THE PLAN FOR PARTNERSHIP

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

Just as I do not demand your love, I also do not demand you follow My good and perfect will for your life. I ask for your involvement and your partnership. Together, we can bring your destiny into focus for your ultimate good.

THE PLAN FOR PARTNERSHIP

God could demand your love, but He doesn’t. Love demanded is not love. He could demand your obedience, but He doesn’t. His will for your life, His heart for you, is a lot like His love. He wants your permission and involvement.

Yes, God Almighty is looking for you to partner with Him. You can’t just say, “If it’s a God thing, it will happen. If it’s not, it won’t,” especially as you and I tend to get in His way.

Here’s what’s real about partnership: you can find your identity, purpose and destiny through many avenues – all connected to the awesome heart of God. Here are just a few ways to get with His program.

Praise and worship as a weaponStewarding environments Declarations and decrees to be madeObtaining the mind of Christ Going after the power of binding and loosing Being connected to the right people for Kingdom advancement Principles of pulling and casting down

There is also the word of your testimony and so much more. In short, we must cooperate with God by being sold out to His heart that is being revealed in any situation.

That’s still easier said than done. As human beings, we tend to jump on the defense when life brings trials. Truth is, that is exactly when our faith and everything we’ve learned ought to kick into high gear. Non-Christians are watching us to see how we will react to this or that. The good news is, so is God.

“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” – Luke 10:19

We tend to focus on the serpents in this scripture, but if you read it, it also says we have power over all the power of the enemy. That power is partnership with the Holy Spirit. Do you know His plan? Get with the program and go after God’s will for your life.

SERVE SOMEBODY

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

You look the most like Me when you’re serving. When you’re giving, helping, loving – that’s when it’s like looking in a mirror and seeing the gift I gave you before time. You are made in My image. Demonstrate Me and find life.

SERVE SOMEBODY

I tell you all the time that my greatest fear is to live a powerless life. Nothing scares me more than insignificance. Showing up in heaven empty-handed? That is a terrifying thought to me. It should be to you too.

That’s why I want to live an epic life. Epic means heroic, majestic, impressively great. Jesus lived an epic life – he really did. Though His days were spent in a carpenter shop, working, walking, talking, eating, sleeping and doing all the same things we do in a day, He made His time count.

He loved and served. The Bible says He healed “all who came to Him,” not to show off, but because He “had compassion on them.” Although we like to focus on His miracles and say, “Now, that’s epic,” it’s His selflessness and service that makes His life so phenomenal that the story of His life is still on the best-sellers list some 2,000 years after His epic departure for heaven.

See what I did there? Yes, His ascension is cool, but His love, His redemption, His kindness – those things defined Him and they should define us as well. We don’t want to live a nominal life. Nominal means “existing in name only or very small”.

Are you a Christian in name only? Do you demonstrate Jesus by serving others, giving selflessly, and loving recklessly? It’s up to you if your walk in Jesus is epic or if it’s nominal. You’ve got to get off the couch and help somebody. That is your purpose – to bring heaven to earth so God Almighty can be glorified through your good works.

I want to have the power of the Holy Spirit in my life. I want to see the goodness of God in the land of the living. I’m bound and determined to live that because I believe I have permission to live that. You have that permission too. Do you believe it? My friend, you have permission granted to live an epic life in King Jesus, so serve somebody.

“In your lives, you must think and act like Christ Jesus. Christ himself was like God in everything. But he did not think that being equal with God was something to be used for his own benefit. But he gave up his place with God and made himself nothing. He was born as a man and became like a servant.” – Philippians 2:5-7

GET WITH THE PROGRAM

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I Am My beloved’s and My beloved is Mine. You are My beloved. I planned your purpose before the foundations of the earth. I have good things for you. Partner with Me to walk out your destiny and bring Me glory.

GET WITH THE PROGRAM

You need to be famous for Who you stand with–who you stand for. That is the Jesus Christ way of doing things. Amen.

So the angel of the Lord shows up to Joseph, not in person but in a dream. That’s very interesting because the angel of the Lord showed up to Mary in person but he showed up to Joseph in a dream and tells Joseph that this is real and he needs to get with the program. Boom. Dream over.

Joseph wakes up and knows this is real. Again, the character of Mary and Joseph is so different. God doesn’t have to perform a hundred miracles for them to get with the program. They immediately recognize what and where God is and they get into alignment for their assignment.

Mary and Joseph could be trusted with this thing and there has probably never been two other human beings that God could trust with this miraculous birth the way that He was able to trust Mary and Joseph. Can God trust you like that? Or does He have to jump through a thousand hoops to get you to cooperate with Him?

Mary cooperated by saying “yes” despite the possibility of being stoned to death by those who would not believe her, even her beloved Joseph. Joseph got with God’s program. He not only spared Mary, but took the ridicule, shame, and weight of every accusation upon his shoulders.

They are famous for who they stood with–each other–and who they stood for–Jesus, son of God Almighty. Can the same be said of you? Stand for Jesus. Get with God’s program for your life and walk in your destiny. I promise it will be indescribable!

“But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world.” – 1 Peter 5:9

OPEN UNTO YOU

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I love an invitation. That’s why I have extended so many to you. I invite you into My presence, into My blessings, favor, knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. Extend an invitation to Me. Don’t be afraid. I will never leave you nor forsake you.

OPEN UNTO YOU

If you don’t have ongoing, powerful encounters with King Jesus, your relationship will begin to fail and you find yourself loving God from a distance. Who moved? You did!

Remember, encounter is the key to intimacy and intimacy is all about transparency. If you need to have a powerful encounter with God, start working it before you go after it.

Here’s an example from my life. I’ll say, “God, will you meet me here tonight at nine?” And all day long I’ll say, “God, I know You’re going to be there tonight.” Then, when I go into that secret place, God will be like, “Tadaaaaaa!”

How your willing to be relational quantifies how God is willing to be intimate. Intimacy with God means the secret place. It means revelation knowledge that changes everything.

This is really about focus. Learning how to keep your heart and mind focused like a laser beam on God’s heart. It’s where you make yourself vulnerable because you don’t have a plan B and you just decide to trust Him. You’re all the way in.

Isaiah made a stunning promise to keep his focus – his trust – on God.

“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” – Isaiah 26:3

That is intimacy. You’re not just focusing on the problem you have, you’re now going to focus on how good and how real God is. You’re going to focus on the encounters that you’ve already had with King Jesus, and that He is pleased with you going after Him.

Know this: You’re not wearing Him out. He doesn’t get tired of you or annoyed by you wanting His time and attention. Those things are limitless. He never says, “Oh, no! It’s Troy again!” I promise you, He’s never going to say that about me or you. He’s just not.

So, make a date with King Jesus. Set a time and a place to meet with Him. Tell Him you want to know Him more and that you’re going to be transparent about an issue you’ve been holding back. Go to that secret place and watch that door open unto you.

Six Things You Gotta Know About Palm Sunday

• Sunday, March 28, 2021
• Six Things You Gotta Know About Palm Sunday
• Pastor Troy Brewer, OpenDoor Church, Burleson, TX

• The Scripture, The Donkey, The King, The Palms, The Timing & The Place

• The Scripture

• John 12:1-19 (Jesus Anointed at Bethany)
• Then, six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was who had
been dead, whom He had raised from the dead.

• 2 There they made Him a supper; and Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those who
sat at the table with Him.

• 3 Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and
wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil.

• 4 Then one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, who would betray Him, said, 5
“Why was this fragrant oil not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?”

• 6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the
money box; and he used to take what was put in it. 7 But Jesus said, “Let her alone; she has
kept this for the day of My burial.

• 8 For the poor you have with you always, but Me you do not have always.”

• 9 Now a great many of the Jews knew that He was there; and they came, not for Jesus’
sake only, but that they might also see Lazarus, whom He had raised from the dead.

• 10 But the chief priests plotted to put Lazarus to death also, 11 because on account of him
many of the Jews went away and believed in Jesus.

• 12 The next day a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus
was coming to Jerusalem, 13 took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and
cried out: “Hosanna! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ The King of Israel!”

• 14 Then Jesus, when He had found a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written: 15 “Fear not,
daughter of Zion; Behold, your King is coming, Sitting on a donkey’s colt.” (Ezekiel 9:9)

• 16 His disciples did not understand these things at first; but when Jesus was glorified, then
they remembered that these things were written about Him and that they had done these
things to Him.

• 17 Therefore the people, who were with Him when He called Lazarus out of his tomb and
raised him from the dead, bore witness. 18 For this reason the people also met Him,
because they heard that He had done this sign.

• 19 The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, “You see that you are accomplishing
nothing. Look, the world has gone after Him!”

• The thing about donkeys…
• Symbolic of coming in peace or coming in conquest

• Luke 19:28-39

• When He had said this, He went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. 29 And it came to pass,
when He drew near to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mountain called Olivet, that He sent
two of His disciples,

• 30 saying, “Go into the village opposite you, where as you enter you will find a colt tied, on
which no one has ever sat. Loose it and bring it here. 31 And if anyone asks you, ‘Why are
you loosing it?’ thus you shall say to him, ‘Because the Lord has need of it.’”

• 32 So those who were sent went their way and found it just as He had said to them. 33 But
as they were loosing the colt, the owners of it said to them, “Why are you loosing the colt?”

• 34 And they said, “The Lord has need of him.” 35 Then they brought him to Jesus. And they
threw their own clothes on the colt, and they set Jesus on him. 36 And as He went, many
spread their clothes on the road.

• 37 Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole
multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty
works they had seen,

• 38 saying: “‘Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Peace in heaven and
glory in the highest!”

• 39 And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, “Teacher, rebuke Your
disciples.”
• 40 But He answered and said to them, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones
would immediately cry out.”

• They had a yes in their spirit (both the disciples and the giver). The Lord knows where the
provision is.

• John 12:12-13
• “The next day the large crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to
Jerusalem. So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out,
‘Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!'”

• Palm trees
• Revelation 7:9
• (A Multitude from the Great Tribulation)
• After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all
nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb,
clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands

• The Timing
• -Abraham & Issac on Mount Moriah
• -1000 years later David brings the Ark of the Covenant to the threshing floor of Araunah the
Jebusite
• -1000 years later Jesus enters Jerusalem on Palm Sunday
• -All to the day and the hour. All to the same exact real estate.

• The Place
• Abraham goes to Mount Moriah to sacrifice his son, Isaac. God provides a sacrifice and he
sees Jesus as the true and living sacrifice “afar off.”
• The altar of Abraham became the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.
• David bought this threshing floor to build an altar for God to stop a plague. He later put his
“Tabernacle of David” on that spot.
• Solomon built the Temple on that very real estate where Jesus walked on Palm Sunday as
the King.

GIANTS IN THE LAND

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

The devil is not My enemy. He is yours. Because he hates Me, he does all in his power to destroy you. Do not partner with his lies. Listen to My voice. I call you family. I call you friend. Take My hand and live.

GIANTS IN THE LAND

You’re a bad motor-scooter. You’re something else. You’re an overcomer and that’s not because of your flesh. In the Bible, the devil that represents your flesh is Goliath of Gath.

Goliath represents our flesh. In the Bible, giants represent the problems we have in our Promised Land. We’re all earthen vessels. We’re created out of the earth and our bodies are literally seventy percent water just like the earth is seventy percent water. That means the territory that God wants to conquer is you

But there are giants in the land. There are fleshly tendencies that have to be dealt with that oppose the occupation of the Spirit of God within your own life. You know them because you made friends with them. Giants of anger, jealousy, covetousness, addiction, debt, depression, doubt, and despair.

All of us have giants and all of our giants have to be dealt with – every single one of them. The Bible says Goliath was six cubits and a span. That means he was at least 9-feet-six-inches tall. He’s a big ‘un! The brother’s got six fingers and the Bible says his spearhead weighed in at 600 shekels and he’s even got six pieces of demonic armor.

There are sixes all over him and we all know six is God’s number for flesh. That means the six pounds of gray flesh between our ears is the biggest giant we have in our promised land. This Goliath is not just the enemy, he’s even worse – the in-a-me.

He’s got insider information. He knows the lay of the land and all our weak spots. He’s got the advantage, or so he likes us to think. There is one weapon in our arsenal that can defeat him and that’s the rock. The smooth stone of Jesus, specifically what he says about us, defeats Goliath every time.

Goliath calls you a loser? Jesus says you’re victorious. Goliath calls you ugly? Jesus says you’re a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. Want to stand against the in-a-me? Fall upon the rock and let Him break your giant into pieces.

Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed. – Luke 20:18

A WHOLE LOTTA JESUS!

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I Am not a selfish God. My very nature is to give to those I love. Demonstrate My giving side by being generous. When I see you giving, I can open up the floodgates of heaven over your life.

 A WHOLE LOTTA JESUS

We like to call Christmas “the season of giving.” While I like that, there’s a great principle of giving in the Bible you and I are going to discuss today that should apply to every day.

Brother Luke wrote in his epic book (like how I did that? Epic?) that God is the greatest giver ever. However, He gets really revved up when we demonstrate His giving nature.

“Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” – Luke 6:38

The Father goes, “Good googly moogly! Do you see my kids out giving of their time, talent, and treasure? I need to give them more so they can give away even more!”

In God’s economy, the amount you give will determine the amount you get back. This is not just a financial principle. It’s a Kingdom principle, so it works with time, talent, connections, relationships – all kinds of stuff.

Here’s the best part: if you’re giving away Jesus to the lost and hurting, you get as much Jesus as you want. Why is that important? You don’t want to go to the sea of the Kingdom and just bring a teaspoon. You should want to dive in deep. Amen. I want to drink deep to live an epic life here on earth and you should too.

The Bible says if you put a whole lot into it, you’re going to get a whole lot out of it. So give! Give of your time to serve. Give of your talent to build others up. Give your money to help those who don’t know the goodness of God. You’ll get a whole lot of Jesus in return.

JUST LIKE JOSEPH

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

Love covers a multitude of sins. Because I Am love, I cover your sins and I am so proud of you when you do likewise for others. Show mercy to the lost and prophesy identity, purpose, and destiny into them, just as I do for you.

JUST LIKE JOSEPH

In my opinion, Joseph is one of the greatest heroes who ever lived. I can’t imagine the disappointment in Joseph’s life. He thought he knew Mary, but she turned up pregnant and the baby wasn’t his.

Joseph had the right to tell everyone—the Sanhedrin council, the Pharisees and his family. They would have put her up against the wall and stoned her and her unborn baby to death. He could have stood back crying and thinking that that was the only way for him to have honor in his life.

Matthew’s genealogy shows that Joseph was heir to the throne. As royal blood, he was a different caliber of human being even though he’s poor and unknown. He is a man of honor.

“Then Joseph her husband, being a just man and not willing to make her a public example, he sought to put her away privately.” – Matthew 1:19

Joseph knew he was going to take a bad rap from everyone, including his family. He knew he would be the object of rumor and scorned by the religious authorities. He loved Mary, but he thought she’d lost her mind. Still, he couldn’t let her die in shame.

That is the mark of an awesome man of God. He wasn’t going to form a mob or get on Facebook and say, “look at this horrible thing this person has done.” When you walk in the love of God, you tend to cover up the sins of other people.

You tend to try to make things right and that’s exactly what Joseph did. That’s a good word, especially for this season. You’re going to come across people – family, friends, people you work with – who are galactically stupid. They will scorn wise advice and godliness. They will do and say self-destructive things, but you don’t need to get on Facebook and pronounce your profound disagreement with them.

Just be all about the Kingdom. Listen, if you’re famous for who you stand against, you’re fighting the wrong battle. Speak life into those knuckleheads. Love them and protect their reputations even when they don’t. Pray for them and continually bring Jesus into their lives. Make things right, just like Joseph.

LISTEN TO THE BLOOD

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I Am the God who heard the blood of Able crying out and the One who heard the blood of Christ speak. The blood of Christ says, “You are mine.” It says, “It is finished.” You can be a forgiven, sanctified child of Mine if you’ll only receive and believe in My word.

LISTEN TO THE BLOOD

The blood of Christ speaks. What it speaks is better stuff than the blood of Abel, which cried out from the ground. It says you’re holy. It says you’re righteous. It says that you’re forgiven.

The blood speaks of sacrifice. The blood saves us. The Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world – it takes away, it doesn’t postpone judgment. It takes away the sins of the world. What does the blood do? It sanctifies. That means it “sets us apart.” It redeems us. That means it “re-purchases us.” The only way we can have redemption is through the blood.

We can’t go back through time to Israel. We can’t go to the Cross, take some of Jesus’ blood, go to the Holy of Holies—to the mercy seat—and put the blood of Jesus on the mercy seat on our behalf so that our sins are taken away.

We can’t do that because it’s not about what we can do, but what He has already done. We simply have to believe on the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ right now and it gives us access to the Holy of Holies. It’s totally by faith now. It’s not by our physical action.

It was by the physical action of the Lord Jesus Christ, now it is upon the faith of the people who are willing to receive it, then that blood is applied to us. When that blood is applied to us my friends, everything is paid for. The blood of Abel says, “there’s a price that needs to be paid.” The blood of Jesus says, “it has been paid in full.”

“Then Jesus shouted out again and He released His spirit. At that moment, the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, rocks split apart…” – Matthew 27:50-51

It is by the actions of Christ that we are able to enter into the presence of Almighty God! All we can do is believe and receive. Sounds simple right?
