TWILIGHT

I have now finished this, and didn't not enjoy it. I thought it was reasonably well written (much better writing than some other vampire novels, anyway), although the pace is quite slow. I suspect this is because it's essentially a romance rather than a thriller (I have huge issues with the Anita Blake books, but Hamilton is good when it comes to pace).
