Gordy: New Sketches By Absolutbleu
As you may all be aware of, the sextacular artist Absolutbleu and I have worked together on my Kid Christmas stories for Dreamspinner Press. These fun little adventures are about a young muscle hunk who takes over the gig as Santa Clause (for adults only), and Absolutbleu did an amazing job interpreting what I wrote.
Recently, when I decided to take my gym bunny character "Gordy" from my anthology Slight Details & Random Events to his very own adult comic book, Absolutbleu, of course, was the first name that popped into my head as the artist. With the help of Adam Gragg, the script is coming along gangbusters, and here be Absolutbleu's very first sketches of the new "Gordy." Yaaay!!

30 Day Blogger, Day 22: A Website
Like everyone, I visit a boatload of websites every day. I was going to choose a friend's site but I don't want to be accused of favoritism. Instead, try Hyperbole and a Half. This woman cracks my shit up. Not only is her writing hilarious and spot-on to the "everyday," but her little drawings that accompany each post are such fun!

30 Day Blogger, Day 21: A Recipe
I was tempted to write out my mom's fudge recipe but that's become something of a family secret, so instead here's one for vegetarian meatloaf I got (copied and pasted from the email he sent me) from horror maestro Rick R. Reed. Enjoy:
NEAT LOAF!
4 eggs
2/3 envelope Lipton Onion Soup Mix (the whole packet measures 1/4 cup, souse slightly less or use the whole packet if you like the onion soup mix taste) - for vegetarian version substitute dry soup mix without beef bouillion
1/3 LB low-fat ricotta cheese
1/3 LB firm tofu (mashed into small pieces)
1/4 cup vegetable oil of choice
1/3 cup onions
1/2 cup cooked brown rice
1/2 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. basil
1/4 tsp. rosemary (fresh is good)
4 cups (dry measured)
Special K (note: this approximately equals 4 oz or 113grams of the cereal by weight)
1 1/2 tbsp. garlic
FOR THE SAUCE:
1/2 cup ketchup
1/8 cup Dijon mustard
1/4 cup molasses
1/8 cup to 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar (to taste)
Pinch cayenne ground pepper (to taste)
Beat eggs in a bowl, and then add all other ingredients except the Special K. Mixwell and then add the Special K last. Put in pan that is sprayed with cooking oil. Bake for 1 hour. Pour sauce
over loaf after 1 hour, and bake for 10 more minutes.
