What a Change in Eight Years!

Today, July 7, 2024, is a special day. It is the eighth anniversary of the opening of the Ark Encounter. Wow, eight years! God has been so faithful over these years to use this attraction to encourage Christians and challenge unbelievers with his gospel. Enjoy these photos showing the massive changes that have taken place since the Ark opened.

This photograph was taken on the ribbon cutting day (July 5). Compare it with the photos of the Ark Encounter attraction today! What a difference.

Enjoy These Beautiful Ark Photos

We frequently enjoy beautiful skiessunsets, sunrises, rainbows, and moreat the Ark Encounter themed attraction. Recently, one of the Ark Encounter culinary staff members, Kathryne, took some beautiful pictures of the Ark, and I wanted to share the photos so you can all enjoy them.

The Most Basic Form of Learning: Are Plants Conscious?

The more we learn about Gods creation, the more we realize we really dont know very much! Take, for example, an emerging field of research recently highlighted in the newsplant intelligence. Most of us dont think of plants as possessing intellect, considering they dont have a central nervous system. According to new research, however, plants do possess a form of intelligencebut can we go as far as some researchers and say they are conscious?

Heres the claim: acco...

Three Prayer Points for Independence Day

Happy Independence Day! On this quintessential American holiday, you are likely grilling out with family (shrimp on the barbie?), attending a local parade, and preparing to watch a fireworks display (or set off one of your own). But as we celebrate and contemplate the freedoms we enjoy as Americans, I thought Id share with you some prayer points and encourage you to stop and spend time in prayer today for our nationsomething we are commanded by God to do on a regular basis.

First of all, t...

Pastor Claims Blessed Are Those Who End Pregnancies

Two headlines recently caught my attention. Both were utterly shocking and a good reminder of Jeremiah 14:14:

And the Lord said to me: The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I did not send them, nor did I command them or speak to them. They are prophesying to you a lying vision, worthless divination, and the deceit of their own minds.

The first headline featured statements from a female pastor (who previously has bragged about killing two of her children in abortions) who preac...

JWST and Star FormationAn Example of Observational vs. Historical Science

The James Webb Space Telescope continues to make the news as new findings surprise, and even confound, the secular astronomers interpreting the data (remember, facts dont exist by themselves. All facts are interpreted based on ones presuppositions). But what do we make of recent headlines such as, Stunning JWST image proves we were right about how young stars form? (Actually, this is nothing new . . . its just the latest chapter in the same rehashed star-formation story from evol...

Thank You to Our Longest-Serving Employee

I wanted to share a huge thank you todaya thank you to Kathy, the longest-serving employee of Answers in Genesis (other than the three founders: myself, Mark Looy, and Mike Zovath). Kathy headed up our administration department and recently retired after 30 years of serving the AiG ministry.

To say thank you, we had a special retirement dinner for Kathy with her family, friends, and colleagues last Friday evening.

Ministry Update: 3D Printer Farm and Giant Anteaters

Do you have a 3D printer at your home or work? At the Answers in Genesis design studios, where exhibits for the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum are built, we have many 3D printersand we just added more to create a whole farm.

Our talented design team has just added a bank of one hundred 3D printers that will be used in creating the thousands of houses and other buildings for the massive indoor scale model of first-century Jerusalem that is currently in process.

Below, youll see some...

Construction Update: Recreational Building Complete

We praise the Lord that we have housing (known as The Landing) on the Ark Encounter property for seasonal workers, interns, and Answers in Genesis mission outreach (such as the Catalyst program). And were excited to be nearly finished with an upgrade that residents of The Landing will enjoy.

This upgrade is a new recreational building to be used exclusively for our interns, seasonal staff, and temporary staff during their time living at The Landing. It will be a place where they can have fun,...
