April 27, 2023: The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror Marathon, XIX – XXIV!

#TheSimpsons Treehouse of Horror XX
Season 21: Really enjoyed the first segment with all of its clever nods to Hitchcock. The final segment, however, was devoid of laughs and probably the worst to date.
Favorite line – Homer: "Another politician who can't keep his promises." pic.twitter.com/H0MRMxknS3

— Joseph Mallozzi 🏴‍☠️ (@BaronDestructo) April 25, 2023

#TheSimpsons Treehouse of Horror XXII
Season 23: Although it felt more like a Family Guy episode, I thought the first segment was stellar. Second was good. The third, not at all.
Favorite line – Ned to prostitute: "Spend less time on your back and more time on your knees." pic.twitter.com/zjnlKCFPME

— Joseph Mallozzi 🏴‍☠️ (@BaronDestructo) April 26, 2023

#TheSimpsons Treehouse of Horror XXIV Season 25: Light on laughs all around though the Dr. Seuss parody was inspired. Still, the winner by far was the killer Guillermo del Toro opening sequence.
Favorite line – Homer: "And that, kids, is how I met your mother." pic.twitter.com/G2nSx3cLAe

April 24, 2023: The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror Marathon, XIII – XVIII!

#TheSimpsons Treehouse of Horror XIV
Season 14: Two great segments bookending a so-so entry. Reaper Madness and Stop the World were a return to inspired and hilarious form.
Favorite line – Homer: "I'll curb him, without enthusiasm." pic.twitter.com/R33i3u0mN3

— Joseph Mallozzi 🏴‍☠️ (@BaronDestructo) April 23, 2023

#TheSimpsons Treehouse of Horror XVI Season 17: Another mixed bag. B.I. was my favorite, but I felt all three segments ended weakly.
Favorite line – Apu: "Ha ha! You can't kill a Hindu!" Immediately gets caught in a trap after reincarnating into a rabbit: "Help me, Jesus!" pic.twitter.com/ppPVHqQrNf

— Joseph Mallozzi 🏴‍☠️ (@BaronDestructo) April 24, 2023

#TheSimpsons Treehouse of Horror XVIII
Season 19: Mr. and Mrs. Smith is the weak link here whereas E.T., Go Home really harkens back to the show's glory days.
Favorite line – Homer: "Wait a minute. Why am I getting a word in edgewise?" pic.twitter.com/ESbBQHW0gE

April 22, 2023: The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror Marathon, VII-XII!

#TheSimpsons Treehouse of Horror VIII
Season 9: Another three solid entries and, as much as a I love a good post-apocalyptic homage, Easy Bake Coven gets the edge here.
Favorite line – Marge: "I just wish we hadn't filled up on all those kids before we got to the Flanders'." pic.twitter.com/jGd2DwuH0Z

— Joseph Mallozzi 🏴‍☠️ (@BaronDestructo) April 21, 2023

#TheSimpsons Treehouse of Horror X
Season 11: An overall improvement from IX. My favorite was Life's A Glitch, Then You Die with its end-of-world humor and darkly comic twist ending.
Favorite line – Homer, after Krusty calls out feebly: "I can still hear his voice on the wind." pic.twitter.com/1sE23KnBJu

— Joseph Mallozzi 🏴‍☠️ (@BaronDestructo) April 22, 2023

#TheSimpsons Treehouse of Horror XII
Season 13: House of Whacks gets the slight nod here over Hex and the City, but not a strong outing.
Favorite line – Homer: "But if I died, she'd be completed free. For man or machine." pic.twitter.com/srUI0nWXBY

April 20, 2023: The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror Marathon, I-VI!

Kicking off our Treehouse of Horror marathon discussion.  Who’s watching and what did you think?

#TheSimpsons Treehouse of Horrors
Season 3: Enjoyed all three, but The Monkey's Paw is the absolute stand-out with its meta critique of The Simpsons phenomenon.
Favorite line – Marge: "Homer, there's something I don't like…about that severed hand." 2/3 pic.twitter.com/hXcaSIQWD9

— Joseph Mallozzi 🏴‍☠️ (@BaronDestructo) April 19, 2023

#TheSimpsons Treehouse of Horrors IV
Season 5: Loved the Night Gallery-esque framing sequence. My favorite was Terror at 5 1/2 feet, a terrific riff on the classic Twilight Zone episode.
Favorite line – Mr. Burns coming back to tell Homer "You're fired!" before dying again. pic.twitter.com/CV1OWIFg5m

— Joseph Mallozzi 🏴‍☠️ (@BaronDestructo) April 20, 2023

#TheSimpsons Treehouse of Horror VI
Season 7: The last two stories, Nightmare on Evergreen Terrace and Homer3, were equally great.
Favorite line – Chief Wiggum after a desiccated Willie threatens their children: "Oh, right. How are you going to get them? Skeleton power?" pic.twitter.com/xL8Rm4o65M

April 18, 2023: Happy Birthday, Akemi! And our Treehouse of Horror marathon is set!

The results are in for our Treehouse of Horrors marathon…

Things kick off Wednesday (tomorrow) with the first three episodes of The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror –

Season 2: “Bad Dream House”, “Hungry are the Damned”, “The Raven”.

Season 3: “The Monkey’s Paw”, “The Bart Zone”, “If I Only Had a Brain”.

Season 4: “Clown Without Pity”, “King Homer”, “Dial Z for Zombies”.

About an hour’s worth of creepy cartoon goodness.

Thursday will see us move on to seasons 5-7.

Today is Akemi’s birthday!  We celebrated with gifts (instant noodles, a necklace repair, chocolate, and a 10-pack of dried seaweed), a lunch outing, and Japanese cheesecake!  She also made mirin (that will be ready in about six months, in time for MY birthday).

Suji joined in the festivities…

Today’s Yes/No…

Frank's RedHot SpaghettiO's? Yes/No
Thanks(?) to @Thogar for the tip.https://t.co/PYem6N49G6
