Are We There Yet?

Today's "tea" is KTeas's Rumtopf Fruit Tisane, because the last thing I need right now is any more caffeine. This seems to be The Book That Will Not End! Thank god for patient, understanding, kind-hearted editors.

I'm not a great one for tisanes, but this one is really good, made of hibiscus blossoms, wineberries, elderberries, strawberries, raspberries, and natural flavor. For once the hibiscus tartness doesn't overwhelm the other flavors. It goes well with Panera's fresh apple pastry, too.

And yes, that is a tea bag but it happens to be one I packed myself from loose tea, so there. ;-P

So, forging on. And on. And on. And on . . . Bilairy's balls, Seregil, quite talking and kill someone!

Wordsmithing

Still writing. I have managed to use the words "unguent" and "escutcheon" in the same chapter. I feel so erudite! Oh, and someone is coughing up black stuff.

I think Seregil should have one of these

Or maybe I should. It's called a bollocks knife, for obvious reasons. Love it!

Bring It On! (The tea, I mean)

Today's writing tea is my super drug, a double shot of Hibiki-an's Super Premium Matcha, in a Shigaraki chawan, from same:

Skit Report

Skit, our feral garage kitten who moved with Oscar in last fall, remains untamed and uncaught. She proved far too smart for the Have-A-Heart trap. We're trying to lure her into a carrier with bowls of food, but so far no joy.

And of course, she's in heat now. For the past several nights we've been awakened by horny cat love ballads from the garage. Last night we boarded up the hole in the door, but today I caught a long haired buff-colored "gentleman caller" out there. Oscar, who save for his attachment to food, has achieved perfect enlightenment, views it all with unhelpful equanimity. Our only form of feline birth control so far is the dogs, who break things up when they're outside.

I suspect we will have more garage kittens in a few months. Perhaps we can catch them all then. If the suitor I saw today is Mr. Right, at least they'll be pretty. *sigh*

Today's work tea is dedicated to Japan

In honor of Japan, I am mindfully drinking American Tea Room's delicious Honyama Sencha, steeped in a Norbu Cast Iron Works "Komon-Sakura" tetsubin from Sensational Teas. May their beautiful, fertile culture rebound from this awful time in their history soon.

More Tea!

Today's work tea is Silk Road Tea's Golden Monkey (Jin Hou) (www.Silkroadteas.com) Lovely Chinese black with lots of cocoa and leather notes. The Nightrunner cup can be had at: www.cafepress.com/flewelling. It will come without the scratches. Puppy Jackson did his "dog thing" on it a while back.

I'm in the crunch to finish and polish up Casket of Souls, which takes lots of tea. Today's choice is Norbu Tea's Jade Earring Green: http://www.norbutea.com/2010Spring_JadeEarrings_GreenTea?category_id=1 served in my favorite cup, made by local potter David Porras: http://www.davidporraspottery.com/
