Disappearing
...to North Wales and Milford for a week, leaving the household in the capable hands of other residents and the dogs in the capable hands of friends. Have a great week, everyone!

Autumn
...is definitely here on the Somerset Levels. We've been waking up to mists in the early mornings, rosehips and hawthorn berries, and a slight chill, although the days have been warm. Trevor and I have both been working flat out, but our lodger has organised assistance in picking up windfalls and mowing the orchard, so we're actually well on track for Milford and N Wales next week. I've been working my way through crits for the workshop beforehand: we have a packed program this year.

REPOST: Diary of a Witchcraft Shop
Diary of a Witchcraft Shop
Reposted, as a lot of you were at various conventions!
When we started this blog, a number of people kept asking me when we were going to bring out the Diary of a Witchcraft Shop as a book.
Well, now we have!
It's going to be in e-format, at least initially. We're launching Volume 1 at Samhain, and Volume 2 at Beltane. The first volume covers the first couple of years of the shop when I came on board and features all the things you've come to know and love from the blog...

Dartmoor
I drove down to a very misty Dartmoor yesterday to attend the Rivenstone festival: this is a small alternative music festival hosted on their property by Carolyn Hillyer and Nigel Shaw, who will be known to some of you for their music, art and workshops. This year featured a forum named Dream the Land, and I went down to read some of Rob Holdstock's work: a considerable honour to be asked, and it was good to represent someone who was my friend and the friend of many of you, I know.

OK, so this LJ crosspost thing....?
What have they done now? And why have they done it? - she bleated, plaintively.

September
It is. There's a very autumnal feel to Somerset at the moment - when I woke this morning, the fields were wreathed in a light mist and there was a pair of deer in the opposite field, the buck grazing along the hedge. It smells like autumn, too. We had an early start and I went over to Wells market: picked up some lamb and a purple cauliflower.
We had to go down to Minehead yesterday and the countryside looks fantastic - deep red or brown ploughed fields and the hay all in bales. We're suppose...
