Digging Deep is on Tour!!
It’s my first blog tour of 2013, and I’m taking Digging Deep (an erotic romance from the Xcite Secret Library), to visit six fantastic sites!
Blurb- As site supervisor on an archaeological dig, in the grounds of the Ancient Roman city of Leptis Minus in Tunisia, Dr Beth Andrew’s hands are well and truly full. Her first foreign excavation, which she co-runs with the American archaeologist Dr Harrison Harris, gets off to a shaky start due to the jealous interference of Harrison’s ex, and an overzealous student… Love and lust really can cloud even the cleverest person’s judgement!
I am very grateful to everyone who is allowing me to visit their site over the next few days.
If you’d like to discover the inspiration behind Digging Deep, and learn a little about my real life archaeological adventures, this is where you’ll be able to find me this week-

Guest Post from Grace Marshall- My Own Private Identity Crisis
HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!
Who better to invite over to my site today, than the erotic romance queen Grace Marshall? Or is it KD Grace- or possibly, Kathy?? Over to you hun- whoever you are!! xxxx
Thanks so much for having me over again, Kay. I love coming to yours for a chat. It’s a bit more complicated these days though. When I go visit someone’s site, I have to check to make sure who the invite’s for. This time, it’s for Grace Marshall.
The other day I went to pick up a prescription at the pharmacy, and when the chemist ask who it was for, I said K D Grace. I had a PR email yesterday addressed to Grace, and I had to do a double-take before I realised the email was for Grace Marshall. My husband occasionally gets referred to as Mr. Grace. Oh he’s used to it by now, and he doesn’t mind. It’s sort of like he has a double life as well, though a milder version.
I’m forever introducing myself as K D Grace, accidentally filling out forms as K D Grace, and answering the phone as K D. I know a lot of my erotica writing friends only by their pen names, and that’s how they know me. K D has been so much a part of me for the past three years that it’s no wonder she often barges into my non-writing life. And now there’s Grace Marshall. She’s a bit more subtle at the moment, but then she’s only been around for the past ten months. During that time she’s moved right in and made herself at home. She even has her own coffee cup now.
Living with Grace, K D, and Kathy all crammed into my inner space, I can so completely understand Garrett Thorne’s identity crisis. Garrett writes bestselling romance novels under the name of Tess Delaney. But Garrett is much better at keeping his identity secret than I am. I don’t really care who knows that Grace and K D and Kathy are all living fairly peaceably in the same crowded body. But Garrett has his reasons for wanting to keep his secret life secret, and he’s kept that secret flawlessly until Tess is nominated for the Golden Kiss Award and has to make her first ever public appearance. Now Garrett looks fabulous in a tux and tie … or out. But if he wants to keep Tess’s secret, he’ll either have to go to the award ceremony in drag or hire someone to do it for him, someone who’s the epitome of discretion. Not keen on wearing a dress nor having his chest waxed; against his better judgment, he hires the PR queen of intrigue and secrets, Kendra Davis, to be his Tess while he goes to the ceremony as her date. In spite of the fact that the two don’t like each other, a writer’s gotta do what a writer’s gotta do, and to hell with the consequences.
And wow, are there consequences! Kendra has an identity crisis of her own, and it makes Garrett and Tess’s pale in comparison. Put together two people with major identity crises, who are likely to either kill each other or shag each other’s brains out, and let the fun begin. Here’s a blurb and a little teaser.
Blurb:
PR rep extraordinaire, Kendra Davis, is elated when she gets the chance to work for her hero, reclusive, romance novelist, Tess Delaney. Her elation is short-lived when she discovers that Tess is none other than Garrett Thorne, the bad-boy brother of business tycoon and eco-warrior, Ellison Thorne, who is engaged to her best friend, Dee Henning. Kendra blames Garrett for the comedy of errors that nearly destroyed their relationship. Garrett doesn’t like Kendra either, but he’s desperate. His alter-ego, Tess has been nominated for the prestigious Golden Kiss Award. No one knows who Tess really is, and he needs Kendra to play Tess for the awards.
When Tess is stalked by a rabid fan, the two unite to protect her identity. With Kendra, the body and Garrett the soul of Tess Delaney, is there room in this strange ménage for romance? Can a woman who doesn’t exist understand their hearts even better than they do?
Excerpt:
Before Garrett could say anything else, the line went dead and he and Kendra sat staring at each other. Garrett reached for the remote and switched off the television. ‘So what do you think?’ He said. ‘I mean you are K. Ryde.’
She ran a hand through her hair and tightened the sash at the waist of the robe. In the kitchen they could hear the coffee maker gurgling out the last of the coffee into the pot. ‘Garrett, I work for Tess Delaney, not Don Bachman, and I think it’s up to you. You’ve done what was asked of you. It’s had better than expected results, and now I think you should do what you want. I mean a huge part of Tess’s appeal is her mystique. The more public she becomes the more she risks losing that mystique. If you do decide to have Tess make the odd public appearance, then I’ll happily oblige, but the more I pretend to be Tess Delaney, the more risk we run of her really being outed.’
He tugged a strand of her red hair. ‘You think I should do what I want?’ He scooted closer and brushed a kiss against her parted lips. ‘Because I’m pretty sure you have a good idea of what I want right now.’
She made a half-hearted effort to pull away from him. ‘Garrett, this is serious business, you know. I need to know, K. Ryde needs to know what to do next.’
He gently nipped her lip and felt her breath catch. ‘I know that, Kendra, believe me, I do.’ He guided her hand to rest against the bulge barely contained by his straining shorts. ‘But I can’t think very well at the moment. Perhaps if you could just help me out a little bit here –’ with his other hand, he slid open the bottom of the robe to reveal her lush thighs and beyond, ‘– then maybe I could concentrate on business a little better.’
She forced an irritated sigh that ended in a soft giggle as he pulled her to him, shoving the robe open still further, exposing her breasts to the explorations of his lips and the cupping of his hands as he eased her back onto the sofa, wriggling his way in between her legs. He had just worried open the sash and slipped a hand down to cup her and stroke the unbelievable warmth of her when a loud crash on the front porch caused them both to jump. She jerked the robe back around her, and he shot up from the couch like he was spring loaded.
‘What the hell?’ He scrambled to the door with her right behind him, tightening the sash of the robe as she went.
‘Wait, Garrett. Don’t open it.’ She reached for his hand, but it was already too late. He wasn’t thinking straight. How could he possibly be thinking straight when he had been just about to make love to Kendra Davis? He swung the door open wide and found himself, in nothing but his scant and somewhat bulging work-out shorts, with Kendra barely covered in his over-sized robe, on center stage to a sea of reporters. Cameras flashed, the press surged and before Garrett could close the door, the irritating Mike Pittman shoved a microphone in his face, shouldering his way into the breach of the door. Garrett remembered Pittman from Dee and Ellis’s meeting with the press a few weeks ago. The microphone might have been in Garrett’s face, but Pittman’s eyes and the lens of the cameraman’s camera were focused on Kendra, hair thoroughly mussed from last night’s romp, still tying the over-sized robe that was clearly his, and looking more than a little like she’d just been caught in the act.
‘So it’s true, then, Tess Delaney did spend the night with you after the Golden Kiss debacle?’
The Golden Kiss debacle! That slimy little rat! ‘Get out of my face.’ Garrett’s voice was a dangerous growl, and he wasn’t sure what would have happened if Kendra hadn’t pushed her way front and center.
‘Mr. Pittman,’ she said, in a voice way too good-natured for what Garrett was sure she must have felt. ‘The answer to that question is obvious. Where did you think I would be on such an occasion?’ As if to demonstrate, she ran her arm through Garrett’s and smiled up at him.
‘And what about Barker Blessing?’ Pittman pressed on. ‘Have you heard from him? From his lawyers?’
‘I think you need to talk to Mr. Blessing about that.’ She stepped forward into the man’s personal space and forced him back with nothing more than the power of presence. ‘If you’ll excuse us, Mr. Pittman –’ she shot a quick look around and offered a smile, and a polite nod to the rest of the rabble ‘– everyone. Coffee’s getting cold.’ Her smile turned wicked. ‘I’m starving, and Garrett promised to make me pancakes.’ Then she stepped back and shut the door in the man’s face — not slammed it — just shut it and turned to face Garrett, her back pressed against the door.
‘Make you pancakes?’ Garrett manages before she hijacked the conversation.
‘Rule number one,’ she said, before he could even utter the curse that was on the tip of his tongue ‘Don’t give the press any reason to up the ante.’ She shrugged. ‘Alright, you already blew that one last night, and this is the result.’ She nodded to the shuffling and mumbling they could still hear beyond the closed door. ‘This is why we needed things to go smoothly last night, and why we need them eating out of our hands now.’ She made her way into the living room and peeked around the edge of the curtain at the reporters on the lawn.
‘I blew it?’ He bristled and followed her to the window. ‘You’re the one who dumped your dessert in Blessing’s lap.’
And that was his fatal mistake. Would he never learn to hold his tongue around Kendra Davis? He could see the tension in her shoulders before she turned to face him. ‘It was dessert Garrett, just dessert, not your fist to the man’s face, not a law suit, not jail.’ She stood facing him with her hands on her hips, her eyes bright and fiery. ‘And would you have hit Pittman there, if I hadn’t stepped in?’
‘Oh you’re a fine one to talk about not resorting to violence,’ he said following her around the living room as she scooped together her clothing. ‘You, who nearly dislocated my jaw.’
She turned on him. ‘Oh pa-lease. You deserved it. You’ve deserved everything you got so far, and last night, well if you’d have just let me handle it, then this,’ she stabbed a finger at the door, ‘this wouldn’t be happening.’ She jerked off the robe and stood naked in front of him tugging her panties up over her hips and then shoving into the green dress. And fuck it was hard to stay focused with her doing that. Did she do that on purpose – get his cock’s full attention so his brain wouldn’t work? She probably did. She was a bitch, he reminded himself. How the hell could he forget the number one fact about Kendra Davis? The woman was a bitch. Interact with her at your own risk. He watched her stuff her stockings and garter belt into her bag like they were the enemy, and he was sympathetic.
‘Where’s the back door,’ she said.
‘Through the kitchen,’ he replied, his brain still half-occupied by her angry reverse strip-tease that had left him in a bad way. ‘Wait a minute. Where are you going? What are you doing?’ He followed her into the kitchen with her stumbling into her killer heels as she went.
‘Fixing it,’ she huffed. Then she fumbled in her bag for her iPhone. ‘Hi Dee. You home? Can you come get me. I’m at Garrett’s.’ He was pretty sure Dee got the “don’t ask” warning in her voice. She would have to be deaf and stupid not to. ‘Come around back. The alley yes. Now.’ Dee lived close. Garrett hadn’t planned it that way, but it was a nice neighborhood. Kendra shoved her phone back into her bag and headed for the door. Then she turned her attention to him. ‘You stay put. Don’t go out until I give you the all clear. I mean it, or you can find someone else to fix your fuck-ups.’ Then she shoved her way out the back door, pulling it to carefully to behind her.

Guest Blog- Lily Harlem’s Latest Naughty Novels
I’m delighted to have my dear friend, and fellow smut penner, Lily Harlem with me today-and boy has she had a busy few months!! Over to you Lily…
Thanks so much for inviting me over today, Kay. I’m enjoying taking a breath and relaxing as I’ve been rushed off my feet of late with two new releases before Christmas and three out over the last few weeks. Not only that, I’ve had stories included in various anthologies and have my work cut out in 2013 with a whole host of exciting new projects. Keep reading to find out all my juicy gossip.
Link to Teamwork- http://www.amazon.com/Teamwork-4-Hot-Ice-ebook/dp/B00AFVRAPW/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1354356660&sr=1-1
In December the fourth book in my popular HOT ICE series, TEAMWORK, was published at Ellora’s Cave. (This erotic romance novel is fine as a stand-alone read or can be enjoyed as part of the Viper’s on-going story.) TEAMWORK is the ménage a trois novel of the five books, featuring two hot hockey players and one very lucky physiotherapist from Wales!
Blurb – What I know about hockey could fit on the back of a stamp. So my latest patient may be one of the NHL’s hottest defensemen, but I’m not exactly blown away by his stardom. Add in the fact that he’s a surly, growling grump, and I’m more than happy to work my magic on his battered body then hot-foot to my date with his teammate, Todd “Pretty” Carty.
Todd is sex on a stick, a slice of man heaven, and I want a bit of the action, preferably of the bedroom variety. But when Raven emerges from his bad mood and throws his energy into blowing my mind with just one kiss, I find my head spinning and my libido raging.
What I didn’t bargain on is these hard-training, hard-playing hockey players working as efficiently off the ice as on when it comes to getting results. But who am I to complain when satisfaction is their ultimate goal?
Reader reviews –
This book was great! Very sexy! The Vipers story continues more hot than ever! I loved every minute of it and read it twice. 5*
I recently discovered this author. This is the 4th book in this series & can’t wait for the next. Great series. 5*
LOVED RAVEN! Loved him, loved him, loved him!!!! Did I mention that I loved Raven? Oh, I was so sad to have this one end, but boy did I enjoy every tantalizing bit of it! OH YUM! 5*

Link to Anything For Him -http://www.mischiefbooks.com/books/anything-him/
Just in time for Christmas stockings, came ANYTHING FOR HIM http://www.mischiefbooks.com/books/anything-him/ an erotic novella published by Mischief at Harper Collins. This co-authored e-book written with Natalie Dae is dark and gritty and explores just how far one woman will go for the man she loves. It’s a rollercoaster ride of lust, dirty desires and some seriously hot sex scenes. Probably not for the faint of heart!
Blurb- I prefer to chase the news, not be the news. But when the delectable Liuz, with his uncannily accurate perception of my secret desires weaved his way into my life, it wasn’t long before I was in way too deep, submerged and intoxicated with a passion I was afraid was more than I could handle.
Or was it? Because although my heart was overwhelmed with feelings I had no resistance against, and while my deceitful body was consumed by a burning passion, I still had a plan. A plan I prayed would keep me afloat as I was pushed to the very edge of my limits, while the journey got tougher than even my wildest flights of fantasy could have imagined.
I claimed him and I felt that he was rightfully mine. My heart simply couldn’t beat without a permanent connection between our hearts, minds and bodies. Losing was not an option, not when my sanity depended on winning him.
Because I would, quite literally, do anything for him.
USA Today review just in –
“Anything for Him is an erotically enticing story about what one woman will do for the man she wants. I read this book in one sitting, devouring this story of desire and obsession.” - USA TODAY http://www.usatoday.com/story/happyeverafter/2012/12/25/kristina-wright-best-erotic-romance-2013-recommendations/1790859/ - Kristina Wright

Link to NAUGHTY NURSE http://www.amazon.com/Confessions-Naughty-Night-Nurse-ebook/dp/B00ALKUMDO/ref=pd_rhf_dp_p_t_1_72SX
Just out is another novella from Mischief, CONFESSIONS OF A NAUGHTY NIGHT NURSE. Drawing on real-life experiences from my time as a trauma nurse in London and adding a healthy dose of imagination into the mix, this story follows Staff Nurse Sharon Roane as she spends her nights doing good whilst being bad in the shadowy cupboards, corners and forgotten rooms of a Yorkshire hospital.
Blurb- When scalpels are set down, the ward lights turned off and the patients asleep, there is always time for Mischief …
I guess you could call me a jack-of-all-trades nurse. I find work satisfaction in whichever department the hospital needs me most, as long as it’s through the darkest hours. Needless to say I’ve seen it all over the years, been there and done that, what’s left to shock me isn’t worth knowing. But it’s so often the quieter nighttime where the real high jinx abound.
Yes, the nocturnal life is the one for me. With a weakness for sexy guys wearing white coats and dangling stethoscopes, my fantasies are often realised and I’m adept at finding relief from the hospital grind in shadowy corners and cozy linen cupboards.
Of course my dedication to patient comfort is paramount. What kind of nurse would I be if it wasn’t? But when one act of extreme, albeit highly inappropriate, kindness forced me to become the hospital director’s snitch, the length I went to in order to keep my job, satisfied my desires and found me the love that had always evaded me. A love that made me push even my not-so-professional boundaries to the extreme.

Link to DANGEROUS TO KNOW http://www.ellorascave.com/dangerous-to-know.html
February has seen two releases so far, the first is DANGEROUS TO KNOW http://www.ellorascave.com/dangerous-to-know.html This novella isn’t my usual kind of erotic romance story, in fact there’s no romance in it at all, that’s why it’s in the Exotika line at Ellora’s Cave. DANGEROUS TO KNOW is seedy and dirty and is about New Yorker Karen realizing a dangerous whore fantasy with a man she really should have stayed well away from.
Blurb- For too many years I’ve hidden a sinful, erotic craving in the darkest corner of my soul. Within this deeply buried sliver, shameful fantasies rule and images—seedy, degrading, filthy images—burn through the dark of the night and hold my dreams hostage.
Luckily, the center of my whore obsession is keen to play my slutty game. I know nothing about him, other than his taste, touch and smell, but that’s how I want it, because the one thing I’m certain of is this man is dangerous to know. But despite the risks, in the very heart of New York, in open view, I’ll tempt him with my wares, show him my skills and prove I’m up for the job.
Available from Ellora’s Cave http://www.ellorascave.com/dangerous-to-know.html and all good ebook retailers.

As part of Total-E-Bound’s Clandestine Classic range – http://www.total-e-bound.com/prodtype.asp?CAT_ID=306&sb=bt&so=all&ntt=1 ,I’ve has teamed up with the original author Edgar Rice Burroughs and added steamy jungle scenes to TARZAN OF THE APES. This is only one of several classics brought to life by various Total-E-Bound authors and inserts the sexiness that readers previously had to use their imagination for. It’s important to note that purchase price is only for the added words, not for the original work.
TARZAN OF THE APES by Edgar Rice-Burroughs and Lily Harlem is available from all good retailers in ebook and print (print – 28th Feb). More information from www.lilyharlem.com or Total-E-Bound – http://www.total-e-bound.com/product.asp?strParents=&CAT_ID=&P_ID=2011
Blurb – A wild man with primitive desires, will anyone be able to tame him?
A handsome English aristocrat raised in the jungle by apes, self-sufficient, thriving on danger and with a head full of unanswered questions. Where is he from? Why is he different? What will satisfy the hunger that eats away at the very core of his being and finally feed his appetite for something other than food and shelter?
A delicate American woman, expected to be the best she can be and marry well, but with a craving for adventure and exploration as well as a hope in her heart to find true love with a man who can sweep her off her feet.
When the two very different souls collide, in deepest, darkest Africa, only one thing can happen, and it’s raw and feral. Lust a common language, satisfaction the ultimate goal. But will the gentleman outshine the savage-man? Is virtue to be honoured? And when faced with a civilised decision, can Tarzan do the right thing?

Valentine’s KJB Style!
It’s almost Valentine’s Day- have you ordered those red roses, made that special card, bought some champagne to chill in the fridge? Nope- nor have I! I always mean to do something romantic for my other half, but life inevitably gets in the way!
We all have the same excuses don’t we- no babysitters for the children, no money, no time, too much work…
I am guilty as any on the excuse front! This doesn’t mean we don’t love our partners, nor that they don’t love us- just that we’re all busy getting on with being together and living the lives we have built up together.
So, if like me and many others, you can’t get out for that romantic dinner, but want to do something to show you care- but if that something has to be sorted fast to fit into real life- how about downloading a romantic story- okay, an erotically romantic story- onto their Kindle or PC- something sexy for them to find by surprise? A nice discovery after a hard day at work?
I have often thought that one of the sexiest things is to have someone read to you. Any story read outloud in the comfort of your partners arms is beautiful. If you make the story an erotically romantic one, well…
Let’s face it- words are the most romantic things we have- why not share a few on Valentine’s Day!
Both Digging Deep and A Sticky Situation are available for instant download from Amazon- so why not sort that Valentine’s Day gift dilemma in seconds…
Digging Deep-

A Sticky Situation-

Guest Blog with Victoria Blisse- Valentine’s Day Gifts That Don’t Cost The Earth.
I am delighted to welcome my dear friend, and author extraordinaire, Victoria Blisse,to my site today to share some fantastic Valentine ideas!- Over to you Victoria…
I love Valentine’s day but it seems to get more commercial as time goes on. At casa de Blisse we tend to keep our budget low and get each other things that really show we care. They’re the ones that make the best impact. If you’re struggling to think of cheap but good pressies, I’m here to help.
Mix Tape/CD/MP3
This is a classic! Everyone loves music and every couple has at least a handful of songs that remind them of each other so collecting them together and you’ve got a guaranteed present with heart. A thoughtful And it will only cost you the price of a blank cassette or CD or a little USB drive if you’re going all MP3 and modern and stuff. Much better than some commercial collection that you have to shell out a small fortune for right?
Write a love letter.
People don’t write much anymore. Take the time to pick up a pen and some lovely paper and write to your dearly beloved.
When choosing a pen to write your love letter with make sure it is full of ink and isn’t going to run out on you at any moment! Writing in colour is always sweet but bear in mind that poison pen letters are often written in red and it can be seen as quite an angry and harsh colour.
When you sit down to write your letter be in a relaxed state of mind. It might help to have a photo of your lover or some other memento to look at for inspiration. Don’t force it just write how you feel. It doesn’t need to be Shakespearian in its grandness; the whole idea of a love letter is that it comes from the heart. If all you want to write is “I love you with all my heart” then that’s all you need to write. If you are more inclined to go on for a few pages then do so. Write as much or as little as feels right.
Content wise try to keep to your own words. If you quote someone else, give them credit for it. It is not going to impress your dearly beloved if they find the heartfelt letter they received was actually composed by some dead guy to his wife several centuries before! Again I stress the most important point; a love letter is from the heart. Be sincere and true to your feelings and give your lover something they can keep to remind them of you.
Love Vouchers.
Yes, it is a little cheesy but writing out a little slip of paper which entitles your lover to something special is a way to make the Valentine’s fun last a while.
Some Suggestions:
*An hour long all over body massage.
*Butterfly kisses to be placed wherever your lover wants them!
*A meal cooked by you and the washing up done by you too.
*A night of passion!
*Acting out a kinky fantasy of their choosing.
Sexy Photos.

Take a sexy photo, whatever you want to do but remember if your partner’s at work they might get into trouble for viewing incredibly explicit photos! You can email or send your pic via text and I know your loved one is going to be thrilled by it!
Buy them a book
Preferably one of mine. Well you knew it was going to come up in the end. But seriously, a book is always a great present. Buy a paperback, second hand is fine as long as that book is one that will thrill your partner. Purchase them an ebook or two and load them onto their ereaders. The gift of a good story is always one of the best you can give.
I hope I’ve helped you come up with some ideas for your presents! Here’s a couple of Suggestions if you fancy buying your sweetheart (or yourself) a bit of Blisse this February.
In Paperback pick up Tempting Rendezvous. http://victoriablisse.co.uk/books/tempting-rendezvous

Lily loves fiction and has done since she was a child. It was her escape from the harsh reality of life being brought up by just her over-protective dad. But when he walks into Lily’s book shop he finds out they have a lot more in common than he first thought.
When the young couple take a trip to the famous vampire and human bar, The Point, Lily gets a shock. Her estranged father is there as part of a Purity protest; he is violently opposed to her, Tom and anything that the cult calls unclean. Which is just about anything fun.
Can Lily and Tom overcome these prejudices and their own inexperience to find love that will last forever?

New Home for my Kinky Courier Novella!!
It can’t have escaped your notice, if you’re a lover of erotica, that the wonderful web site Oysters and Chocolate has closed down after 8 amazing years. Editors Sam and Jordan have moved on to new adventures- and thus the books published by the OCPress all need to find new homes. Including my kinky courier novella, Not Her Type: Erotic Adventures With A Delivery Man!
I was stunned, delighted and flattered by how many offers I had for my “opposites attract” story, only hours after the announcement that the OCPress closing! It was a bit overwhelming- but wonderful overwhelming!
Blurb- When Jenny’s regular film courier, John, reveals how she has become the centre of his sexual dream world, Jenny’s quiet existence is thrown into an arena of desire that she thought she’d long since abandoned.
One unexpected, head swimming romp later, and Jenny is left wondering if her courier will ever visit her again, and if he does, will he mention the hot sex they had on her living room floor that Tuesday afternoon, or will he pretend that it hadn’t happened?
When the following Tuesday arrives and John reappears on Jenny’s doorstep, the scene is set for a continuation of intensely kinky weekly meetings. There is only one problem. John really really isn’t Jenny’s type….
****
So, which publisher has bravely taken on this book- which starts in a gently erotic fashion- and then gets EXTREMELY KINKY….?
It’s the 1001 Nights Press run by the multi-talented writer and publisher, Sharazade!
I can’t wait to see my dirty delivery man back on his rounds! As soon as I have a publication date- you’ll be the first to know!!!

Guest Blog – Elizabeth Cage- Location, Location!
I’m delighted to invite my second guest of the year to my site today. Welcome to Elizabeth Cage- let’s talk locations! Over to you Elizabeth…
When I stated to write erotica I had hardly travelled at all. There are two reasons for this. First and foremost, I have a travel phobia (especially flying). Secondly, no-one had given me a compelling reason to tackle my phobia.
I never tackled publisher briefs that requested an exotic location in the story – because I hadn’t been to one, and I do like to have had some experience of what I am writing about. However, some years ago, when I met my current partner (who loves travelling) I was finally persuaded to take my first tentative steps onto a plane. Rome was first on the list. Next, New York. I had more than a few wobbles in the process, and the mile high club was still a mystery (I stayed rooted to my seat!), but as my confidence grew, I suggested a city break to Dresden. In February.
It was freezing. The layers I wore to combat the chilly air were not exactly sexually alluring. (A dress, trousers, woolly tights, two pairs of socks, all manner of warm undergarments and two jumpers. It was really cold.) But as we sat in an atmospheric bar in what is a beautiful and magical city, especially at night, and observed people conversing and drinking, it gave me the idea for an erotic story, which I called Nightcap (later published by Xcite). A subsequent summer trip to Dubrovnik (very romantic) resulted in Peacocks. Watching other people, a trip to the beautiful island of Lokrum, the waiters in a café and some weird coincidences quickly formed the basis for that story, which you can read in another Xcite anthology called Stranger in a Strange Land. A week spent in Iceland, based in wonderful Reykjavik, resulted in a story I called Ice Cream, after a guided visit to see stunning glaciers and waterfalls got me thinking “what if?” It’s all about the erotic possibilities of any situation. (This tale is free to read on the wonderful website The Erotic Woman.)
Every time we visited somewhere new, I jotted down notes for stories, and this helped to distract me from my anxiety attacks. Hey, I had become a travel writer (kind of!).
When you have been writing erotica for many years, I think you can reach a point where you might struggle to make the work fresh and different. (Or is that just me?) But placing the action somewhere exotic can sometimes inject a new element into the mix. Like in real life! Same activities but different place. It doesn’t even have to be in another country – it could be an unusual or unexpected environment. For example, in my erotic romance Two Hearts (in the collection Second Helpings), the setting is a graveyard. Not the first place that springs to mind for an erotic encounter, but it is a black comedy. In No Smoking (in the collection Kissing Velvet) the kinky action takes place in a rural health clinic – with a twist, of course!
My last foray was to Bali, which most people imagine to be a romantic paradise. Whilst there I was attacked by a giant red ant and an army of mosquitos, contracted a raging tummy bug and returned to the UK with the worst chest infection ever. This year, I plan a long weekend to the Isle of Wight and I am hopeful that this will result in an experience more conducive to the birth of some new erotica! Happy travelling!

The Perfect Submissive – Trilogy News!!
I’m zipping by with a NEWS FLASH type blog for you today!!
Now that I have the contract in my hot little hand, I am delighted to be able to announce that my very first novel, The Perfect Submissive, is no longer a stand alone novel, but the first in a trilogy!!
Here’s The Perfect Submissive’s blurb to remind you of the background to the plot-
Hidden behind the Fables Hotel’s respectable facade, five specially adapted rooms wait; ready to cater for the kinky requirements of its guests. When Mrs Peters, the mistress of the hotel’s exclusive entertainment facility, meets the new booking clerk, Jess Sanders, she instantly recognises the young woman’s potential as a deliciously meek addition to her specialist staff. All it will take is a little education. Under the tutelage of the dominatrix, Miss Sarah, Jess learns to cope with her unexpected training schedule, the increasingly erotic chill she experiences each time she survives a new level of correction, and a truly sexy exercise routine. Temporarily distracted from her intimidating rule over Fable’s top floor by an enigmatic artist, Mrs Peters begins to plan how she can secure his obedient assistance, in grooming Jess into the perfect submissive…
****
Thanks to the amazing number of great reviews I’ve had, not to mention the requests I’ve had from readers asking to know what happened to Jess next, I am- this very day- about to dive into writing Part Two- The Retreat!!!
So- rather than jumping up and down in excitement, I’d better get myself down to the coffee shop, open my notebook, grab a pen, and start work! Otherwise, The Retreat- will never reach your bookshelves in the autumn. Nor will Part Three- Knowing Her Place- which will (hopefully!!) be out in the world mid 2014!!
If you missed The Perfect Submissive, and would like to buy a copy, you can have it either as an e-novel or a paperback, or as three separate mini e-volumes (Hidden Agenda, The Art of Submissive Survival, Room 54), from Amazon UK, US, Lovehoney, and all good book and e-retailers.
Happy reading.

Oysters and Chocolate- A Fond Farewell
I never thought I’d see the day- but yes, it’s true- Oysters and Chocolate, and its sister publishing house OC Press, are to be no more.
Editors Samantha and Jordan are off on new exciting adventures- and boy, what a legacy they have left the world of erotica!!!
Almost eight years of top notch erotic short stories, poems, and advice; hot photographs, drawings, and paintings in the gallery, not to mention book reviews, have graced their wonderful erotic web site.
Let’s not forget their paperbacks- the two Oysters and Chocolate erotic anthologies- Erotica of Every Flavor, and Nice Sex, Naughty Girls (both of which I was extremely honoured to have work featured), and then their amazing non-fiction publications (which are BRILLIANT), Mastering Your Man from Head to Head, Penis Genius, and Clitology.
As regular readers of my own site will know, it was Oysters that gave me my first break back in September 2005, with the erotic poem, Regrets…
Regrets, I’ve had a few.
Most of them to do with you.
I should have shagged you on the floor.
In the kitchen; against a door.
I could have pressed you to a mirror,
And seen your sweat marks shine and shimmer.
Watched you spill your creamy cum
Across my tits, my face, my bum.
I was too refined to dare to ask
if you would like an anal blast.
And how I wish I hadn’t been
so refined, so frightfully clean.
Although it was smashing, sexy, great,
I so regret that it’s too late.
After that, Oysters took me under their wing- and I haven’t looked back. True, I’ve had a good many publications with other fantastic publishers since (and hopefully will continue to do so), but without that early encouragement, and Jordan and Sam’s continued support, then I have no doubt that life for me would be very different now. I’d probably have left erotica, and gone back to ‘real life’!!!
I could go on and on about how great the site is- but, hey, you already know that it’s wonderful- so I’ll finish now with a personal thank you to Jordan and Sam.
You allowed me to show over 30 of my stories, reviews, and poems on your site. You let me run fast and loose every Christmas with a new seasonal tale, and took my hot courier man novella, Not Her Type, teaching me the art of editing from English to American in the process!!
Through Oysters I have become friends with authors I had previously admired from afar, and could never have imagined being lucky enough to work with, let alone getting to know- Jeremy Edwards, Rose Caraway, Shar Azade, and Dr Richard Wagner, to name but a few!!
So, hurry off now and catch Oysters and Chocolate while you still can. Don’t forget to read the girls goodbye letter, and the huge number of loving comments that follow it.
I’ll close with a big THANK YOU to Jordan and Sam- for everything. GOOD LUCK will your next projects!!!!!
Love Kay xx

Guest Blog with Allen Dusk- Pushing The Limits, Both Yours and Mine
I’m delighted to welcome my very first guest blogger of the year- Allen Dusk! Over to you hun!
Sitting naked in a room, blindfolded with silk, can leave you in a precarious situation. Will your lover approach quietly from behind, exploring your flesh with their mouth? Or will the assailant, who just strangled your lover in the hallway, rush upon your shivering nudity to dispatch your final breath with a gleaming razor? Either of these scenarios is guaranteed to quicken your pulse, purge screams through quivering lips, and climax with a gush of bodily fluids.
It took me a while to realize why I enjoy writing stories woven together with elements of erotica and horror. Fear and arousal are the most primitive emotions we can experience, and they often manifest themselves with similar traits: sudden pressure within the chest, words choked off, heartbeats breaking into full gallop. Frequently we find ourselves victim to the outcome between these emotions which are in constant battle to ensure our survival. Do we invite that cute co-worker out to lunch because we suspect there’s a mutual attraction, or do we fear the shaming consequences of their rejection when we dare reveal our secrets? Here we go again, and the work day has only just begun.
Writers strive to invoke emotion within their readers, but many of us enjoy stirring up our own feelings while working our craft. Often our own life experiences assist filling our characters with realistic traits readers identify with. Sometimes we use our characters to explore taboos where we dare not tread ourselves. Take for instance my short story, “Her Lover’s Touch”. I knew exactly where my plot was headed when I wrote the opening scene with a nude woman watching a fierce lightning storm through her window. A precise tempo beat in my head, driving the addition of each detail layered into the storyline. From the shadows we studied this woman consumed by insatiable desire, willing to succumb to any stimulation for sexual release, even if it meant getting herself off with a dead lover’s hand.
Eww? I know, gross. I wrote this story hoping to explore the reasons why somebody could be driven to kill their lover, then in the bloody fray afterward, consider saving a piece for later. Serial killers often keep trophies of their kills, most men (yes, I know, sometimes women too –oh, I could never forget you) often view casual lovers as trophies of their own sexual conquests. I explored black recesses of the human psyche and my own baneful fantasies for any reasonable explanation to this tempest of attraction versus revulsion. After discovering smidgens of unsatisfying answers, I freed my mind to explore alternative theories which could only reside someplace past insanity, amidst the paranormal. Finally, I wrote The End, and then sat back scratching my head. I’ll admit things got a bit out of hand; the plot twisted itself with trepidation I could only conjure by pushing myself past what I thought I already knew. I found myself repeatedly reading the end of the story, falling deeper in love with its words with every pass.

Woman in White
I know my style of erotica isn’t for everybody. Most erotic readers seem to enjoy quick pick-me-ups that deliver escape from dim lives or offer safe consumption of forbidden fruits. So go ahead, light some candles, and then submerge yourself in a hot, bubbly bath with one hand on a book and the other between your thighs. Later in the evening, when you rise from the frigid water to blow out the flames, my fables will eagerly await to consume you in the darkness.
Many thanks Allen! An excellent blog to kick off the New Year!
