Item: A courtyard It doesn't have to be as grand as this, but I'd love to have a place with a courtyard. It speaks to the European Romantic in me. Plus, how fabulous would a courtyard party be? And I'd love to be able to say, "Oh, I'm in the courtyard," or "Fuck off! I'll be in the courtyard!" It just makes everything that much more cinematic. Anyway, I think this is a 'want' that might have to remain just that for a while longer. Until then, I'll be in the courtyard in my mind...

Music Review: Eurythmics, "Peace"

I love Annie Lennox and Eurythmics. And if I had to choose a favorite Eurythmics collection, it would be their last studio effort, Peace. This CD was unfairly dogged when it first came out, and I'll never understand why, though I suspect it has to do with the more subdued nature of the recording. This is not the daring sound of early Eurythmics (though, there are evocations of that incarnation in songs like "I Want It All"), but a more placid, reflective group of songs. This is a winter CD...
