Winter...

...is upon us. I have had a limited presence on this LJ recently, due to a fairly massive shop refit (we've basically been moving the contents of one shop into another, with predictable results). We've spent most of this week sorting out the attic, and doing the shop windows for Christmas. Amazingly, it is now done. We have a lot of help at home, and the apples in the orchard are gradually being bagged up ready for the cider farm.

Winter has come to the Somerset Levels - we've had some lovely clear days, lots of thin winter sunlight and heavy frosts. Each morning we see herons, snowy egrets and buzzards out on the levels, as well as the small birds.

Chen books and the short story subscription

Someone has just emailed me to ask if the Chen and other short story subs are still available - they are, and if you wish to book now, I can send you the first 6 stories (out of 12). Email me at: mevennen(at)hotmail.com for details. Some of you are waiting for the hard copies of the last set and I am due to print these and send this weekend. DIARY OF A WITCHRAFT SHOP is still in its final stages, and thank you for your patience!

IRON KHAN is due to be published in e-form and possibly a limited edition hard copy by Morrigan Books in December - we're very close to a release date and pre-ordr details, so watch this space. Morrigan will also be publishing the next novel in the Chen series, MORNINGSTAR, next year.

Deity: Celebrating the Divine Masculine - repost

I posted this the other day, and am now re-posting. Together with artist Lynn Bastian of Herotica, I will be producing a series of limited edition, hard-copy m/m erotica, based initially on the Greek gods, but moving out into other pantheons over the course of the next year. Lynn's work is already known to many visitors to Glastonbury and is rapidly becoming popular with collectors.

Each bound pamphlet will be hand produced on parchment, with illustrations taken from Lynn's original work, painted specifically for the 'Divine Masculine' series. The written work (short story length) will be by me, including two invocations, and is entirely original. All copies will be signed by both Lynn and myself, and are produced with serious magical intent.

We will be producing 300 copies of each pamphlet, priced at £20 each (£35 if you order two). We are aiming at a launch date of December for the first two pamphlets: Orpheus/Hades and Apollo/Pan. If you are a slash fan, a practising pagan, a collector of erotica or all three, the Divine Masculine series would make an ideal gift.

Short Stories
Orpheus/Hades £20.00
Apollo/Pan £20.00
O/H and A/P £35.00

Query about agents

Does anyone from the hive mind have any opinions on agents who handle YA material (primarily in the UK). This isn't for me, but I would greatly appreciate any input.

Just a reminder that we are running a range of courses in Glastonbury this year, including the Basic Practical Magic course (below). Anyone signing up before the end of December will avoid a price rise due to the hike in VAT.

Diary of a Witchcraft Shop Vols I and 2 - repost

Due to the flu etc, I am somewhat behind with bringing this out, but I am aiming at sending it out to all those of you who have subscribed by the end of next week (thank you for your patience!).

When we started this blog, a number of people kept asking me when we were going to bring out the Diary of a Witchcraft Shop as a book.

Well, now we have!

It's going to be in e-format, at least initially. We're launching Volume 1 next week, and Volume 2 at Beltane. The first volume covers the first couple of years of the shop when I came on board and features all the things you've come to know and love from the blogs - magic and mayhem, spirits and standing stones, cats and dogs, people who know they're Druids and people who think they're fairies.

Volume 2 - the Voodoo Years - starts where the previous Diary ends. Who knows what will happen between Samhain and Beltane? Watch this space, or buy the Diary!

There's a lot of new material, as not everything makes it onto the blog. Volume 1 is written jointly by myself and Trevor, and Volume 2 will feature contributions from Jamie and Jack, our esteemed and long-suffering staff.

Each Diary will cost £9.99, but if you sign up for both volumes now, you can pay £16.99 for the pair. We will send you Volume 1 in a week's time (please let me know which format you'd like) and Volume 2 in the spring.

E-book options
Diary Vol 1 £9.99
Diary Vol 2 £9.99
Diary 1 & 2 £16.99
