Simba Concert Is June 20
Simba will perform a public concert in Dummerston, Vermont, near Brattleboro, on June 20. The concert will be at the Grange hall at the corner of East-West and Middle roads. At a recent Simba concert, at least 100 people danced for hours. The band plays reggae and funk, among other kinds of music.
Massachusetts Minimum Wage Could Go Up This Summer
A bill to raise the minimum wage in Massachusetts passed a key legislative committee vote last month. The only legislator from the Valley listed as a supporter on the bill’s web page is Representative Ellen Story of Amherst. Five People In Seven Years Killed by Police in Keene Area
On April 17, one or more Keene police officers shot and killed Julio Angel DeJesus in Keene. On April 19, a professor of Criminal Justice at Keene State College told the Valley Post he expected a decision by April 21 from New Hampshire attorney general Michael Delaney on whether the shooting was justified. This photo was taken at the 200 acre Griswold Conservation Area, which is owned by the town. Fiddleheads should not be taken from the park.
