Weekend

We have both been working, and busy: I've had several tarot readings to do over the last couple of days, as well as the shop(s). Cleaning out the conservatory, I found some little daffodil bulbs that had, without water or any other assistance, grown and flowered: the stems are only an inch long.

We went out to dinner at a local p

RaceFail 09

This is under a cut, as it's long.

I haven't made any public posts on this one on this LJ, although I have posted a couple of things elsewhere, as I have had the feeling that anything I might have to contribute is akin to my running up to an exploding train and throwing a bucket of petrol over it. The thing has now become so toxic, however, that conversely I am not sure that even a bucket of bile is going to make much difference, and I have been asked why I haven't commented.

So. A number of peo

TWILIGHT

I have now finished this, and didn't not enjoy it. I thought it was reasonably well written (much better writing than some other vampire novels, anyway), although the pace is quite slow. Spoilers ahead.

I don't think I have any new insights into this, but my take on it is mainly that I am not the target age group. If I'd read thi

Guests

We had a very good evening yesterday with a visitor from Loyola University in Chicago (he's a Baptist minister) who is undertaking research on the nature of pilgrimage, and another Christian guest who wants to understand a little more about paganism (particularly the goddess-y end of paganism). Paganism doesn't have a theology per se - it's more a free-for-all, but our guest provided some very interesting distinctions.
