Reemerging From A Writing Hole: An Exploration Done In Gilmore Girls Gifs
This whole writing thing is shiny and new, almost like rediscovering the love of my life. But it wasn't easy. I didn't wake up one day with a visit from a fairy godmother who rapped me over the head with a writing stick or a writing wand...or some writing implement. Nope, I had to fight teeth and nail for every inch of keyboard to monitor time. It's been a special journey that was something like this:

I'm in this anthology with a short story and it's coming out soon! For now, it's available for pre-order on Amazon. It's been awhile since I've been in an anthology and it's always a pleasure to work with Alison Tyler, so pick up a copy, if you please!

Out of Hibernation
I can't tell you how many times I've started and restarted this post over the past couple weeks while living with piles of boxes and unpacking still more boxes. After being away for so long and going through so much, I feel like this post should have a touch of magic or at least a kickass apology. Instead, I'm listening to the Y2K radio station on my TV, biting my lip, and nursing my emotional wounds with my dog in my lap.
It's safe to say I've moved, found a lovely house which I call "The Fairytale Cottage" and I've started to write more books in my attic office. My purple attic office. We all know how much I love purple. Pardon the boxes, it's still coming together.
But what's probably most important is that I'm writing again. After several long months I'm writing with a purpose. Would I write a little here and there while I was absent? Yes, but it always made me a little bitter. A little unsure of myself. To throw it all out there, I've developed a weird loathing for my career, for my love of writing, that I had to overcome over the past few months. My career--and my lack of success in that career--at least as far as my ex saw it, was a contributing factor in my divorce.
So while I was in the middle of my divorce, needless to say, I needed to take a break from my passion because it was very tangled up with other very raw emotions.
Is this the most professional post? I don't know. But, do I think you need to know the reason I've been so absent and haven't come out with new work? Absolutely.
In the meantime, I've been keeping myself busy doing freelance work and playing with my mini-dachshund, Quinn.
There are a bunch of books still in the works, kicking around in my head, or almost done on my computer. They'll be coming your way soon. And no, soon isn't code for six months from now, I promise. I'll also be making an appearance at Reading Until Dawn as a featured author Oct 8th-11th in Denver, CO.
If you're here and reading this, thank you for sticking with me. After a long absence I worry that anyone is still out there. But from here on out consider me back open for business.
Until later guys and dolls,
Elise
P.S. It won't be that long this time, promise.

Cover Reveal for Bad Boys Next Door Boxset Comes Out March 16th
Hi Guys and Dolls, I'm back to share a new project coming down the pipeline super soon, as in March 16th. I'm super duper proud of this project and all the authors who came together to make it a reality. When it goes up for sale you'll get 12 books for .99 cents, all of the epic awesome. So stay tuned for more information!
Bad Boys Next Door Box Set – Available March 16th, 2015There’s just something about a bad boy… It could be that neighbor you’ve had the hots for forever. Or maybe the guy in the cabin or office next door. It might even be a guy you meet on vacation or one you’ve known since you were a kid.
Twelve prolific authors, including New York Times Bestseller and USA Today Bestseller, Selena Kitt, and USA Today Bestseller, Jenny Trout writing as Abigail Barnette, present a sizzling collection of erotic romance sure to bring you to your knees and make you believe in love again – or, at least, lust at first sight!
Set also includes: Gwendolyn Cease, Bronwyn Green, Tilly Greene, Elise Hepner, Jessica Jarman, Sommer Marsden, Kris Norris, Paige Prince, Charlotte Stein, and Alison Tyler
Abigail Barnette (Jenny Trout) – Bad Boy, Good ManNewly independent real-life adult Ellie McCormack loves everything about her first apartment…except her neighbor. His bi-weekly sex fests keep her up at night in more ways than one as she wonders about the man who’s making all the noise—and what he’s doing to make his women so damn loud.
But even her wildest fantasies couldn’t conjure up a man like Antony DeLuca. When she works up the nerve to confront him, she’s expecting a player, but there’s more to Antony than his carefree sexual escapades. One hot night with him helps Ellie see through the man who drives women wild, to the good guy beneath it all. A guy that she just might be able to fall for…
Gwendolyn Cease – No Strings
All Kaitlin O’Neal wants to do is fix her sink. She’s intelligent and resourceful. Plus, she’s got her own tools. How hard could it be? Apparently, extremely hard, since her attempt left the sink in an unusable condition. When her next-door neighbor, Cameron Sinclair, offers to help her fix the mess and renovate the rest of the kitchen, she jumps at the chance. She’d be a fool not to, right? Cameron, though, is hotter than hot and makes her an offer she can’t refuse.Cameron has wanted Kaitlin since she moved next door. So what if she’s older than him? She’s beautiful, sexy, and he wants to get to know her better. He offers her a no strings affair—one he hopes will keep her coming back to his bed. Between home improvements and steamy sex, Cameron realizes that their no strings fling will never be enough, but can he convince Kaitlin he’s worth the risk?
Bronwyn Green – Drawn That WayTristan Weaver, accountant for a successful video game company, is in way over her head. Honestly answering a company-wide survey and criticizing the sexist stereotypes used in the company’s games was enough to catch her boss’ attention. But speculating on his sex life within his earshot has unexpected consequences when her hot, but nerdy, boss invites her to model for him.
Owner, artist and lead developer of Brecken Games, Rory Brecken, has a strict no fraternizing with employees rule. However, when he overhears Tristan’s conversation with her friend about his rumored kinks and begins to suspect her curiosity in the submissive side of sex, he’s more than a little tempted. When her interest is undeniably confirmed, he suggests a onetime only, colleagues with benefits hook-up.
Though neither want a relationship, once isn’t enough for either one of them. As their encounters become more intense, Rory makes a huge mistake that may cost him the woman he’s coming to love.
Tilly Greene – Her Wicked Ride
Mike Mulligan co-owns a garage and fixes cars. He rides a Harley, is covered in tattoos and has spent time in jail. Since being released he’s tried to live a clean life, but he’s a bad boy with women, very bad and terribly sexy. Bondage, domination, and so much more, are his preferences when playing with the ladies, and there have been a variety until the last one.
For the first time, he had to work for a yes. All summer, they’ve had fabulously wild no-holds-barred sex, but one morning everything changes. With chaos in the garage, a cup of coffee in hand, and a half-naked Sherry Gonzales in his lap, his eyes are opened to wanting more than sex with her. Mike’s solution is to go on a date, their first date.
The night starts out fine. But things get wicked on the back of his bike before taking a turn, but for the good or bad?
Elise Hepner – A Marriage of Inconvenience
When Izzy Thorton's mother falls ill and is given a terminal diagnosis the last thing Izzy anticipates is a proposal from her best friend, Sebastian Leery, to fulfill her mother's dying wish. Only one snafu keeps Izzy from saying yes—she's in love with him. But before she can say much of anything to his proposal, Bash takes the reins by telling her mother the good news.
Unable to fight her undeniable attraction to her playboy best friend—Izzy goes through with the best and worst mistake of her life. No sooner are the rings exchanged when they both realize their friendship can only bridge so many gaps. Sebastian has no hope of keeping his skeletons in the closet and Izzy doesn't know how much longer she can keep her heart out of the equation.
Together they fumble through the darkness of their past to a future that might just be a little more clear--if they can fight their chemistry long enough to talk.
Jessica Jarman – London Bound
After losing her husband six years ago, Meg Stevens has focused on the day-to-day and being a mother, not sparing a thought for anything beyond—no dates, no excitement, no life other than what she already had. A six-week vacation to London, all but forced on her by her two children, changes all of that. Meg meets the man of her dreams—gorgeous, dominant, and completely on board with a short-term fling—despite the fact he’s far too young for her.
Nathan Harris is more than a bit curious about the beautiful woman renting the upstairs flat, and once he talks to her, curiosity is quickly replaced by arousal and desire. It doesn’t take long before it’s clear she longs to experience sexual submission, and Nathan finds himself desperate to be the one she submits to.
Her days spent exploring the city, her nights exploring Nathan and the pleasure submitting to him brings, Meg discovers the trip she’d taken out of obligation has turned into something she doesn’t want to walk away from. However, the life she left behind beckons, and there’s no room there for dreaming of something she can never have.
Selena Kitt – Working for the Weigands
Lloyd “Boone” Goodhart has been working for the Weigands since he was in high school, mowing their ornamental lawn, shoveling their long, winding driveway and skimming their enormous in-ground pool for extra cash, much of which he gives to his mom, a single-mother who has worked in the Wal-Mart bakery for twenty years. Boone, more apathetic cynic than true slacker, is also attending community college, bagging groceries at a local supermarket, and rebuilding his dead-beat dad’s old Harley.
His second summer after high school graduation starts out just as mundane and routine as the first, but Boone’s world turns upside down when Mrs. Weigand tells him her husband has left her, and her daughter has returned from boarding school in Europe, where Danielle “Ellie” Weigand has spent the past five years.
Before he knows which way is up, Mrs. Weigand starts requesting extra services of Boone—in more ways than one—while her daughter, Ellie, teases him mercilessly, just like she did in junior high. He soon finds himself immersed in a desperate, passionate affair, with not just one woman, but two.
Will the attention of both mother and daughter be more than he can handle, or will his growing feelings for them be more than he can bear?
Sommer Marsden – The Anniversary PartyKylie Walker is cracking under the stress of hosting a thirtieth anniversary party for her parents and trying to keep up with her freelance writing deadlines. With a new house, a well-meaning but useless sister, and roughly forty people about to descend on her home, she doesn’t think it can get much worse. Until her mother’s friend, Mrs. Sinclair, calls to ask if they might bring one more person. Her son, Wade. The man who up and left Kylie eight years before.Wade Sinclair has come back to town with one hope—to make things right with his high school sweetheart. Still hopelessly in love with Kylie, Wade knows he must come clean about why he left her all those years ago so he can finally set about reclaiming what he never should have let go of in the first place—her love. Can they put their past behind them and look toward the future? Or will the anniversary party be the end of them altogether?
Kris Norris – Force of NatureLove—an unparalleled force of nature.
Conservation Officer, Finley McKay, isn’t a stranger to criticism. Taking risks to protect delicate ecosystems doesn’t impress most people—including the doctor renting the cabin beside hers. The man’s arrogant, opinionated and far too sexy in his faded jeans and tees. She already knows he’s an ass—she just wished it mattered enough to make her keep her distance.
Dr. Coen Brady isn’t looking to fit in. Having recently retired from the military, he’s hoping to spend a few months hiding from the world in a small, out-of-the-way town in northern Washington. But just his luck, he has the misfortune of running into his next-door neighbor. A girl who seems determined to get herself killed before his time there is up. She’s reckless, stubborn and slowly driving him insane.
When anger morphs into angry sex, Coen knows taking her to bed is a calculated risk—one he might regret when her investigation turns deadly, leaving Finley’s life hanging in the balance. Breaking a few rules to keep her in the game doesn’t seem that dangerous, until it becomes painfully obvious she won’t stop until justice is served—even if the price is her life.
Paige Prince – Lost Treasure
Danielle Almasi-Epperson's parents were killed in a tragic car accident when she was eight years old, leaving her world famous, Egyptologist grandfather to raise her in their stead. While she had the pleasure of growing up on archaeological digs, he never believed that the field was a woman's place. All she's ever dreamed of is adventure and the kind of love her parents had.
Jareth Riley was the boy in the tent next door to Danielle's at every dig she could remember while growing up. Her grandfather and his father labeled him a troublemaker from day one. So, when Danielle and Jareth fall in love and lose their virginity to each other, it takes no time at all for her grandfather to ship her off to Harvard.
Ten years later, she's working as a curator at a museum and he's a treasure hunter. When he shows up on her doorstep asking for help to find a lost artifact with supposed mystical powers, she can't help but say yes. In no time at all, they're on the run from mad men with guns and rekindling the romance that had never quite died. Will they be able to restore the lost treasure to the rightful owners, or will they destroy their chance at happiness or lose their lives in the attempt?
Charlotte Stein – CurveballWhen Judy Myers is offered a relaxing vacation to get away from her latest heartbreak, she can’t say no. A cruise on her brother’s yacht sounds like heaven...until she realizes her brother’s best friend has been invited along for the ride.
Steven Stark is big, he’s loud, and he’s obviously not interested in the plump, plain little sister he used to tease unmercifully. In fact, he’s still quite happy to tease her – until she turns the tables on him. Now, Steven can’t seem to keep his thoughts, or his hands, to himself. And worse, Judy’s not sure she can resist the attraction she’s kept buried for so many years.
Being trapped on a boat isn’t the best place to be, when you’re suddenly thrown a hunky curveball.
Alison Tyler – The Spanking House
The Spanking House is a fantastical tale of a writer struggling against the beast known as "writer's block." Mia Rogers rents a cozy cottage in a small town in hopes of jumpstarting the novel she can't seem to finish. When she meets Tripp Johnson, she becomes motivated in ways she previously hadn't thought possible.

A Little More Personal, A Little Less Business Savy
It's going to be a bit dark around here for awhile. On the business front I'm still very much writing and you will see many books coming out in the future--which I will keep posting here. However, I'm in the middle of getting a divorce from my best friend, so things will be a little bit spotty on the blog. Thanks so much for understanding and I will keep you all in the loop as soon as I have new release news.
Have a kickass day,

Brandy Walker Interview and Amazon Gift Card Giveaway
Today I have Brandy Walker at my casa for an interview talking about handcuffs, socks, and her romantic inspirations. She's also giving away a 10 dollar Amazon Gift Card to a random commenter:Why did you get started writing?I’m sure most people have these fantastic stories of growing up writing and falling into it naturally. That isn’t me. I did write when I was young. Angst filled paragraphs of unrequited love featuring the boys who never noticed me. After graduating high school life got in the way as it does for most people. Years later I started reading romance and my inner voices started talking. I decided to try NaNoWriMo and found I loved telling stories.
What was the first real joy you had when writing professionally? My first real joy…seeing people I didn’t know (sorry mom) buy my book. As nervous as I was I was so stinking thrilled when people started buying my first book.
What was/is your biggest pitfall?Carving out time to write. I’m easily distracted and will let a day slip by without words hitting the screen.
What did you learn while writing?I’m still learning but the biggest thing I’m learning is to write the story I want to tell. Don’t follow trends or the hottest “it” thing. Just write the story in my head trying to get out. You can’t please everyone.
What’s your favorite sexual position to write?Right now…blowjobs. I’m completely fascinated with them. Hard, rough or teasing and light. So much goes into one.
What’s your favorite genre to read?I love romance. Love reading it too. Historical is my getaway genre. It isn’t something I write so I can completely immerse myself in it.
If you could be one fairytale character for a day who would it be?I don’t know if there one specific one I want to be but I’d love to be a witch and have magical powers.
Who are your author inspirations?Melissa Schroeder is my biggest influence. Before I started writing I was a reader and huge fan of hers. Socks or Slippers?Socks…I’m always wearing socks. My feet get super cold no matter what the weather is.
Handcuffs or fuzzy tickler?Handcuffs all the way. Totally prefer the bite of them to a fuzzy tickler. Where do you see yourself in a year as an author? In a year I’ll be close to finishing out a series I’m starting in January. It’s called Mystic Zodiac and there will be one book a month all next year. I’m so nervous about it but hope readers love it.
What are your new releases? My newest release is actually coming out January 5th. It’s the first in the Mystic Zodiac series and titled Thane. Thane is a fallen angel having been banished from Olympus for dallying with one of Zeus’ playthings without permission.
What are you working on now?I’m trying to get ahead so I’ve been working on Parvati, Mystic book 2, and Gideon, Mystic book 3. Each month there is a new paranormal creature featured.Promo info here with website/blog, Bio you want included with interview, any buy links, excerpts, blurbs etc, and attached pictures

A little Ruby for the Holidays
Hi guys and dolls, today I have Jettie Nicole on my blog author of Ruby, book one in a paranormal regency romance series. Come say hello!
RUBY BLURB:
Ruby unites the seductive and sinister actions of the supernatural with the allure and elegance of a Regency romance.
A historical romance begins to blossom around Lady Ruby Waterfield, but family secrets and unpredictable suitors expose a world of supernatural creatures—ancient enemies bound by war: vampires and warlocks.
Set in 1811 England, Ruby finally attends her first London Season at the age of eighteen. After departing from her safe, secluded childhood in the country, she quickly discovers that taking her rightful place among the aristocracy is the least of her worries after she becomes the target of a vindictive vampire. Determined to learn the truth about her family bloodlines, this clever debutante must navigate her pursuit while two gentlemen—one, her loyal best friend; the other, a mysteriously handsome stranger—grow increasingly tied to her future. From the dark alleys of Covent Garden to the lavish balls of the high society ton, clandestine agendas leave Ruby's heart exposed to a dangerous new world of mystery, magic, and love.
Ruby is the first novel in the Tree of Blood series that takes root in exposing the origins of supernatural bloodlines.
RUBY EXCERPTS
#1 EXCERPT
The knob turned and her stomach leapt. Is it him! A sudden rush of fear overcame her. She closed her eyes and she listened. She heard the door open, and footfalls stopped beside her bed. She waited, but not a word was spoken. She continued to pretend she was asleep while whoever was in the room stood above her. She did not know how much longer she could bear it, not seeing who was there. Relief passed through her body when she heard the figure step away from the bed. Soon I will be alone again. She waited for the door to shut, but the sound did not come. The person was still there. She heard a deep laugh, but she did not dare look. Then she heard the voice. It was deep and amused. "You hide your thoughts well, but it is silly for you to pretend you're asleep. No one will harm you."She opened her eyes to find a strange man above her."Ahh," he sighed. "Your eyes are the color of jade. I imagined them to be dark, like your hair. How strange."She continued to stare at him without a word. His figure loomed over her, and he stared at her with large, black eyes, like those of a bird, she thought. His thin, black hair fell past his chin, making him appear delicate, almost beautiful. His lips curved to a smile."I find you just as beautiful, my dear," he said. His statement shocked her; it was as if he'd read her thoughts."Yes, I know what you think presently, but…." He paused for a moment. "Not all of them. You keep something hidden from me. Hmm, how strange. Very well. It seems you are more interesting than I first thought.""What is it that you want?" she spat out."Oh, please do not start with that nonsense," he chided. "My plans are not for you to know. However, I will assure you that now I have seen you, I plan to keep you, at least for a while."

Ruby studied the man's attire. His black coat was soaked. He must have been caught in the wind and rain, she noted. The clothing was basic, nothing impressive. He is impressive, though, she thought. His disheveled appearance could not hide his attractive qualities. And at first sight she could have sworn she'd come upon a character from one of her books—the gallant prince turned pirate. Perhaps it was his tall, strong form and unshaven face that gave him such a roguish appearance. It also wasn't hard to look into his blue eyes, which peered out from beneath his lengthy wet mop of black hair. His deep voice interrupted her thoughts. "Do you usually keep your visitors waiting?""Not the visitors I have been expecting," she remarked with a smile."It seems that you've tortured me long enough," he said with a wink. "I think the rain has done more than I," she mocked, motioning toward his apparel. He remembered his appearance and ran a hand through his damp hair. He felt nervous and didn't understand why. "Please excuse my appearance," he apologized.

"The writing is very detailed and the book is nice and long and has a lot of meat on its bones. The characters are very nuanced and each character is a work of art. There are lots of plot twists and turns. It starts out like any historical romance and then takes a hard left turn – if you've ever seen or read “The Hunt for Red October,” then you might say Necole is a master user of “Crazy Ivans.”-Danielle Goodwin
"Once I started reading I was completely absorbed and hooked. Jettie Necole weaves an intriguing and detailed story of Regency England where Vampires and other unnatural creatures roam the night undetected by normals."-Joy for Crystal's Many Reviewers
"It was a fast paced book with love, mystery, suspense, and even some funny laugh out loud moments."-Tonya Nichols @ Eye Candy Bookstore
"The storyline was unique and engaging. It blended history, paranormal, romance, and suspense beautifully creating a wonderful masterpiece. There is also plenty of action and drama to keep you on the edge of your seat and flipping page after page wondering what happens next."-Ashley Martinez
"Twists and turns I never saw coming had me gripping my kindle for dear life waiting to see what happened next. Not to mention the young men in this book, Fredrick & Druvirro, mysterious yet handsome. The ending got me good, begging for more." -panty dropping book blog~~brittany

So...A Vlog
I have one simple question today, my dearest guys and dolls. If I were to start a vlog, would anyone watch it? I have no idea what I would vlog about, other than my dachshund, hot men on The Vampire Diaries and Spartacus, books, and general writing whoha. Would that float people's boats? Would I have to do something catchy to get people to watch along? Is anyone really going to answer me in the comments section?
These are the questions I pose to you, oh great universe. Now I'm going to keep reading Dragonfly in Amber...because Jamie.

An Interview with K.J. Coakley
Hi K. J., thanks so much for submitting to an interrogation...I mean, uh, interview, over at my place! It was lovely to meet you and I can't wait to pick up your new book.
1. Why did you get started writing?
I have always had an active imagination, so I guess in some respect it was a way to express my creative side. I enjoy creating characters with complicated quarks and tragic pasts. When I hit a road block...plot twists happen.
2. What was the first real joy you had when writing professionally?
My second novel Metanoia was the first book where I felt like I had finally connected with my writers voice. Kairos was really a trial and error kind of book for me. I needed to learn what worked and what didn't, and I feel like I accomplished that. 3. What was/is your biggest pitfall?
As I write my third novel I find myself steering clear of third person POV. It's not that I can't write from that perspective, it's just that it feels forced. My characters live out their stories in present tense/first person POV, and if I divert from that voice I feel a certain level of disconnect with the story. So, I write what my characters tell me to write and in the exact voice that comes to me.
4. What did you learn while writing?
The greatest thing about writing is taking aspects from different genres and combining them to make your own work unique.
5. What’s your favorite sexual position to write?
Ha, this is a tricky one. Tied up and face down...does that work? My characters sure think it does.
6. What’s your favorite genre to read?
I'll read just about anything so long as it has a romantic theme woven into the plot.
7. If you could be one fairytale character for a day who would it be? Snow White! The chick was living with seven guys. Need I say more?
8. Who are your author inspirations? Sherrilyn Kenyon, Karen Marie Moning, and Diana Gabaldon
9. Socks or Slippers? Socks. Especially the fuzzy fleece ones.
10. Handcuffs or fuzzy tickler?
Handcuffs. Because nothing allows you to experience the ultimate pleasure more than the complete surrender of oneself.
11. Where do you see yourself in a year as an author?
I have realistic expectations so I'm not going to say as a NYT best selling author. What I will say is this...I hope to release five books within the next year. I hope to garner respect and admiration from my fellow authors and readers. I hope to build a devoted and loyal fan base for my books. But more than anything, I just want to write really really great books.
12. What are your new releases?
Metanoia released Oct 28th and I'm currently working on a dark erotic romance stand alone.
13. What are you working on now?
Desire's Deception is the title for my WIP and I expect to release it in Feb.
