Saturday Writing Rant

So, I was got up this morning and decided to send out a query for one of my manuscripts. I have three of them just sitting here, begging to be printed, and personally I think they're my best work. The problem is, they're not in any easily definable genre so describing them to a press gets a bit tricky.

Anyway, here's my rule for sending a query: If the guidelines get too complicated, forget about it! I know that's lazy, but Jeezus Christ! "We want you to indent but not by using the TAB button....

Cry Like a Rainstorm

I used to love this song, but I totally forgot about it until recently. The big ol' choral ending gets me every time. I like the video idea of a simple cassette player. That's how I listened to it. I wore that tape out. Keep in mind I didn't get my first CD until 1992 ("Diva", Annie Lennox). I used to say I'd never give up my cassettes, then I said the same about CDs. Never say never, right? Though, I still get CDs, I've no doubt that will come to an end eventually.

Valentine's Day, Trailer

LOVE ACTUALLY is one of my favorite films from the past decade, so this Americanized version of it interestes me. My only problem with the trailer is they're not telling the audience that Julia Roberts and Bradley Cooper are not hooking up with one another. The Bradley Cooper character is gay and dating Eric Dane in the film.
