June 4, 2022: Coming To Kickstarter: The Official Munchkin Bookmarks Campaign Of Ocean Dice

We're launching a new Munchkin Kickstarter campaign next week, and this time we're sending our favorite loot-grabbers to the clear blue sea! 

The team has created six new Munchkin promotional bookmarks, one for each of the new Ocean Dice set we're scheduled to start shipping to our distribution partners later this year. The new campaign offers a shot at just the new bookmarks, or you can go dice wild and grab one, two, or more of these new dice sets! 

In addition to the new bookmarks and dice, we're also including a reward level that gives you another chance at the 2022 Mystery Box , a mailer carton loaded with over $200 worth of Steve Jackson Games titles, including randomized expansions and accessories.

June 3, 2022: A Spiffy Munchkin Anniversary

This month is the tenth anniversary of the Munchkin episode on TableTop. I got to play Munchkin on TV (very different from playing a Munchkin ON TV) (or is it?)). My fellow Munchkins for the afternoon were Wil Wheaton, Felicia Day, and Sandeep Parikh. It was an amazing experience – I had never been close to the real Hollywood before – and the stars were all great people.

And they gave me a very good game. The end was truly Munchkiny. It involved negotiations – but I'm not going to spoil. You'll have to watch it yourself to see what we were negotiating about, how it came out, and how the game ended.

Not only was the episode a lot of fun for me personally, it did Munchkin a lot of good – and it's still doing good. It was such a great session, with such great players, that for the past ten years people have been watching it and thinking "I should try that game."

So thank you, Felicia, Wil, and Sandeep. I'll never forget that day, and your Tabletop show just went from strength to strength. (O Gentle Reader – If you have never seen TableTop, I hope that watching the Munchkin episode prompts you to binge. You'll see a lot of great games, well played!)

June 2, 2022: Add Munchkin Farkle To Your Family's Game Library!

Munchkin Farkle is our twist on the classic Farkle dice game, which is a favorite with many out there who are not intimately familiar with the tabletop game space and the unlimited number of new games that continue to reach game tables everywhere. June 1, 2022: Kickstarter Reports, June 2022 Update

We are currently working through five active Kickstarter campaigns, one of which is officially complete (and will not appear on this report again) and four that are in – or entering the fulfillment stage.

Two of those active campaigns offered international rewards. We are eliminating international print reward levels from all crowdfunding campaigns until the state of the world changes. Between the expenses and time involved in international fulfillment and the stresses of dealing with different customs and legal requirements demanded by others, it simply isn't a good use of our limited staff time and resources to keep struggling with shipping Kickstarter rewards to other nations.

We wish that this wasn't true. The reality, though, is that international crowdfunding fulfillment costs a lot more than shipping within our own country (and we do not receive enough funding to offset those costs), and the results are rarely good for the project backers (and never good for our staff). Going forward, we will only offer digital rewards to backers outside of the United States.

Knightmare Chess  is back in stock and now shipping! The classic game of chaos on the chessboard has been reprinted in a combined edition that includes the two original Knightmare Chess sets in a single box. This is a direct-sales item, meaning that it is currently only available from Steve Jackson Games through our online store – Warehouse 23 – and from brick-and-mortar retailers who have direct sales accounts with Warehouse 23.

May 28, 2022: Learn Zombie Dice With Watch It Played!

Zombie Dice (and Zombie Dice Deluxe ) recently received a great tutorial video from our friend Rodney over at Watch It Played! It's awesome to have a well-produced tutorial for one of our all-time bestsellers. While it's not the most complicated game, some folks learn better from watching rather than reading rules, so it's always good to have a variety of options. Plus, if you are thinking about buying it, it's a great way to get an unbiased view on how to play so you can decide if this push-your-luck game is up your alley. May 27, 2022: Ogre Video Game Now Available On Switch

The  Ogre  never dies . . .

Ogre  has taken many different forms since its creation in 1977: board games, minis, books, pocket boxes, and video games, to name a few. The first Ogre video game, released in 1986, was made for the Apple II, Amiga, Atari 8-bit family, Atari ST, Commodore 64, MS-DOS, and Macintosh. There was a long video game hiatus after that offering became obsolete, but recently, we partnered with Auroch Digital to introduce the  Ogre  battlefield to online gamers. Auroch released Ogre for Steam in 2017, and because you can't have too much of a good thing, Ogre is now available on your gaming console! Auroch released the PlayStation and Xbox versions last week, and as of May 25, everyone's favorite evil AI supertank is also available on Switch!

The  Ogre  video game for console includes the  Ogre  and  G.E.V.  rules, plus some improvements and upgrades from the Steam game. Never fear, Auroch back-ported all of the goodies to Steam, so no matter which platform you prefer, you can play the latest version. 

Ogre  fans, this is your chance to convert folks who would rather play video games than board games. Then, who knows, you might be able to draw them back to the table once they're hooked!
