New Writer's Week: Cassandre Dayne

UNCUFF ME
CASSANDRE DAYNE

I so enjoy writing in different genres. I’m lucky enough to be able to write in three. DH Black writes erotic thrillers and gritty m/m pieces. Dakotah Black writes a campy murder mystery series set in community associations. Cassandre – well she’s the resident wicked girl and the one who writes everything from sexy m/f, same sex, aliens, paranormal with vampires and were-tigers and BDSM. Then you can throw in anything else you might think about. I’ve often told people I can make any scenario into an erotic story and yes, I’ve been challenged. I love writing and can’t seem to stop. I’m the girl who dreams in colors and keeps a notebook with her at all times, just in case. And trust me, burning stories have come to me from all directions.

Oddly enough, I’m known more for my m/m pieces. For some reason readers just respond to my characters who try to deal with every day life while being gay. But… I do so love adding a little humor to my m/f pieces. I think as readers we long to escape our worlds of paying bills and dealing with soccer practices. We crave HOT romance any way we can get it. I enjoy bringing you the fantasy world, one you can see just about anything is possible. I have a little collection going and I call it the “Un” collection. First there was Unwrap Me – a very sultry holiday cougar piece about an all girl erotic book club and the tempting game they decided to play. One of all seduction of course. This is the second with two more planned and I simply wanted to bring you a very bad girl, one the readers are going to want to slap hard. And I wanted to allow cops to well, do their jobs. Untame Me is next on the list… I hope you enjoy.

Thank you so much for having me on your blog. I love being here!

SYNOPSIS

Danni Fuller is a professional dater, at least she should be given she’d been on about a bazillion first dates in her life. Oddly enough they almost never made it to a second. Her friends told her she was too brash and far too wicked in her ways to garner a man in the very southern town of Macon Georgia, but she scoffed. She refused to follow the rules, no matter if they were registered with the Sheriff’s Department or not. After a particularly scathing date with a politician’s son, she called her best friend to commiserate and drag the guy through the mud over a bottle or two of wine. Then she received a reckless driving ticket on the way home and she knew all hell was going to break lose – by her hands. Didn’t matter she got to lay her eyes on two of the sexiest men in the world.

Officer Santos Garcia had it bad for the feisty Danni, a woman he would love to have in his life, but first he’d have to tame her. That is if he could even get close to the rather uppity female. After almost forcing her off the road to get her to stop before killing someone on the road, he was ready to tie her down and teach her a lesson about excessive speeding. When a call came out of the blue, asking for assistance in corralling the vixen, he enlisted the scandalous help of his partner in setting up a court of law of his own making. After all the punishment should fit the crime.

EXCERPT
Danni Fuller gazed at the hulking blond mass of a man and while he was indeed hot as shit, all she could think of was running into the wilderness. While Mike or Mark or Matt droned on about his mother being his best friend, visions of a long session in the dentist chair, complete with a root canal, coursed through the back of her mind. Maybe if she had several teeth pulled, sans Novocain, she could actually handle telling him in no uncertain terms she would NEVER go out with the drab man again. Dear God were all men this boring? What she hungered for was something kinky, perhaps being tied to an iron bed and flogged mercilessly for hours. Then mystery man would force her to pleasure him, sucking and licking as he teased her relentlessly. After he exploded in her mouth, the dominant male would tell her in no uncertain terms exactly what she was going to be doing for the next week, maybe ten days. And the majority of the sin filled days she would be completely naked, doing his bidding.
Didn’t a single man in the entire world exist who could satisfy her dark cravings? Granted, there was something about what she considered the backwoods town of Macon, Georgia that dragged out all the stuffy and yet redneck kind of guy. And the sad part was she was supposed to really like this bozo. He was, after all, Senator Billingsly’s son and a young man on the fast track to stardom. Yeah right and pigs flew big ass time. Huffing, she plucked an olive from her martini, nibbling fiercely until she couldn’t take the drudgery any longer. Throwing back her drink and gulping, she gave him a heated grin and then shook her head. “You know what?” she asked, allowing her exaggerated southern accent to slither toward him.
“What, darling?” His eyes narrowed and then headed straight for her chest as he licked his lips. “Are you hungry tonight? Perhaps ready for dessert? Something slippery and wet?”
Dessert? Hell, she was longing to join a Monastery. Yep, for the first time in her life she was ready to purchase a Mumu. Raising her eyebrow Danni leaned over the table. “Sorry, sugar. I don’t think you can handle me. In fact, I think it’s time to leave.”
“Leave? But we just got here,” he whined.
“Yes, but quite frankly I’m bored to freaking death and if I have to spend another moment with you I’m going to either puke or kick your ass. Got it?” Jerking to her feet, she was damn glad she’d driven her own car.
“But Danni! I really think we could have something special!” Blushing, he struggled to get to his feet, knocking a glass of water to the floor in the process.
As she watched the crystal tumble to the floor, shattering into several dozen pieces, she yawned and then grabbed her purse. “You are obviously a fantasizer. As I said, you can’t handle me. I’m way out of your league.” Unable to resist she eased her hand out, cupping his crotch and groping, just like her mother had taught her to do. Danni shook her head over and over again and raised one eyebrow.
“What?” he asked, as he gulped and then slowly looked down at her action. A moment of agony crossed his face leaving him red and panting.
“Nothing. Very much a bit of nothing. They always say the ones with the biggest feet. Shame it’s isn’t always true.” Grinning, she gazed down at his feet and then back up into his bulging eyes before huffing. And this guy had pushed his almost celebrity weight in order to get her to even agree to a damn date. Asshole. Brushing her hand through her hair she hiked her flaming red mini-skirt up her thighs a solid three inches and took long strides away from the table. Danni couldn’t happen but think there was nothing quite like having the entire male population of the room follow you with their eyes, drooling as you swept by them. Holding her head high she made it outside the greasy spoon before she thumped hard against the exterior wall, kicking her stiletto against the course brick. “Fuck!”
Exhaling slowly she folded her arms and snarled as she glanced toward the full moon, longing for more than just a bit of black magic. Why they hell couldn’t she manage to get past a first damn date? One freaking date? For God’s sake dating a man wasn’t like rocket science. Was it? Growling and then stamping her feet in frustration, she was beginning to think she needed to pitch for the other team. Maybe at least she and some buxom blond would get to go shopping together, selecting slinky clothes and barely there lingerie before ripping them off in a flash of wanton passion. Mmm… She could envision two sexy vixens licking and sucking before pulling out the fake cocks. “Oh hell.” The ugly thought of cold rubber gave her the chills, not even if the hunk of a piece was thick and filled with powerful batteries, vibrating her into ecstasy. Nope. Danni loved men – no matter if they were mostly assholes and terrible in bed.
As she steadied her nerves and tamped back the ridiculous thoughts she headed for her car, ready to get home to a full bottle of merlot, a full selection of Luther Vandross on the CD player, a heated bubble bath and… Oh yeah, one thick vibrator, screaming with power. Wasn’t she just damn pathetic?
Her composure regained, she made it to the car without stumbling, making an additional fool of herself, or dragging some muscular hunk into the darkness. Without a doubt she was horny as hell and needed some relief, maybe a boyfriend. Well at least one wild night of damn good sex would do her world and perhaps her ugly mood some good. Maybe.
Sliding into the car she allowed her shapely and very naked legs to dangle from the open door just long enough a group of very young men whistled and gave her at least five carnal looks. Too bad they were young enough to be in high school. How to win friends and garner a romper room boyfriend in five easy lessons. That might just be her motto of the decade. When she started the engine, revving the super 8 for effect, Danni thought about her lack luster love life and groused over and over again.
Almost thirty-five and she’d had maybe one real relationship in her life. First dates were always coming and then nothing, not even a make-out session in the back of some cramped automobile. Nibbling her bottom lip she jerked the car into gear and screeched out of the parking lot. So toys would keep her company and fill her needs. Mmm hmm… For all her bravado she knew she was the reason men had issues with her or she had difficulties with every one of them. From studs to nerds, muscular giants with no brains to savvy businessmen, they were all made out of the same material. Ugly gingham.
Now she was cursing under her breath. Jerking her phone out of her purse, Danni almost careened into the oncoming lane. As the sounds of horns blasted across her hood, she rolled her eyes and managed to call her best friend in the world and the only woman she could commiserate with over several very strong margaritas. Brenda Yancy was smart as a whip and yet a real kinkster on the inside. There was little the woman hadn’t done. Damn, wasn’t Danni jealous? Hearing the happy chirp of the flaming redhead she couldn’t help but grin. Why the hell was the girl always in such a damn good mood? “Howdy stranger.”
“Uh-oh. What did you get yourself into now? Did you go head to head with the Sheriff or perhaps wrestle the UPS man to the ground?” Her laugh was laced with a dash of mischief.
“Funny. Such a roaring comedian.” Hearing nothing but a chortle on the other end of the phone she tapped the steering wheel. “Yeah, okay fine. Just another bad date and the guy was so…” She didn’t have a chance to finish her sentence. Now she longed to kick the woman who’d seen her through bad relationships and even worse jobs.
“You have to be kidding me? Another first date and nothing else? You are seriously on a roll, girlfriend. Might need to put you on an episode of The Bachelor or something. At least then you are certain to get laid once. God.”
“Again, take it on the road.” Sadly, the truth was just that and it hurt like hell. What in the hell had she turned into? The term “haughty” came to mind.

New Writer's Week: Gregory Allen

Fictional Limits in BDSMServing Her opens with Kimberly introducing Alex to taking rubber band snaps on his hard cock. After enduring this, Kimberly asks Alex if he would like to give her the right to do this anytime she wants or if he would like to put it on the list. The list, she tells him, is for anything either of them don't want to do; they put it on the list ahead of time to spare Alex having to say no to her.The list they use isn't real. Of course the list isn't real because the characters aren't real (just don't tell me that. What?), but even in their fictional world the list is an intangible one. The list exists, really, because I wanted to put limits on the BDSM activity of my characters.Alex is a submissive superhero, I love that about him, but there are things he wouldn't do, even for Kimberly, and she respects that. Which is fortunate because otherwise I'm not sure I'd find them interesting enough to keep writing about them. Their limits shape who they are, which makes them feel real. What they don't do makes what they do more potent.Alex met Kimberly in my first novel, Courting Her. His natural submissive tendencies were drawn out by Kimberly's dominant nature. On their third date, Alex has her over to cook dinner for her and after they eat, they sit down to watch a movie. Alex puts his feet up on the coffee table, and Kimberly, who has decided Alex shows promise as a potential boyfriend, gives her first order, for him to put his feet down. Alex obeys but not swiftly enough to satisfy Kimberly, and so she puts him over her knee for his first hand spanking. The scene is one I still enjoy revisiting and I hope readers of both books would be able to return to that scene and still feel the intensity of that moment. One way of accomplishing that is with limits. However long I keep writing about Kimberly and Alex, I know there are some levels of BDSM play they won't reach. There are activities they'll never engage in. I can't say exactly what those are because I don't know exactly what they are. They are as intangible for me as the list is for them. I know simply because I know them. The concern I have is that readers will view what Alex and Kimberly don't do as an authorial judgment against those behaviors. There isn't a lot I can do to prevent that, except clearly state, in my blogs about writing, or when generous fellow authors like Elise Hepner offer me a chance to guest blog on theirs (Thank you, Elise!), that that's not my intention. I write novels where men get stripped naked by women, beaten by belts, paddles, and canes, and denied permission to come for weeks at a time. I'd like to think I was open-minded before that, but it would be quite hypocritical for me to not be accepting of others' kinks, given that there are people who consider the activities Kimberly and Alex engage in disgusting, which breaks my heart, because I know they're two people who genuinely and deeply love each other.Thank you for reading! And thank you, again, Elise, for having me at your blog!

New Writer's Week: Lauren Murphy

Hi my name’s Lauren and I’m recovering from the craziness that has overtaken my life. I appreciate Elise providing this opportunity to assist me in my escape from the madhouse. *waves to Elise* Even though I’ve spent the majority of my life working on some type of writing or another, I’m still fairly new at this game. It’s not necessarily an easy one, not to say I expected it to be “easy,” I didn’t expect it to be quite this difficult either. Though I’ve managed to have two of my stories published, there have certainly been a ton of hiccups along the way. If you promise to stick with me the whole way through, I promise you won’t regret it. (I’m thinking a giveaway) *winkie winkies*

When I first decided to leap into the world of authoring (haha that made me giggle), I honestly had no idea what I was getting myself into. (No really I had no clue.)  My saving grace was that, I’d been lucky enough to find a community of wonderful authors who could help guide me. (Boy was I glad I had nice, thick skin.) At the time (we’re talking five years ago) I was working on a story (that will NEVER see the light of day) and all I wanted, was to see if I could finish it. A lovely friend, who was much further along in the world of authoring (now I’m just having fun) agreed to critique my work. After she proceeded torip it to shreds give me pointers for improvement, I had to really consider if I had what it took. She was wonderfully nice to me, though not my poor manuscript, and was afraid I’d never speak to her again. (Yes it was that bad… but then again, so was the story.)
Believe it or not, dear friends (We are friends, right?), that experience became my strongest motivation, to continue my journey toward being a published author. In retrospect, perhaps I am a glutton for punishment, but that’s okay, we all have our vices… right? I will tell you something I’m not though, and that’s a quitter. My friend and fellow author believed in my potential, and instead of seeing her critique as a rejection I saw it for what it was, motivation and encouragement. I’ve thanked her many times for truly giving me what I needed, the truth. And she was shocked that I still wanted to be friends, we still are. And guess what? She read through another story for me and loved it! That story is now my current release, entitled Curse of the Demon Queen! I love that I have grown so much as an author and enjoy knowing that I still have so much more to learn and so many ways left to grow!

Now for the moment I’m sure you’ve all been dying for. The freebee. The first person that can comment back on what truly motivated me to pursue my writing career gets a free copy of Curse of the Demon Queen. See not too shabby. ;)
You can read an excerpt here (http://www.cobblestone-press.com/catalog/excerpt/demonqueen.htm). My book can also be purchased here (http://cobblestone-press.com/catalog/books/demonqueen.htm), here (http://www.amazon.com/Curse-Demon-Queen-ebook/dp/B007Q2VKZY) and here (http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/curse-of-the-demon-queen-lauren-murphy/1111886494?ean=2940014676595)!
(Shameless plug, yes I know, but I’m thinking I might be allowed, at least this once.)
Thank you all for reading and thanks again to Elise for the opportunity! *Blows kisses to all*

2013 Goals in The Year of Fear

I've nicknamed the last month of 2012 and the majority of my 2013 "The Year of Fear" because I plan to do a lot of projects, submissions, and general epicness that absolutely scares the ever loving crap out of me. One of those things last year was writing my first full length novel at 82k--now this year I get to write two more by May. I'm currently working on Furious Temptation Book 2 of The Furies Series for SCP right now. Furious Lust Book 1 edits are going to be in my hands this weekend. Let's see how I do with that, shall we?

This year is going to be the year where I jump off the cliff and hope my parachute opens. At least I have really good health insurance. I've certainly started it off right with the Amazon Exclusive release of my two lesbian BDSM novella's Overdue and Resort to Naughtiness . Both of these titles are free with Amazon Prime so snag up a copy. Aside from a release schedule that makes me want to bring out my smelling salts ala Miss Pitty-Pat, here are my goals for 2013:

Dust off an old New Adult MS that when I wrote it no one was buying NA. My first paranormal romance and NA to boot. Tall order for me. It needs work, but I'll get it there.Submit a full length novel that I've been working on for a little over a year and a half to dream publisher for e-book publication.Submit a two novella's to traditional publishers that are opening digital imprints like Random House, etc.Submit category novelWrite first draft of super sekreet project for dream publisher for print publicationFinish The Furies Series, as I'm contracted to finish it with SCP--and it's funWrite 13 shorts for Cleis PressWrite at least two more novella's for ExcessicaWrite two novella's for ECWrite two novella's for XciteI think that's it. Not like it's an insane list or anything. But if I write 2k a day, every single day, I'll get there. And I write 2k in my sleep now snuggled up with my kitties. Let the fear begin and hopefully I can make it my bitch.

Naughty Secrets 2012 Edition

Welcome to my portion of the Naughty New Years Blog Hop where I reveal all my naughty secrets from 2012 and my goals to come to be a little less naughty for 2013. We can all hope not to be too bad--but sometimes the halo goes crooked anyway. Here are my lists of sins for 2012:

I used a flash drive as my only computer backup. When that blew up in my face I learned very quickly that Dropbox, an external hard drive that saves my whole computer on a daily basis, and multiple emails to myself are crucial to avoiding another meltdown over several months lost work. Lets not do that again, shall we?I ate way too much fast food. Ugh, we were lazy in the kitchen! Combine that with number 3 and it was no good.I became a first rate workaholic that didn't have time for anything save making words. So, I got a lot of words for 2012, but not a whole ton of peace and tranquility. I thought it was impossible to get as bad as I have been--turns out there's no off button in this business.I didn't read nearly enough books, yet I still accumulated them at a crazy rate. And I went to see way too many Twilight movies.Twitter made me it's little bitch with it's interesting conversations, publishing gossip, and overall awesome randomness.I didn't separate much from the computer. Will I rectify any of this stuff in 2013? I hope so, but I'm not going to make any for sure resolutions because when I do I wind up failing. So I'm going to be conscious of my mistakes last year and slowly work to turn them around while making time for what I love and living in the world just a little bit more. What are some of your regrets, solutions, or overall things you'd like to do differently this year? Comment to win a copy of my BDSM novella, Sextionary and to also enter the grand prize of which are a $100 gift card to EdenFantasys and a digital gift basket of 10 erotica books.

Plans for 2013 and 2012 Follow-up

Well, I had quite the ambitions for 2012, probably more than I knew I could feasibly make--but I did pretty damn good considering my year. Here's a recap of what I wanted to do for 2012, my goals:

Finish up two series writing 4 novella's in total for them (The Furies, Fairy tales)Writing 2 stand alone novella'sWriting 4 shortsWriting 3 stand alone novels

Of those goals I've managed 289,321 words for the year and completed 14 short stories, 1 full book, several novella's finished, close to finished, or started, with a smattering of other projects. I didn't quite finish two series--although one of my series got picked up for a three book contract by Secret Cravings Publishing. It shot up from a 32k shorty to an 82k monster of a book. The first book, Furious Lust, has a cover and a blurb below:

Blurb:One mistake can change a life—let alone an eternity.

When Tisiphone—a revenge demon working for Hades in the Underworld torturing damned souls—escapes for three days under the sun with a human male, her leash is pulled tight. Tisiphone’s banished from the Underworld to Earth and stripped of her demonic powers. But that’s not the worst fodder for her nightmares.

Cithaeron’s human life was dedicated to revenge, until a demon walked into it. The wickedly intense, sensually destructive Tisiphone takes over his life with probing questions and haunting caresses. It’s over in a blink. After centuries of torture in Limbo, Hades brings him back for a judgment call that could change their intertwined lives—dead or alive.

Their future is in their past. Their lust can burn each other to the ground. But they’ve got to learn to work together or they’ll both go to Hell for good.

And I'm working on the second book in the Furies Series, Furious Temptation, as we speak, or type. Whatever phrase strikes your fancy. The other fairy-tale series I was going to complete took a backseat again to a lot of self-deadlines and already contracted projects. Starting to wonder if I should continue them or simply put the idea out to pasture for the long run. I need to think it over for awhile.

As for writing two standalone novella's, The Ex-House is currently at 30k and growing with A Little Slap and Tickle still being worked on for further additions/revisions. ALST is currently at 28k and growing with some rewrites. So those two goals were very much met, even if the products aren't out yet.

I wrote enough shorts to feed an army this year--an army of hungry smut readers with a lust for short stories. I also still have a few unfinished pieces lingering in my files and oh, so many calls for submissions to answer in 2013. My planner is filled to bursting with goals.

Did I get to write three novels? Not so much. Yeah, I think that was one of those reach goals if I didn't have a real life to attend to. Those goals I make in a haze of caffeine, out of my mind, and thinking I can take on the world. Although, it is kind of neat that by June 2013 I will have that goal in my back pocket since the Furies Series got picked up and I have two more books to write by March to fulfill my contract. Before I rarely wrote long books, now I'll be writing two on deadline. Scary--and cool.

I've done a lot of things this year that could be defined as both scary and cool. Personal goals have been met and exceeded all across the board including getting my first acceptance to an Alison Tyler anthology, getting into a few Xcite UK print anthologies in bookstores, and getting my first three book contract. Not to mention even writing a 80k paranormal novel.

And my plans for 2013 are no less large because I crave goals that make me shake and shimmy in my pjs, sweaty at night with the "will I or won't I?" debacle.

Some loose goals for 2013, with more defined ones to come soon:

Break into three new publishers--because I'm a publishing hopper and I'd love to breach a few new e-book branch's of traditional publishing companies.Do a fun project that has absolutely nothing to do with ERom or Erotica. This one makes me super nervous, but I have to do it because I'm not sure if I can and it scares me. I've done enough research to know how to go about it, but actually going about it may make me cower in a corner. So many more anthology calls to write I'm gonna spread myself until I snap, but I want a giant pile of print books with my name in them. They bring me joy. So more of those. At this second I'm hard at work on a F/F short that needs to make it into a publisher by Jan 1st, because I was late thanks to holiday madness. So I'm trying to get this fantasy monstrosity off the ground for one last submission in 2012. Ending the year with a bang and more stress, because that's kind of all I know how to do at this point. Stay tuned for more hard and fast goals for 2013 and continual craziness from my padded corner with the kitties.

The BDSM Appeal

I'm guest blogging over at Skye Warren's hangout today talking about the allure and appeal of BDSM. What with the ressurgance in my chosen genre, why not talk a little shop? Remember, you still have until Dec 20th to comment on any of my posts to enter into the random drawing to win a 10 dollar gift card to All Romance Ebooks and all the sexy goodness within those walls.

Sexual Tension Ahoy
