VAIN IMAGINATIONS
You have the mind of Christ. As you cast down evil imaginations, you make your Father in heaven proud. He is filling your head and your heart with eternal things, so have ears to hear His voice and His voice only.
VAIN IMAGINATIONSWhile it’s good to learn from your past and prepare for your future, today is the only day you can control. Today is where you fight for greatness and go after blessing.
Unfortunately, if you’re like me – and you are – you’ve found focusing on today is hard. Especially when you consider the conversations you have in your head.
Admit it. Thoughts of past hurts, offenses and slights pop into your head on a daily basis. Sometimes on an hourly basis. You obsess saying, “I should have said this,” “I should have done that,” or “What if…” You start to construct conversations in your head that transport you back to the anger and hurt.
From their callous hearts comes iniquity; their evil imaginations have no limits. – Psalms 73:7
Then there are the imaginations of the future. You know, preparing for battle by practicing for fights that may never come. But they do, and mostly because you were locked and loaded from a false conversation or an imagined slight.
All day long I have held out my hands to an obstinate people, who walk in ways not good, pursuing their own imaginations – Isaiah 65:2
Like Adam and Eve in the garden, you are talking to snakes! These conversations in your head are deadly fruit the serpent uses to keep you wrapped up in your past or undermining your future. You’ll never move forward so you will never be a threat to his dark work.
If the devil can keep you fighting imaginary battles over imagined offenses with real opponents, he can push you into a costly war on a battlefield you have no grace to win. Yes, he’s out to kill your testimony and bring your upgrade to a screeching halt.
Wake up! When you find yourself reliving conversations from the past or preparing for a future skirmish, cast out that thought and the serpent with it. Call on the name of Jesus. Declare you have the mind of Christ, because you do.
TODAY IS A GREAT DAY TO CONFRONT THOSE VOICES IN YOUR HEAD. CAST OUT THE VOICE OF THE ENEMY. PUT ON THE MIND OF CHRIST AND HEAR HIS VOICE CALLING YOU TO DEEPER THINGS.

WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET
Pastor Jerry Sellers, OpenDoor Church, Burleson, TX
Wednesday, Feb. 9 2022
The phrase “what you see is what you get,” was a catchphrase popularized by Flip Wilson’s drag persona Geraldine, first appearing in September 1969, then regularly in the early 1970s on The Flip Wilson Show.
Romans 12:2 (NKJV) – And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
It’s the gatekeeper of the supernatural. To be of any effectiveness to do the Kingdom work we have been called to do, we must be transformed and our minds need to be renewed…
We have been plagued with small-minded Christianity for far too long.
Matthew 14:13-21 – When Jesus heard it, He departed from there by boat to a deserted place by Himself. But when the multitudes heard it, they followed Him on foot from the cities. And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick. When it was evening, His disciples came to Him, saying, “This is a deserted place, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages and buy themselves food.” But Jesus said to them, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.” And they said to Him, “We have here only five loaves and two fish.” He said, “Bring them here to Me.” Then He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes. So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained. Now those who had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children.
Most of us focus on the natural and the temporal. We need to transform how we think.
Well I have heard this. I know I need to think differently. Gotta enlarge that….go for more….take it to a whole new level…. Walk out Isaiah 54:1-4
I love what Paul said to the Philippians
Philippians 4:8 – Keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising him always.
We need to have a transformed perspective which comes from how we think. We have to think from a different reality…
From Heaven toward earth, we need to start thinking bigger. Many of us have struggled with limited, powerless and finite thinking. We have been trained—we are skilled in just surviving; as if we are still living in the wilderness because we are conditioned to operate with wilderness thinking.
Honesty examine your life for a minute is the fruit you see extraordinary, abundant, next level, double portion, over flowing or is it barely getting by
Do you have victory or are you still defeated?
Are you overcoming or have you been overcome?
We can no longer live like the enemy on the other side of the Jordan is too big and too powerful to conquer.
Does this sound familiar?
I would love to dwell in the Promise Land. I would love to have that perspective. I would love to be an overcomer but I’m limited. I have this issue, this weakness; I’m not smart enough, not good enough, I don’t have the right skill set.
It really doesn’t add up to what the Bible says.
We have the creator of the Universe living inside us—the mind of Christ thinking through us, and the Spirit of God influencing the world around us. However, we can’t break free from our bondage and addictions. We struggle with poverty. We are not sure God will heal or restore this relationship…or deliver us…or will He really provide in our time of need?
We live our lives thinking from a small, limited, human perspective. Few live life from a Heavenly perspective where anything and everything is possible.
I don’t believe God has given us permission to live with limited mindsets. God has designed our minds to be one of the most supernaturally powerful tools in the universe.
Colossians 3:1 TPT – “Christ’s resurrection is your resurrection too. This is why we are to yearn for all that is above, for that’s where Christ sits enthroned at the place of all power, honor, and authority!”
It’s the decade of the Land Grab in how we think. It’s time we start going after a new, bigger, Kingdom perspective and viewpoint.
So, for the next few minutes, I want to bring to memory some things we already know but need to upgrade and expand our thinking in. We need to get a lens change—a new perspective.
1. We are the temple of the Holy Spirit.
1 Corinthians 6:19 (NKJV) – Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
We have the creator of the universe living inside us—the One who envisioned everything and spoke the worlds into existence. That’s who lives inside us. We need to upgrade our perspective and our thinking.
2. We have an open door to wisdom
1 Corinthians 12:8 (NKJV) – for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit,
James 1:5 (NKJV) – If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
Think of it like this: being a Daniel or Solomon on steroids. But they didn’t have the Holy Spirit living in them. They lived under the visitation of the Holy Spirit. We live under the dispensation of the Holy Spirit—the habitation.
3. We have the mind of Christ
1 Corinthians 2:16 (NKJV) – For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
The Father’s thoughts are not above us because Jesus said, “I only do what the Father does and only say what the Father says,” so we have the mind of Christ. Jesus’ thoughts can be our thoughts because we have His mind. Truth is, we need to lose ours and grab ahold of His. What if we started thinking bigger? What if we saw every circumstance the way Jesus does?
Well, doesn’t the Bible ask the question, “Who can know the mind of the Lord?” In Romans 11:34, Paul is quoting a passage from Isaiah 40:13 in the Old Testament. Remember, they did not have the habitation Holy Spirit.
We have access to the thoughts of God.
Bill Johnson said the prize of all prizes is the mind of Christ. The greatest gift is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and the greatest prize is the mind of Christ. It is seeing and thinking the way Jesus sees.
4. We are a new Creation
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) – Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
The word “new” here means “prototype” or something never before created. We are literally the first creatures to live on earth and in heaven simultaneously. So, we have a new mind and we have a new heart.
5. We are seated in Heavenly places with Christ.
Ephesians 2:6 (NKJV) – and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
Ephesians 1:20 (NKJV) – which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,
Philippians 2 says that God has highly exalted Jesus.
Our heavenly seat gives us insight into the future. It’s like in Rev. 4:1 when Jesus said to John, “Come up here and I will show you what must take place after these things.” This isn’t a pipe dream. This is our reality—our advantage—our right of passage. Then we have an elevated perspective—a heavenly perspective.
6. Becoming a friend of God is a game-changer. It opens the door to encounters.
John 15:14-15 (NKJV) – You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.
James 4:8 – Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
Jeremiah 29:13 – And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
Notice we transition from servant to friend by obedience, when we do this we are introduced to a realm of revelation that only Jesus walked in. We have access to all things that Jesus walked in.
7. 2022 stands for illumination or the Revelation of Light, so let’s be the light to the world
Matthew 5:16 – “So don’t hide your light! Let it shine brightly before others, so that your commendable works will shine as light upon them, and then they will give their praise to your Father in heaven.”
Let’s wake up and own our inheritance! Whatever comes our way, let’s think bigger, think higher realizing the arsenal we have been given. Let’s walk out the challenges, struggles, the difficulties from a Heavenly perspective. Let’s us grab ahold of the revelation of solutions, creativity and the wisdom we carry in Jesus name! Go! Grab the territory of higher thinking.
We are alive in the Spirit—son’s and daughter’s of Jehovah God, endowed with wisdom, commissioned with power and given authority to make a profound difference in our world. It’s time we rise up to our high calling in Christ Jesus and start thinking like royalty!

GOD WANTS YOUR TONGUE
Love isn’t what you think, it’s what you do. Do what Jesus did.
GOD WANTS YOUR TONGUEOnce you get God into your mouth, your head will naturally follow. Consequently, get God into your head and He will make the 12-inch drop into your heart and your feelings, and you will change for the better!
We’ve all read that God’s Word is a “two-edged sword,” but what does that really mean on a practical level? It literally means “two-mouthed” so that when you join God in speaking life, truth and destiny over yourself and others, your mouth becomes a weapon the devil cannot defeat.
When you let God get a hold of your mouth, your life will change, including your mental life – the toughest area to tame. Self-doubt, hatred, past failures and inability to forgive will be defeated if you can just speak right words – the Word of God – over yourself.
There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, But the tongue of the wise promotes health. – Proverbs 12:18
Why? Because speaking God’s Word activates good things in your life. It is like medicine that brings healing because positive words bring life. Negative words bring wrath, and none of us should be looking to bring wrath upon ourselves.
For many of us, it’s like speaking new language. Let’s not forget the incredible gift of simply being able to speak in a brand new way by just speaking life, goodness and God’s Word over things. Doing so will bring the upgrade you’ve been waiting for.
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO BE A LIFE BREATHER! SPEAK POSITIVE, GODLY WORDS OVER YOURSELF AND OTHERS, AND REBUKE THE DEATH BREATHERS WHO SPEAK LIES OVER YOUR LIFE.

PICKING A FIGHT
In those places where the enemy fights you the hardest are your areas of your greatest upgrade. Let the enemy know, in no uncertain terms, that you will keep moving forward because Christ is with you and in you!
PICKING A FIGHTIn the movie “Braveheart,” William Wallace walks onto the battlefield alone, directly challenging the British army when his friend asks, “Where are you going?”
“I’m going to pick a fight,” he responds.
He didn’t come there to look at the enemy or wait for someone to make a move. He was there to actually engage and accomplish something. William Wallace was the real deal and we should be too.
Now, I’m not here to pick a fight, but I am here to be the real deal. The name Brewer means “to stir up trouble,” and I’m good at it. Though I hate confrontation, I know that going against the grain – being genuine and real – causes friction.
For me, it comes in the form of hate mail – a steady stream of it. It doesn’t stop me from writing, preaching, rescuing girls out of slavery or feeding the hungry because I’m not here to play it safe. I like being out on a limb.
That’s exactly where we are when we follow Jesus. He likes to lead us into messy, dangerous, vulnerable places. When we go, He brings out our relevance. I am truly afraid of spinning my wheels and becoming irrelevant.
You and I just have to be thick-skinned enough to boldly be who God has called us to be long enough to get good mileage out of his investment.
I knew they were scheming to hurt me so I sent messengers back with this:
“I’m doing a great work. I can’t come down. Why should the world come to a standstill just so I can come down to see you?” – Nehemiah 6:3
When it comes to the things of God, refuse to be distracted. Don’t wait for something to happen. Join the club. Pick a fight with the enemy and take some ground for Jesus. Free a prisoner of war and be who you were created to be.
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO SEE YOURSELF AS THE BAD MOTOR SCOOTER YOU ARE. PICK A FIGHT WITH THE DEVIL AND PUNCH HELL IN THE TEETH.

GOODNESS ON TRIAL
God is proud of you for demonstrating His goodness in the land of the living. His kids are a reflection of Him, so continue to represent Him well. Answer evil with good so people will follow you to the Father.
GOODNESS ON TRIALAmerica could use a shot of goodness right about now. Headlines are filled with government infighting, Hollywood elite stomping their feet like children and special interest groups are demanding their way. While it feels good to fight back, there’s something more effective.
It’s called goodness and it’s a game-changer. The Bible tells us God is love and that He is a good Father. So if God is so good, why is America and the world such a crazy place right now?
I’ll tell you why, and it’s the same problem our communities and families have: If there were a trial, too few Christians would be guilty of spreading goodness. There’s very little goodness in most people who profess Christ’s name!
There is true power when the church is the good guy. We see the kingdom of God transforming lives and heaven invades earth. So wake up Christians! Pay attention church of America! Be known for what God loves, not for what you hate and want to judge!
You see, when the church, including its individuals, is the bad guy, that’s powerful too. The mob of hell forms and controls folks into thinking they are right and everyone else is wrong. Remember, Paul was writing to believers when he penned this verse, and it still rings true today:
“It is obvious what kind of life develops out of trying to get your own way all the time: repetitive, loveless, cheap sex; a stinking accumulation of mental and emotional garbage; frenzied and joyless grabs at happiness; trinket gods; magic-show religion; paranoid loneliness; cutthroat competition; all-consuming-yet-never-satisfied wants; a brutal temper; an impotence to love or be loved; divided homes and divided lives; small-minded and lopsided pursuits; the vicious habit of depersonalizing everyone into a rival; uncontrolled and uncontrollable addictions and ugly parodies of community.” -Galatians 5:19-21
Guilty of forgoing God’s goodness? If you’re suffering from a lack of goodness, repent! Change your attitude and actions so you can bring others to Jesus with the gift of goodness.
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO BE DECLARED GUILTY OF SPREADING GOD’S GOODNESS! THERE IS NO GREATER HONOR FOR YOUR KING!

HANG ‘EM HIGH!
You are blessed and highly favored of the Lord. Because you are blessed, be a blessing. Because you are favored, give favor to others. Give and it will be given to you.
HANG ‘EM HIGH!I’m from a small town in Texas. From the age of six, I lived on a farm. If you know anything about farmers, you know they have a holy hatred of coyotes.
I will never forget 1972. It was the summer the local farmers went to war with these vermin and shot what seemed to me to be about 100 coyotes in one grand hunt. According to the myth that it would scare off other coyotes, all those dead carcasses were nailed to fence posts.
I will never forget this display of trophies. I tried to count them every time we drove down the road. I know the number was over 80 rotting corpses of fur and teeth attracting a sky full of buzzards in the punishing heat.
It was a terrible sight and left quite an impression on me. Now, I’m not six anymore, and 44 years later, I’m convinced God let that one event make a verdict in me that I can’t ignore. I call it my Varmint Verdict.
While disgusting, it was also fascinating. While a symbol of hatred, it was also a symbol of triumph nailed to a piece of wood hung up for all to see.
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”)… – Galatians 3:15
Jesus became a curse hanging on a tree for us. A gruesome trophy for the unbelieving Romans and the blinded Pharisees, but a sight of pure love and beauty to us whom He’s saved.
In other words, at the cross, Jesus, because of the curse was nailed down then hung up so that we could be blessed. Yes, there is a mystery in how this works, but the picture of it is so striking to me. Something that was perfect became sinful and what was blessed became cursed so that a knucklehead named Troy could stand in a place called perfect and blessed.
The cross is both horrible and fascinating. I wooden wonder you and I need to say “thank you” for.
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO EXAMINE THE CROSS. SEE THE BLESSING IN THE CURSE AND KNOW THAT JESUS CALLS YOU HOLY AND HIS!

“22” Week 3 – WHEN KINGS GO TO WAR
Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022
Pastor Troy Brewer, OpenDoor Church, Burleson, TX
Genesis 1:1-22 – In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. 3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day. 6 Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” 7 Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day. 9 Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good. 11 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 13 So the evening and the morning were the third day. 14 Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. 16 Then God made two great [d]lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. 17 God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 So the evening and the morning were the fourth day. 20 Then God said, “Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.” 21 So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.”
Matthew 1:22 – So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:
God wants to move us from promise and prophecy into fulfillment and manifestation.

HOLD YOUR NOSE
When we have trouble seeing things in a way that brings His peace, perhaps it’s time to reframe the event that has us stifled. Invite the Lord to give you His eyes and heart: watch, pray and release His peace.
HOLD YOUR NOSE!Your nose is truly remarkable. It detects up to 2,000 scents, good and not so good.
You might know the name King James because of the English translation of the Bible he commissioned, but you might not know this odd monarch didn’t try to live by the words he made available to others.
Though a promiscuous homosexual, he married Anne of Denmark and had seven children who survived beyond birth. This is amazing to me considering King James suffered from aqua phobia – the fear of water. It is said that he never took one single bath in his entire life!
When King James entered a room, everyone knew it.
There is nothing worse than someone who reeks of a major personal hygiene malfunction. Well, that’s not true. It’s worse to reek of a condition I call “stinkin’ thinkin.”
Negative thoughts turn into negative words. They bring darkness and despair. Doubt does the same thing, as does anger and jealousy. Coveting things that don’t belong to you also brings dark thoughts because it means you’re unhappy with what God has given to you.
Then there are wild imaginations. You know, the arguments you have in your head where you’re giving people a piece of your mind or getting revenge. These most likely will lead to actions. Or imagining you know what others think of you, when you really have no idea.
You see, our thoughts become our words. Our words become actions and actions have natural consequences. One of those very real, very steep consequences is that you begin to stink.
Yes, your words and your actions will drive people from you like a rotting fish in the sun. You can’t feed the hungry, serve the poor, heal the lame or rescue the lost if they are forced to run from you because of the stench.
The Bible tells us we are to be a fragrant aroma to God. Like incense, our words, actions and, yes, our very lives should smell a lot more like heaven than hell.
For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. – 2 Corinthians 2:15
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO LET GO OF EVIL IMAGINATIONS. TURN YOUR THOUGHTS TOWARD ALL THAT IS GOOD, INCLUDING JESUS.

JESUS IS THE ROCK
It’s time to hike up higher and see the view from God’s perspective. He is ready to show you His heart in the matter that you are seeking Him about, so rise up!
JESUS IS THE ROCKAccording to 2 Samuel, we Christians possess a God-given ability to climb out of whatever mental mess we find ourselves in.
He makes my feet like the feet of deer, And sets me on my high places. – 2 Samuel 22:34
Psalms 61:1-2 takes this a step further.
Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
When David says that he will cry out to God from “the ends of the world,” he’s not talking about a location. The translation should be “at the end of my rope.” You see, your ability to find God when you are at the end of your rope, or your “wits end,” is based upon your ability to seek Him when you’re at wits end in that mess.
Most of us get frustrated, throw a fit or turn away from God when the world crashes down around us. We forget that Jesus said at His ascension – or rising up – that He would be with us to “the ends of the earth,” or the end of our rope. He is the “rock that is higher than I” that David was talking about.
Jesus said in Matthew 16:18-19 that He was building His church not on Peter himself, but on the rock of revelation knowledge God downloaded to Peter. Therefore, you and I have access to a mental download from the mind of Christ to our minds. If you can see things the way God sees them, you will not be overwhelmed.
It is the “view from above,” from that “rock that is higher than I” that David was referring to. Jesus has that view from the top and will give it to you right now if you give your mind to him concerning whatever is overwhelming you. Submit your mind to Christ. It is the key to having true mental victory!
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO UNDERSTAND THAT PAST, PRESENT OR FUTURE, GOD WANTS TO TURN YOUR MESS INTO A MESSAGE THAT WILL HELP AND HEAL YOU WHEN YOU’RE AT THE END OF YOUR ROPE.
