Fox for Sale: 99-cents
By Ava Cuvay
Happy Friday! I’m spotlighting writer pal Miranda Lynn today. She has a new release out, and it’s
99-cents for a short time. Check it out!
Her new release, “Sterling,” is Book 3 in Miranda’s Black Mountain Pack, a fox-shifter paranormal series. We at Word Wranglers believe love, lust, and sexiness continue as we age, and after one look at “Sterling” I just gotta say hoo-boy-howdy-hubba-hubba! Maturity has its merits… he is a silver fox! (Ha! Get it?! Sorry, my Teen Beat subscripti...

First Stop

I'm not proud of what I'm about to show you, but sometimes there's just no choice.
My phrase for the year--in case you forgot over the past two weeks--is You Make it Happen.
I was smart in that I didn't state exactly what I wanted to happen, just that I'd make it happen. But, one of the main things I'd like to accomplish is to get organized.
So, first off. "Hi! My name is Margie and I am a clutterbug."
Phew! That felt good.
On Monday, I took these pictures of my writing space.

A Place to Go #AmReading ~ @AuthorKristina Knight
Nan may have thought she was the space cadet yesterday, but I think I really am...because I thought I had a post all scheduled and ready and here I am at 8:20 with nothing. So, I'm re-posting an oldie but (I hope) a goodie. Read on! I've lived and visited a lot of places in my life. I grew up in Missouri and can tell you about minute differences you'll find from the Boot Heel to the Rural Centers and the Cities. I've lived in Nebraska and Ohio and can probably answer a lot of trivia abou...

I Am a Space Cadet...
Confession? I totally spaced blogging here today. I dunno why I'm so dippy right now--cold weather freezing my brain? Overwhelmed with work, writing, and family responsibilities? Who knows? All I know for sure is that I spent last night sipping tea and watching Netflix and knitting, which was a lovely, lovely break, but it didn't get my article written, now did it? But instead of beating myself up for four paragraphs, I think I'll just send you some fun places. Does that work for you?

The perfect gift @Liz Flaherty
We've just passed the traditional season of gift-giving. I had a glorious time buying gifts and opening gifts and using the gifts I was given. No matter how old I get, I love the whole gift-giving process, whether I'm the giver or the getter.I've been given some superb gifts in my life, haven't you? My daughter's birthday is Thursday, reminding me that our kids were perfect gifts. The ones they married. The Magnificent Seven. Not that they're unflawed--they are human beings, after all--but as...

The In-Between Time
by Ava CuvayI finished my third novel over the holidays (I might have already screamed that fact from the rooftops), and spent much of the Christmas Break tweaking it (I might have already whined about that need in a previous blog). ;-)
Last week, I sent it off to a couple critique partners for their gut reaction to the story and characters. I figured fine-tuning comma splices and dangling participles could wait until I knew the story worked. Ensuring that I’m showing instead of telling doesn...

#GoalSetting and Word Setting
Is setting goals the secret to success? It’s 2018! Hard to believe another year has passed. A lot of us make New Year’s Resolutions. There’s the usual suspects – lose weight, eat healthier, exercise more. I know, because I’ve made those same resolutions numerous times (Don’t ask how successful I’ve been). But for a writer, it’s important to do more than make resolutions. We need to set goals. I've got to get to work on mine.
My Production Goals:
I’ve been talking forever about the three-book seri...

Meetings and Partings
by Ava Cuvay
Happy 2018! New Years are a perfect time to reflect on the previous year and make plans for the new. Like a new story, the new year is a book of blank pages waiting to be filled. But we don't approach these blank pages with our own "blankness"... Instead, we come to the table with a lifetime of experience, the good and the bad, and we hope we can keep the good and dump (or at least improve) the bad.
A New Year is kind of our chance to edit our lives. ;-)

Not a Word...
by Margie Senechal
My daughter thinks I'm cheating this year because I'm choosing a phrase and not just a single word. You can let me know in the comments after I finish pleading my case.
For the past few months I've been in a state of stagnation. I'm not moving forward figuratively or literally.
While I enjoy my day/night job--especially the people I work with--it's just a job. While I'm at work, I tend to give it my all, but it's not where I want to be ten years from now. At least...
