crime, Daemon takes Tezra into custody, intending to keep her out of the way so he can find the killer himself.
Things don't work out the way either planned. The more she fights him with her telepathic powers, the more she stirs up his sexual bloodlust—the kind only a mate can cool. And Tezra begins to wonder…is her desire for him real, or just a way to use Daemon to find the murderer?
It's a deadly game they both aim to win—even while they try to keep their hearts intact.
Warning: Romance with a bite!
And: The Ancient Fae
Work in progress. Ritasia's story is at 28,000! 4th book in the World of Fae series.
And I had a request for The Vampire...In My Nightmares, sequel to The Vampire...In My Dreams.
I have the title written. :) I had more, but lost it. *sigh*
And another Highland historical. A Highlander to Love. 12,000 written.
And The High Elf, sequel to The Shadow Elf. 2,000 words, I think. Eloria is tasked with the job of bringing Persephonice back to the ship...but what if she can't find her on the elf planet? Or what if she does, and Persephonice doesn't want to return with her? Eloria's commander happens to be Persephonice's father. What if he's so angry if Eloria doesn't accomplish her mission, he abandons her on the primitive planet too?
Persephonice is given the mission of distracting the shadow elves who are bound to learn what is blocking their water source before they discover a space ship is sitting in the middle of their river. That's how all the trouble begins.
Persephonice is an overseer--an observer and recorder of information about inhabitants of civilized worlds. Only she's lost her lifemate and cannot be an overseer without one. She's given a second chance if she can prove she's worthy if she can survive an inhospitable planet inhabited by elves and other mythical creatures she's only read about, very little of which is known of them except that they constantly battle amongst themselves and are not civilized enough to safely observe.
The shadow elf, Dracolin, a warrior given the task of learning what is blocking their water source, doesn't expect to find the most unusual creature he's ever encountered--a red-haired, green-eyed land-bound mermaid. That's only the beginning. She understands and can speak his language, falls off cliffs without injuring herself, and swims like a mermaid--without the fishtail.
Everyone is intrigued with her--except some fear her uniqueness and want to destroy her. That is the problem with observing uncivilized worlds.
Of course, Tom's story in Silence of the Wolves, about 20,000 words. The Jaguar shifter 2 story, the beginning. And I've been thinking about the new Highland wolf story. Cearnach keeps bugging me...some woman runs him off the road and...
You see sometimes that's how it all begins....
And I've got the beginning of the Emerald Isle of Mists, from the trilogy of the Magic of Inherian.
Scepter of Salvation
Mage of Monrovia
The problem is I get stuck with a conflict or plot, and so I play around with another story, so that I can at least feel I'm getting something accomplished. And by doing so, I do get more of the other stories written. Then when I go back to the one I was stuck on, I often can work some more on it. :)
Plus the scenes begin to pop in my head for the various stories. And I HAVE to write them down or I'll forget them. Then what happens is I can't quit writing on the story, and voila, the story is on it's way. :)
Now, if I wasn't working full time, I could write during more hours of the day!!!
Don't you ever get distracted from what you're doing? Start one project and see something else that needs to be done, begin working on that, and neglect the other?
I know it's not just me! :)
Have a totally terrific Sunday!
I've ordered print copies of The Dark Fae so I'm ready to give some away at guest blog posts as soon as they come in! Woohoo!

How Do Women Respond to Winking?
Have you ever been winked at? What does it mean? How does it make you feel? Ever wink first?
When I began thinking about this, of course I had to have pictures, and pictures tell more of the story. In this case, she's winking because? I think she's just swallowed something she wasn't expecting. So more of a reflexive taste-bud reaction, not a real wink. :)

In this case, well, it's a bottoms up, a happy-go-lucky wink, don't you think?

And yes, the flirt.

And there's the come-hither kind of wink.

And the, my eye's glued shut and won't open properly wink.

And of course the conspiratorial wink. Hey, you know, wink, wink, get it?
So what about you? Ever wink and why?
Have a super Friday!!!! TGIF!

Thanksgiving Already?

The wolves are on the hunt--looking for the fattest, juiciest wild turkeys they can find.
What's everyone else planning to do?
I love Thanksgiving, the feasting, the family gathering, the games and fun.
I'll be working most of Thanksgiving, but will share a meal with my daughter and her husband.
That will be a first where she cooks the meal! :)
Only two more weeks and the day will be here! Turkey, potatoes, gravy--that's all I need and I'm in wolf heaven. What about you?

What Do These Books Have in Common???
Okay, really, they all have something in common. One is a western time travel ghostly romance, one a medieval Highland romance, one a vampire romance, one a werewolf romance about a werewolf and a human woman, and another about a werewolf and a woman who's not exactly all human.
What do they have in common? The title of the one reveals it all: FORBIDDEN LOVE.
I was talking about conflict in a workshop with one of my students about Forbidden Love and how it starts out with a prologue because I couldn't show the love the hero and heroine have for each without showing their beginning.
And that got me to thinking about how so many of my books have that theme: forbidden love.
Even Winning the Highlander's Heart has that same notion where the Highland lady is to be wed to a Norman lord of the king's choosing, but a Highlander wants her for his own instead, losing his heart could mean losing his head, literally.
Why does forbidden love seem to work so well in stories? Immediate conflict. Mom and Dad are against the marriage--hmm, instant desire to marry anyway.
The king will off their heads...it doesn't matter. And truly, there were a number of true cases over the centuries where queens did die and their lovers murdered because of infidelities, so it's not just a case of pure fantasy.
But for pure fantasy, it's fun to create stories where the poor hero and heroine should not fall in love--vampire vs huntress, a roguish Highlander and a demure English lady, the cop and the prisoner, the wolf and the human, the jaguar and the human...oh yeah, bring on the forbidden love!

A Wolf Battle

I know, I know, they're really playing. But doesn't it look like a wolf eat wolf world?
Do you ever feel like that? That if you say the wrong thing, you'll get your head bitten off?
What do you do? Well, see, if you're a wolf, you bite right back. That's right.
In every wolf book, I have to think of new...no, not think of, but find new wolf behavior details I can use in a story.
So just like with each of the earlier stories, in A Highland Wolf Wedding, I reference what a wolf biologist called one wolf when describing her. Now, it's complimentary in a way, but on the other hand it compares her with a dog. And so, not really the best of compliments. The wolf biologist didn't know better though. Still, Duncan sees her in the same way, not in the bad way, but in a good way.
In Dreaming of the Wolf, well, I had to research about how ordinary citizens could keep wolves as pets. :)
In A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing, ...how wolves can be SEALs. LOL
In Savage Hunt...oh, wait, that's about big kitty cats, and of course, all that I included in the book will be stuff I researched for the story.
Now, if a jaguar decides to do a headlock, whoever the intended victim is, probably isn't going to believe this is play. They have the strongest most deadly bites of any of the big cats, even though they are the third largest cat!
I'm off to work and hope that it goes well and no one is doing any biting today!

Storms!!

She sees the storms looming overhead. That's really me...a little green under the gills still. It's storming really bad! Yay, we so need the rain!!! It's supposed to continue like this for another day.
At work, a patron asked if I feel as bad as I sound or not. I feel as bad as I sound. The problem is the coughing too. I start coughing, and can't stop. I know the lady I was trying to help wanted me to hurry up and give her library card to her so she could get away from germy me. I wanted to get away from me too. :)
I'm off to bed but I just wanted everyone to know that I'm still alive. :)

Horrible Histories--King Henry VIII
Well, I'm still not feeling really chipper, but I definitely feel better than King Henry VIII's wives!
You know, it's all relative. As I was listening to an audio tape where a woman is accused of murder, and nearly loses her life, she's freezing, has no money, warm, dry clothes, is wanted, and well...it makes me realize just how fortunate I am to be just sick.
LOL
That's what I love about fiction. It's fun to read when you can enjoy someone else's misery, hopeful they will have a wonderful ending...and not really feel all their pain in getting there. :)
In my stories, Winning the Highlander's Heart and The Accidental Highland Hero, the king who is ruling England at the time is King Henry I. He had a ton of mistresses, and tons of kids. But at least he didn't have so many wives!

Off to work on some more guest blogs. I swear they keep multiplying and I keep thinking I'm getting closer to having them all done, but they're like dust bunnies! :)
Ever find that a job you are doing keeps multiplying and is never done? Besides the dishes, of course....
Have a super day!

A Highland Wolf Wedding?
That's what the new title for the Highland Wolf in Paradise is supposed to be, but don't quote me on it, yet. :)
With wolf (werewolf) happily ever afters, the wolves don't get married. Normally.
But you know how it is--life is full of exceptions. So in the case of titled wolves (werewolves of nobility), they have to marry in a traditional wedding. Just to ensure that non-wolf types recognize the legitimacy of their offspring and their claim to title.
Normal wolves don't bother. After all, mating is for life and they don't need weddings to make the commitment to each other in such a formal way.
So no fairytale wedding stories for wolves, although in Dreaming of the Wolf you'll see an exception also.
Now these stories are strictly human style marriages that confirm the happily ever after. But then, they're strictly human! :)

I'm Sick Again...
Okay, enough already! Actually, I've been sick since the last time, only it's gotten worse again. Coughed all night long. And am coughing all day long too. argh.
If I go in to see a doctor, all he'll say is I have allergies. Or something so inane. Or if it's a cold...same thing. Can't do anything for it. My teeth hurt. Sinuses. And my head hurts, probably from all the coughing.
But it's all in my head. Like before.
So I'm feeling like awful and wishing I was one of my werewolves as they wouldn't keep getting sick, unless they have the Wolf Fever and then that's even worse than just being sick.
Ever been that way? Where you can't seem to get rid of being sick????
