Reunited and it Feels so Good

I took a nearly six-month hiatus from my writing this summer.

First, I entered the RWA’s Future, Fantasy, & Paranormal chapter’s On the Far Side Contest in May. Waiting with bated breath for the results left little air for the creative muse to function. Plus, sitting on pins and needles made me a little too antsy to sit and write.

When You've Got Nothing

I got nothing this morning. Literally nothing. So, I'm taking the advice from many of writers and sitting down to begin typing. The words will come, we've been told, if only we keep our butt in the chair.

I really need to fold that laundry and get the rest of the load into the dryer.

I've been busy preparing a presentation for the Indiana RWA Retreat this month, trying to sort out what I want to tell the participants about being a copy editor. My theme is "Why Copy Editors Drink," and my struggle is figuring what the most important information is to impart in my brief time. November, sweet memories, and Turkey Run

In May of this year, seven other writers and I went to Turkey Run State Park for a retreat. It was a
time some of us needed, some of us just wanted, and all of us enjoyed. We ate, we brainstormed, we talked, we firmed up friendships that had been firm anyway, we drank wine.
