One Good Thing
I woke up this morning to a wonderful Facebook message from my friend Jak. Yesterday, he had been in LA at Chi Chi Larue's store on Santa Monica Boulevard, and the two books I wrote forewords to, Patrick Fillion's
Illustrations
and HvH's
Gone to the Movies
, were "prominently displayed." Yay! I love seeing books I have worked on, in whatever fashion, on actual bookshelves. Well, I'd love it if I ever actually saw it. But hearing about it is just as good. I also love hearing about the success of my friends Patrick and HvH. Good Things all around!

Joel Burns, It Gets Better
I'm late in posting this, and I regret that. So deeply moving it gives me the ugly cry. You knosw the one. Your face scrunches all up and you have no control over your tears or your quivering lips. Fort Worth City Councilman Joel Burns with one hell of a message:

Saw this his morning and I couldn't help but laugh. I guess this is from Rolling Stone. Kurt's gonna get some.

Dawes, "When My Time Comes"
This was a song I merely liked at first, but now I really love it. Plus, the kid in this "Cool Hand Luke" video is ADORABLE.

One Good Thing

Found this today. A pic of me a few days before I left Florida very ill in September. I was at one of those mystery dinner theaters with some friends. I like wearing my hair like this. Shaggy feels good, despite the fact that it makes me look like I'm a teenager. Btw, I'm wearing a Goonies t-shirt in the pic. I'm that cool, bitches.

One Good Thing
On the way to get my flu shot today I got to see all the colors of the season. Madison and Hanover really do offer some breathtaking scenery. The hills and the college are overlooked beauties. I think the gays should make the area the new "it" place. Pulling up beside the Fountain in Madison (the very same fountain which can be seen in the 1958 Vincent Minelli film Some Came Running with Frank Sinatra and Shirley MacLaine), I was witness to quite the artistic moment. The Fountain, now shaded a lovely greenish tinge, is surrounded by large pots of bright yellow flowers, and behind the fountain, in some majesty, stands a giant tree, crowned in fiery red leaves. It's a beautiful thing to see, the whole thing set ablaze by the time of day. Autumn. A good thing. I'm glad to be alive today.
