Writing

Due to the course which we are running, and on which I have been concentrating over the last couple of months, I've not been paying as much attention to the writing. However, it is the first of June and for the next couple of months I will be focusing a little more on MORNINGSTAR, the latest in the Chen series. I left it at 16K, so will be aiming to finish it by mid autumn.

There's also an idea for another book which I'm kicking around at the moment. The world currently exists in short story form

This has just amused me

A Kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children while they were drawing. She would occasionally walk around to see each child's work.
As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was.
The girl replied, 'I'm drawing God.'
The teacher paused and said, 'But no one knows what God looks like.'
Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing, the girl replied, 'They will in a minute.'

Pup!

So, running about with the cat's dish in your mouth and occasionally banging it against the floor is possibly a hint that you're hungry?

Latest hobby: digging an enormous hole in the lawn.

Lily

I initially locked this post, but if you scroll down a bit you will find....a puppy.

Her name is Lily and she came to live with us yesterday. She has been pretty good so far, and she has spent all her life with 3 cats at the rescue centre, so the conversation went like this:

Lily: You're cats!
Cats: Yes, we are! Don't try anything!
Lily: But!
Cats: No, really, we mean it.
Lily: Okaaaaay...

Sid swiped her this morning but her biggest shock was me: she'd evidently forgotten I lived here, despite checki

Margaret the Spy

This is an article about the Pembrokeshire village of Solva, where retired intelligence operative Margaret Allan has recently died, leaving a large legacy to the entire village, including her psychotic cat who has apparently now attacked a BBC cameraman.

I know Solva very well, since all my father's family are from the nearby town of Haverfordwest (if you read the article, you'll see a reference to a lady named Noote, who are my grandmother's family: Flemings who came over to S Wales generations

Here we go again

Well.

We are on the Rottweiler rescue list.

It is very soon after poor Bear's death, and we miss her dreadfully, but....little Lily needs a home.

Trevor picked her up today. She has expressed her feelings with some force, by throwing up all over the back seat of the car.

Her mother's name is Bella. She is the spitting image of Bear, but we cannot have her: she does not like cats. But she comes from Somerset (this rescue is in Bicester), and T is wondering if she is of the same line as Bear.

Cat

Well, there's a surprise!

http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2009/may/29/cats

The animal was not tamed by the human, it looked the human up and down, liked what it saw and decided it would put on its cutest expression and pretend to be friends

Evening

It is a still, clear evening with a small moon and there is a cuckoo calling across the fields.

Facebook redux

OK, I am running into problems adding people. I.e. I think it thinks I am a spambot. It keeps suggesting people to add, and when I now try to add them, I get a warning.

Suspect am not familiar with the ways of its people.

Facebook

I'm on Facebook, under Liz Williams. Have gradually been sending out messages - not planning to post much, but I said that about LJ.

ETA: due to confusion due to an extremely commonplace name, if you email me at liz (at) arkady (dot) org and let me know what you're under, I will add you!
