Competition or Camaraderie? @NanReinhardt

All the month of January, I've been featuring Indiana Romance Authors on my personal blog. Man, it's been fun! I started on New Year's Day with my favorite Indiana Romance Author, our own Liz Flaherty and just took off from there. Some of these writers are people I know well, others I know slightly, and some I've never met, but it's been a blast getting to know them through the their articles or the Q&A I sent them.

Having a different author up nearly every day got me to thinking about wri...

The Woman in the Mirror @Liz Flaherty

Do you ever feel as if you lost yourself somewhere along the way? If you've had a bad time or an extraordinarily good one, do you ever look in the mirror and wonder exactly who's looking back at you? Because you've changed, and you're not sure what to do with the person who's there.

I'm feeling thoughty here--can you tell? I'm always, always whining about how much I hate change, yet when I look back--over bad times and extraordinarily good ones, it's an ongoing cycle, isn't it? It's what keeps...

The Glamorous Life of a Writer by @JanaRichards_

Courtesy of Flickr, Linda_Lou2So, the other day, my fifteen-year-old dog peed on the floor, and as I was cleaning it up, I thought, “What a glamorous life I have.”

Not.

The truth is, my life is about as unglamorous as it gets. Unless you consider my ratty old sweater and fuzzy slippers, my usual at-home attire, glamorous. Then I’m right there with you.

I go to the grocery store, I clean toilets, I lug laundry up and down the stairs. When I’m at the day job, I balance stuff, not like Cirque du So...

Illustrations and Illuminations

By Ava Cuvay

Happy Friday Wranglers! While I’m waiting for my critique partners to thrash my third book, I’ve been tinkering with another story that’s been in the back of my mind for a few years now. And it’s quite a departure from what I normally write.
I’m writing and illustrating a children’s book.
Granted, I’m going to publish it under another name… don’t think children-friendly stories mesh well with my hot sci-fi romance rep. Although as a person, I’m excited at the prospect of changing t...

A Little Bit of Moxie

[image error] by Margie Senechal

I'm running late this morning, shoveling down my steel oats and coffee to get this posted before I have to leave for work. So, were doing a little bit of this and little bit of that this morning since cohesive thoughts aren't on the menu.

[image error] I saw a post of Facebook a while back about vending machines for the homeless. They get an access card and are able to make three "purchases" a day from a vending machine--think the sandwich machine in a hospital corridor nook--that h...

My Word Is PEACE @NanReinhardt

My word for 2018 is PEACE. Just that one word. I don't have a long list of others, even though I do have a long list of things that need to be done this year. Not the least is writing two books for Tule Publishing. I also need to garner enough editing gigs to keep me in health insurance, the cost of which went up so much for 2018 that I nearly had a heart attack when I signed up. I suppose that would've been a fitting way to begin using it, eh?

I want to spend time with Grandboy and my kids, w...

Good times @Liz Flaherty

It has been a while since we've visited "a little o'this and a little o'that." Since I don't have a theme for today, let's take a look at what's going on. Or been going on.

Book report. Have you read Kristan Higgins' newest one? I don't know that Now That You Mention It is my favorite, but it comes pretty close. I meant to stretch it out over several days when it showed up on my Kindle, and I did make it for...well, one and a half. And now I'm looking forward to...

What Does Determination Look Like? @JanaRichards_

This is the picture I keep in my office. The bottom says "Determination forges the path to success."A couple of weeks ago, I talked about the goals I’m working on for 2018. I also mentioned that the word I’ve chosen for myself as a sort of inspiration word for the year is “determination”. I’m determined to move forward with my writing this year. I have goals for books I want to self-publish, books I want to submit for publication, and books I either need to finish or write from scratch. At th...

Fox for Sale: 99-cents

By Ava Cuvay

Happy Friday! I’m spotlighting writer pal Miranda Lynn today. She has a new release out, and it’s 99-cents for a short time. Check it out!

Her new release, “Sterling,” is Book 3 in Miranda’s Black Mountain Pack, a fox-shifter paranormal series. We at Word Wranglers believe love, lust, and sexiness continue as we age, and after one look at “Sterling” I just gotta say hoo-boy-howdy-hubba-hubba! Maturity has its merits… he is a silver fox! (Ha! Get it?! Sorry, my Teen Beat subscripti...

First Stop

[image error] by Margie Senechal

I'm not proud of what I'm about to show you, but sometimes there's just no choice.

My phrase for the year--in case you forgot over the past two weeks--is You Make it Happen.

I was smart in that I didn't state exactly what I wanted to happen, just that I'd make it happen. But, one of the main things I'd like to accomplish is to get organized.

So, first off. "Hi! My name is Margie and I am a clutterbug."

Phew! That felt good.

On Monday, I took these pictures of my writing space.
