Bath Spa
We have spent most of the day at the Assembly Rooms in Bath, at a small trade fair. They had some good stuff, some of which will be appearing on the shelf of a witchcraft shop or two in the near future. After this, we braved the downpour and found a tapas bar, where we had lunch, then took refuge in the Raven. The rain has now blown over and turned into a bright, windswept evening.

John Michell, RIP
I just had news that the esoteric writer John Michell has died, of heart failure. This is perhaps more appropriate news for
witchcraft_shop, but the demographic on this LJ is quite wide, so I am posting it here.

St George and nightjars
Walking down the High St last night, I was suddenly accosted by St George, in full armour and a sword, who leaped out of the doorway of the George and Pilgrim, exclaiming 'Ah! a damsel!'
Explained that I was not, however, in distress and St G disappeared.
In other news, I spent some of yesterday afternoon outside and there was a terrible row which lasted for about half an hour between two brown birds and the rooks: the brown birds rattled and whirred like, well, football rattles. I think they wer

Whilst I am obviously a SF fan...
...I'm not sure we really need to be going down this road:

What if she turns to the dark side? Although it might take some of the heat off being a pagan.

Pagan Federation Conference
This has taken up most of our weekend, but T has blogged his own details on
witchcraft_shop. It's been great to see so many people in town and I spent yesterday listening to some interesting talks, including Nathan Harris, Peter Jennings and Christina Oakley Harrington from Treadwells bookshop. C talked about grimoires, and this gave me a couple of story ideas which I need to make some notes on today.
If I am correct, Christina is a former lecturer in Medievalist studies and she knows her stuff.

End of the week
Though the start of the working week (again) for us. Actually, I lie - we're attending the Pagan Federation annual conference in Glastonbury tomorrow. We're the sponsors.
Yesterday, we went to the April race meeting with friends and came back through some truly vile weather - around Bristol, the rain was so heavy that I had to slow to 30 mph. By the time we crossed the Mendips, the sun had come out, but now the rain has drifted south to Somerset. It's not quite as wet as it was, though.
