Guest Blog from Vanessa Wu – Three Easy Steps to Becoming a Prolific Writer
Today I am honoured to have the respected reviewer and writer, Vanessa Wu on my blog, with some very good advice indeed! Over to you Vanessa…
Three Easy Steps to Becoming a Prolific Writer
A little while ago someone wrote to me and told me he had always wanted to write but had always been too busy with other things. ‘So, seriously, how do you find the time?’ he asked me.
I would have loved to be able to offer him three easy steps to becoming a prolific writer but, the truth is, the only way you can find the time to write is by not doing other things. Like sleeping. Or taking a lunch break. Or responding to emails.
Seriously.
So the first thing I did was file away the email and not respond.
But it’s an intriguing question that I’m sure many people ask themselves. How do you find the time to write? After all, for the vast majority of writers, writing is very poorly paid. Most of us have to do something else to earn money. We fit the writing in around work, family, flatmates, lovers, and all the distractions of daily life. And the writing doesn’t exist in a vacuum. It has to be about something. It has to be based on experience.
So how do you get experience and find the time to write about it too?
Well, if I wasn’t too busy writing stories, I’d probably want to say something like this.
Step 1. Write Every Day.
It’s a lot easier to do something every day than it is to do it for an hour once a week. Once you start to miss a day, you lose the habit. You forget to do it. It slips your mind. A day becomes a week. A week becomes a month and before you know it, ten years have gone by and your novel hasn’t progressed by so much as one word.
If you write every day, on the other hand, even if it’s only a paragraph, even if it’s only a sentence, your chapters and stories march inexorably onwards. They nag at you as you lie in bed at night. They wake you up at the crack of dawn and compel you to add paragraphs and pages. They bother you on the bus on your way to work. They jostle you in your lunch break. They stand in your way when you try to watch television. In short, they refuse to be silenced.
Step 2. Count Minutes Not Words.
All writers count words. It’s an occupational psychosis. But if you’re not yet at the stage where you instinctively know when you’ve done 1,000 words, you should start by setting aside a certain number of minutes for writing each day and doing absolutely nothing else. And I mean absolutely nothing else. Not even research. Not even cleaning your glasses or digging the biscuit crumbs out of your keyboard. You must only write. If you are strict about it, you will write because it’s such a waste of time not to.
If you can establish a routine in which you do nothing but focus on writing in that time, you will be surprised by how much you can write. But you must do it every day. (See Step 1.) This is very important because it tells your subconscious that you are serious. After a while you will be able to write at your appointed time and for your set number of minutes without a moment’s hesitation, no matter what you’ve been busy with before.
Step 3. Work Smarter, Not Harder.
This isn’t the nineteenth century. Even if you wrote a 900,000 word three-volume masterpiece, who do you think would have time to read it? You need to complete something short and complete it fairly quickly. This will inspire you to write something else. And the more things you complete, the more your sense of achievement will grow, which will spur you on to write even faster. Look at Kay Jaybee. She is more prolific than Tolstoy and much more widely read.
Which, by the way, brings me to a very important warning. Have a blog if you must, but remember that your blog is there to serve your writing. Your writing is not there to serve your blog. So be sensible. Put your writing first and let other people worry about your blog. If you’re really clever and write very sexy books that everyone admires, they may even write your blog for you.
This is when you can truly call yourself a writer.
****
Thank you once again Vanessa. This is excellent sound advice. I am often asked how I manage to produce so much work. I’m convinced it is because I do exactly what you suggest in Step One. I write for the same about of time, at the same time, in the same place, everyday. If I can work through those two hours, then the stories happen- if I can’t- I am not only a grumpy Kay, but the time wasted getting back into routine over the subsequent days can be criminal!!

And Breathe…
At the end of last year I sat with my dear friend KD Grace, at a little table beside the coast at Lyme Regis having a much needed day off. Coffee in hand, fingertips aching with the exhaustion of twelve months of nonstop typing, we swore to each other, that whatever happened in 2013, we would not take on as much as we had in 2012. We would- we vowed- pester each other to take time out every now and then- to breathe, take stock, spend time with our better halves, and stop beating ourselves up about not producing stories fast enough!

Kd Grace
You can guess what I’m going to say next can’t you! Yes- 2013 is shaping up to be every bit as hectic. This is very much not a complaint! How could I possibly moan about the fact you lovely people are buying my work, and are even asking for more!?
I’m loving every minute of writing The Retreat, the sequel to The Perfect Submissive, and have even managed to squeeze out a short story for the fabulous anthology Smut Alfresco (that was a bit naughty of me time wise- but I did enjoy writing it!!!) But ever since attending the wonderful Eroticon conference, and being surrounded by my equally hardworking peers, I’ve been aware of a need just to take a moment to do exactly what I said I’d do- have quarter of an hour to say “Hang on a minute Kay, why are you giving yourself a hard time about not writing faster? With a family and another job to do, there is no way you can go faster, so give yourself a break woman!!” (Even my subconscious gives me a hard time!)
So here I am, having my fifteen minutes. I’m sat in my favourite coffee shop, and I’m not writing the next chapter of The Retreat as I should be, or cooking up the plots and plans for my next project (which is very exciting- I will tell you when I can!!), but writing this little blog. I’m sipping coffee, munching a muffin, and reminding myself that it is only March, and I’ve already had a novella out with Xcite, (Digging Deep), had a handful of short stories accepted by Smut and Cleis Press, found a new home for Not Her Type: Erotic Adventures with a Delivery Man with 1001 Nights Press (release date to follow soon), released Punished as an e-book with Sweetmeats Press, and written half a novel.
Doesn’t sound too bad when I look at it like that- so why do I still feel that I’m just not working hard enough? And why have I got a feeling that every writer reading this blog is nodding their head, and feeling exactly the same?!
Kd- I think it’s time for another calming trip to Lyme!!
Right- my fifteen minutes is up! Best crack on…so where did I leave my not so perfect submissive this time….must type faster, must type faster…
Happy Reading!

Guest Blog by Tilly Hunter – Lessons From A Newbie
Today I have a new voice on my blog- and a talented new voice to say the least! Wise words indeed from the lovely Tilly Hunter. Over to you Tilly…
First of all, I’d like to say a big thank you to Kay for inviting me over here and letting me share my ramblings with you all. I’m awe-struck to be snuggled up with writers like Kay in the sexy new anthology Smut Alfresco, edited by Lucy Felthouse and Victoria Blisse.
I’ve been tinkering with writing for years. But it was last June that I had a story accepted by Xcite Books and really decided to commit to becoming an erotica author. I’ve learned a lot in that time and am still developing as a writer, so I thought I’d share some of the discoveries I’ve made as a newbie.
1. Be Nice
The world of erotica is a relatively small one when you can link up with experienced authors and editors directly on Twitter. Most are truly lovely, supportive people. So be nice to them. Don’t pester them for opinions on your masterpiece. Keep things positive. If you like someone’s work, say so; if you don’t, keep it to yourself. And when you’re submitting a story to an editor, do exactly what they ask even if they want it hand delivered by camel in a shiny pink box dusted with icing sugar.
2. Be Modest
You may be Shakespeare reincarnated. But it’s unlikely, so you’re going to have to work at your craft. I reckon being a writer is 10% natural talent, 90% hard work. Writers who are successful now have probably spent years building up to that. Remember that everything you write is practice, and practice is useful whether it gets published or not. So write regularly, read what you’ve produced critically and think about how you could make it better.
3. Be Brave
So you’ve accepted that you’ll always be developing as a writer, but don’t doubt yourself to the point of paralysis. You’re going to need a lot of self-belief to deal with rejections. Be brave in what you write too. Don’t let the mother-in-law/priest/school teacher looking over your shoulder censor your work. Unless that’s what you’re writing about and, as this is erotica, it conceivably could be! Try out new genres, themes, groupings. If you’ve always written hetero couples, write some ménage, or same-sex. If you’ve always written contemporary stories, try historical or fantasy. Flex the muscles of your imagination.
4. Be Real
I much prefer interacting with writers on social media and blogs who talk like real people rather than marketing robots. I like to post things that might make people smile, like something weird I’m Googling for research or some daft mistake I’ve made. But be real in a wider sense as a writer too. Start thinking of yourself as a writer. Take this part of your life seriously and commit to it. For me, this also encompasses writing things I care about. I’m never going to pen the next blockbuster, but I do care about presenting kink as part of normal, committed relationships.
5. Be a Writer Who Reads
Some people say that reading too much in your genre can get in the way of you finding your own voice. You start mimicking other authors just as you might pick up someone’s accent in conversation. But I think that’s a reason for reading more widely, not avoiding reading altogether. You can learn from other writers, analysing what works and what you might do differently without copying them. So read in your genre, but also read other things with a writer’s eye – different types of erotica, mainstream blockbusters, classics, poetry, gossip columns…

Guest Blog: IJ Miller- “A Male Erotic Romance Writer?”
I’m delighted to welcome a new face to my blog today- the erotic romance writer I J Miller. Along with my good friend Jeremy Edwards, IJ is one of the few male erotic romance writer’s on the block. So- can you really have a male erotic romance writer? Over to you Mr Miller…
For a long time I assumed that mostly women wrote erotic romances and an even higher percentage wrote romances. After the publication of my new erotic romance, WUTHERING NIGHTS, I was asked to do an interview for a romance website. One of the questions was, “No interview would be complete without asking what your favorite comfort food is.”
My suspicions were confirmed.
Going with the flow, my answer was chocolate.
So how did I, a man, end up writing an erotic romance?
Well, firstly, my literary agent submitted a proposal I had drafted to do an erotic mashup of a Dickens’ novel. The publisher liked my writing and asked if I could do a retelling of Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights instead. I readily agreed. For all I knew, they might have assumed I was a woman.
Bronte’s classic was an excellent choice by the publisher. Dickens is a great storyteller, but his stories don’t necessarily have romantic associations, although my proposal added great romance to the original story. Perhaps less by the book and more so from the movie versions, Wuthering Heights always had a great aura of romance about it, and is perhaps one of the greatest love stories ever told. People have mixed feelings about the book because Heathcliff and Catherine aren’t your typical hero and heroine and are quite flawed, Catherine particularly narcissistic, Heathcliff particularly brutal. But when you really get into the thick of the story, their intensity to be bad, along with their desire to be good, does make for an amazing novel.
I was keen on not simply using a lot of verbatim text then throwing in some sex. I restructured the book and added new plot twists and turns to make the eroticism more organic so it flowed with the story. My first draft was probably more of a male version, heavy on the physical description and the action, less on the inner emotional lives of the characters. My editor gave me copious notes for the second draft and asked me to read Sylvia Day.
Emotion, emotion, emotion was fleshed out in so many of the scenes as I plunged head first into the rewrite. And you know what? It made for a much better book. Thank you, editor. Thank you, Sylvia Day.
I still think the edge and the explicitness of my version gives it a male approach, and perhaps I had an advantage gaining insight into Heathcliff that even Bronte didn’t have, but exploring all facets of the deep emotions of the story was a lot of fun and gave it the romance and depth it needed and helped this new version do justice to the original.
So, obviously, I think men can write erotic romances and romances, but perhaps we just need a little more help.

Many thanks for you blog IJ- much food for thought!
If you can’t wait to read Wuthering Heights IJ Miller style- then here’s a tempting taster to whet the appetite!
It was not by experience, but by incredible sensuous instinct that the pair continued this gentle lovemaking. Although almost everything on this night seemed like a first, they had locked inside them the wisdom of two beautiful creatures constructed for full carnal pleasure. Inspired by the feelings and tension between them that had been nurtured and grown since their childhood, their touch, their whispered expressions of love, their exchange of caresses and kisses held more power than any lightning in a storm.
Side by side, as equals, they kissed passionately. Without thought, their tongues escaped their mouths and entered the one opposite, touching, playing, caressing, as did their hands over each other’s bodies. It was as if neither had eaten, and the only meal that could satisfy this hunger was each other.

Eroticon 2013- What a weekend!
What a weekend!!!!!!!!!!
You can’t have failed to notice, whether you went along or not, that this past weekend was the Eroticon 2013 conference. Two whole days of meeting authors and faces from the world of erotica who I only get to ‘know’ via Facebook, twitter and blogs, and catching up with many of the incredible friends I’ve made in the erotica world over the past seven years. For me the weekend started on Friday night, when my partner in crime KD Grace – Maxim Jabawolski called us the terrible twins! I can’t think why!- arranged with the ultra talented Delores Deluxe and the Kitten Club for us to hit the Volupte club to see them in action. Superb!!!!!
I tried my very first cocktail- it was in a shot class and it took me two hours to drink it- and I loved it!!

Sipping cocktails with Lucy Felthouse
The evenings entertainment was wonderful. The best bit however was that Kd and I went with Lucy Felthouse, Victoria Blisse, Lily Harlem, Lexie Bay and Tabitha Rayne!! How cool is that!! And how could I forget the compere for the eveing- Dave the Bear!!
I promise we didn’t get too worse for drink, and were all ready and (vaguely) bushy tailed when we hit the conference- but what to see?? The mix of talks, panels and workshops was excellent, and it was a shame I couldn’t be in two places at once. In the end I picked a real mixture of sessions, the highlights being Kd’s workshop on Finessing Sex, Remittance Girl’s talk on eroticism, and Mario’s photography workshop.

Kd Grace Polishing Our Writing Skills
Best of the bunch for me personally however, has to be Ashley Lister’s poetry workshop. It was the incredible fun, and had us laughing out loud as we all constructed limericks and poems with lashings of smut and huge helpings of silly. I adore writing poetry, and although I am far from being a poet, I have always found the process of picking the exact words for a poem a very useful tool for writing- it was wonderful to hear Ashley say the same!
So- what limerick did I write- here you go!!
My friend Grace is so blue,
There’s really now’t see wont do
For a pitcher of cream
And a dirty magazine
She’ll fuck you while playing kazoo
(Obviously any references to KD Grace here are TOTALLY accidental!)
As ever with these events, it is the social element that make it even more fun. I was over the moon to meet Anoymisslily, Liv Honeywell and Ruby Goodnight for the first time, and to catch up with Hazel Cusion, Rachel Krammer Bussel, Janine Ashless, Kristian Lloyd, Harper Elliot, Remittance Girl, Tiffini Angus, Jilly Boyd, and Heather Day. It was also great to catch up with the author formerly known as Jade Whisky! But I was utterly gutted to miss Modesty Ablaze and many other folk who I’d have loved say hi to- looks like we’ll have to do it all again next year!!
So a huge thank you to Ruby Kiddell! A wonderful weekend honey. Go take some time off- and then do another one!!
Happy reading everyone xx

Guest Blog from Victoria Blisse- What is Vanilla?
I’m delighted to welcome Victoria Blisse back to my site today. Not only is she teasing us with three extremly delicious extracts from her latest work- Vanilla With Nuts- she is asking a very good question. Over to you Victoria…
What is Vanilla?
It’s certainly not just an ice cream topping. We talk about vanilla sex and often it’s a derogatory term and is seen as quite boring. I don’t think that’s right. Vanilla is the favourite flavour of ice cream because it takes extra toppings well and I think vanilla sex is a good basis for adding little extra spicy treats, a little spanking, a little bondage, a bit of sexy fun in the outdoors.
Vanilla with Extra Nuts is a brand new ménage story, featuring two hot guys and one shy and sexy vanilla girl. Here’s the blurb:
She’s just a vanilla girl until she finds her perfect toppings.
Megan is slowly falling in love with Adam until he confesses he’s seeing a guy behind her back. She thinks the relationship has been ruined until the night she indulges in a threesome with the man she loves and Simon, his lover.
As much as she enjoys being sandwiched between the two men she’s not sure the arrangement can last. So Megan has to decide.
Can she come to terms with sharing the man she adores with his male lover or will she have to say goodbye to her soulmate forever?
****
Megan in Vanilla with Extra Nuts might be seen as quite boring and a little close-minded but she finds that adding a little extra to her usual favourite sexual flavour isn’t a bad thing at all.
Mild Excerpt
“I’m going to just be honest with you, Adam,” I said, and took a step towards him. “I would like nothing better than to walk over there right now, to pull you to me, and to kiss you and just forget this whole business. I’d love to go back to the way we were, but that isn’t going to happen. I don’t know if I can live with sharing you. I’ve always been a pretty vanilla girl. I have the average fantasies of a straight woman. I dream of meeting a man, falling in love, marrying him, and having babies. Not at any point have I thought about sharing a man with someone else. I mean, you were honest with me about fantasies and I have wondered what it would be like to be with two men at the same time, but I always thought that was just fantasy. Anyway, what I think I am trying to say is that I want you, but I just don’t know how to deal with this situation.”
“Can’t we just give it a go?” He stood up and took a step towards me. “All I’m sure of from this conversation is we both want each other, both regret what has happened, and want to go back to how we were. Can’t we do that and work out the rest as we go along?”
He was so close to me I could have reached out to touch him, but I didn’t. I didn’t know what to do.
“I want to do that, I do, but I still don’t know if I can handle being less than your one and only. We could fuck right now and love it, but would we just be delaying the inevitable heartbreak? I don’t want that, Adam, I really don’t.”
He brushed at my cheek and ran into my hair, holding my face gently in his hand a moment before he responded. His response was a kiss. At first I didn’t do anything. I wasn’t thinking straight. I was a little angry at how he’d ignored my question. This sweet impact of lips on lips was exactly what I didn’t want to happen because if I just let my body feel, my mind would switch off and the issues would not be settled. Instead of stepping back, pulling away, or yelling at him, I stood completely still. I froze as my mind whirled and my body begged and I battled with myself over what to do next. The low, masculine moan that vibrated through me was my undoing. It was as if the vibrations loosened me and my lips began to respond to the kiss, my arms wrapped around him instinctively, and my breasts pressed wantonly against his chest without me even realizing what they’d done.
Wrapping his arms around, he held me tightly as I had longed for them to do all week. He pressed himself into me. I could feel his arousal and sensed his relief. Our twin emotions twined around us and knit us together. I felt invisible hands pushing me towards him, keeping me from pulling away, and even though I knew it is all my imagination I didn’t fight it. I didn’t want to. I wanted Adam and maybe that would be enough.
His hands worked up under my T-shirt and cupped beneath my lace covered breasts. He squeezed and gasped, then broke our kiss for a moment to pull the top up and over my head. His lips fell back to my neck and the newly exposed flesh. Fingers scrabbling with the clasp at my back, his lips trailed over my collarbone and down to the V of my cleavage. When the clasp gave and his fingers worked to slip away the straps down my arms, his mouth feasted on each new inch of tit that was revealed. When he had discarded the bra and was once again cupping my breasts, naked this time, he lifted my nipples to his lips to suck and nibble at them.
By that point I was helpless, lost in lust. A little corner of my mind felt uneasy, knowing that the issue had still not really been resolved, but the rest of me was just ecstatic to be touched by him again. I had missed him so very much. His ever-busy fingers now pulled at the button and zip of my jeans. It took him only a moment to loosen them and seconds more to pull them down to my knees. He knelt at my feet and pulled off my boots, then slipped my jeans down my legs.
I felt naked, maybe even more so as I only had on the flimsiest of knickers. Their tininess emphasized the largeness of the rest of me and I felt awkward. I was not terribly confident in my skin and would normally wear a light negligee that would hide all my bumps and imperfections. The exposure was uncomfortable, but as he rose to his feet and pulled me over to the bed with him, my worries melted away.
Medium spiced excerpt.
“It’s all a bit…quick.” I’d hoped we’d have a few days just like we had been, just a couple before we’d have to face the Simon thing. I was wishing I’d kept my big mouth shut as he tapped numbers into his mobile phone. My stomach churned.
“Hey, Simon.” He smiled. I hope he smiled like that when he heard my voice. “Yeah, it was her. I know. She’s here now in my room. Want to come ‘round?” When I realized what he was asking, I shot up in bed and shook my head and arms emphatically. “Yeah, all right. See you in ten minutes, bye.”
“Ten minutes?” I shrieked. “What are you playing at? I’m not even halfway decent and I don’t know what to say and I need to think and, well, and and—”
“Hush, its best this way.” Adam slipped back into bed with me. “He’ll be over soon and we’ll get it all sorted out. He’s so eager to officially meet you I’m sure you’ll get on fine.”
He kissed me and pulled me back down under the bedclothes. I was still panicking deep inside, but as his lips pressed harder against mine and his hands smoothed down my curves, I began to calm down a little. He kissed down the side of my neck and I groaned. I loved to be kissed just there. It made me feel so deliciously vulnerable.
“That’s good,” I gasped, “but I’m a little scared still, Adam. I’m not sure I’m mature enough to handle this. I don’t know if I can share you, I don’t know.”
“Hush, darling.” He punctuated his words with gentle kisses. “It’s going to be okay, I know it.” His mouth wrapped round my left nipple and sucked and for a moment all thought left my mind as I enjoyed the erotic tug of his lips and the soft nip of his teeth. He cupped the other breast and I just revelled in his adoration. It felt so good to have Adam back and with a stinging jolt to my heart I realized how hard it would be to let him go again.
“I can’t let you go again,” I gave voice to my thoughts, I needed him to know a little of the tumult of emotion inside of me,
“You’re not going to have to, sweetheart. Don’t worry.” He moved back to my lips and kissed me so thoroughly I thought I might orgasm simply from his heated caress. He really knew how to kiss.
Just then there was a knock at the door.
“Fuck!” I jumped and scrambled for the blankets to cover myself. Adam just smiled and shouted, “Come in, Simon.”
Before I could protest, Simon was in the room and shutting the door behind him. He seemed even bigger now than I remembered him and I felt threatened by his presence.
“Oh, hey, I see you’ve started without me. Give me a moment and I’ll catch up.”
I was as stunned as he threw off his black jacket and undid his tie that I didn’t say a word until he had his crisp white shirt unbuttoned to the navel.
“Wait, stop, what are you doing?”
“Undressing,” he replied as he finished the last button and I was treated to the sight of his hard chest as he pushed the white material off his shoulders. For a moment all I could think about was tracing my hands over his body.
“But, I mean, well, don’t we have to talk first?”
Simon looked at Adam and they both shrugged in unison.
“I think actions are louder than words,” Adam said and kissed the nape of my neck. “We can talk later.”
I looked at Adam and scrunched my brows so he would know I was pissed off. He just kissed me in the middle of my forehead, then whispered in my ear, “Trust me, darling, it’s going to work out all right, just trust me.”
When I looked up again, Simon was naked. I gulped as I let my eyes trace the length and breadth of his delicious, hard body. There was no doubting I wanted to taste him and feel his body against mine. I looked up into his dark brown eyes and he smiled, willing me to be okay with this. I could see he was nervous too, despite his striptease bravado. I smiled back then and thought, “What the hell?” If we couldn’t work things out after we fucked, well, at least I would have the memories of a fantasy come true to keep me warm at night.
“Are you sure you’re okay with this?” he asked as he walked over to my side of the bed. “I’ll go if you don’t want me here.” Part of me wanted him to go, but it really was a tiny fraction of the whole. My body was desperate to feel his bulk pressed against my soft, giving curves.
“I’m okay, I want this,” I said, then followed it up quickly with, “I think I do anyway.”
“That’s good enough for me,” he said and leaned in to kiss me. You know as well as I do that everyone kisses in a different way. Adam is a very smooth, very subtle kisser. He starts off slowly and builds up to a crescendo. Simon is not like that at all. His kisses are aggressive and hungry and leave you gasping for breath after only a matter of seconds.
I noticed, once I had become accustomed to Simon’s kissing, that Adam’s lips were on my neck again. I don’t think I can find the right words to convey to you the sheer excitement that two pairs of lips on your body brings. A kiss is a thrill but two kisses at the same time from two different people is pure ecstasy. I closed my eyes and the two pairs of lips began to roam. I could tell who was kissing where, but after a while I just didn’t care.
“I knew you’d love this,” Adam whispered as he took a break from kissing. I could feel his long, lithe body pressed against my right side and his hand rested on my stomach. Simon was kissing still, down over my breasts, I marvelled at how easily I accepted his sexual advances. “I knew there was a sweet little slut inside you, longing for this.” Adam slipped his hand down my stomach to the juncture of my thighs. They were closed together, sandwiched between two hot men, so Adam lifted his leg and hooked it over the top of mine essentially holding me open so his fingers could slide inside me.
Seriously spicy excerpt
Adam kissed me, cutting off my moans and muffling my gasps. Two tongues invaded me and teased me to the very heights of ecstasy. I was overloaded with the different touches and strokes over my body and I knew in a matter of moments I would explode. Then Simon stopped and I think I whimpered.
“Not yet, love, not yet.” Simon cooed and winked at me as I pouted down at him. “Damn, you and Adam make a fan-fucking-tastic cocktail. I always thought you would. I want to drink from your freshly fucked pussy on a regular basis now. It’s addictive.” I blushed but I smiled too. However, the smile was soon replaced as my jaw dropped. Simon parted Adam’s thighs and placed his juice covered lips around the very hard cock of my boyfriend. I’ve never seen a man give a blowjob before, nope never, so as well as being as hot as hell I found watching Simon’s technique very enlightening.
He used his hands to tease and stroke Adam’s balls almost constantly and he kept up a steady rhythm. I ran a finger through my sticky folds as I watched eagerly and took note. Simon pulled away suddenly and it was Adam’s turn to whimper with disappointment.
“You know I love your cock, baby,” Simon purred, “but right now I want to feel that gorgeous pussy wrapped around my dick. You don’t mind, do you, buddy?”
“No, no, I completely understand. Go ahead man, fuck her. I can see she’s gagging for it.”
My jaw dropped in disbelief at the way Adam just treated me like some kind of possession, but I said nothing because I really did want to be fucked and I was, as he’d said, gagging for it. Simon moved back between my thighs and leaned over to the bedside table. He opened the little drawer and pulled out a condom. Obviously he was used to Adam’s habits and for a minute I felt the old feelings of jealousy and upset overcoming me, but as Simon sat back on his heels, peeled open the packet, and rolled the condom over his thick cock I forgot all that and the lust over took my emotions once again.
Adam pressed his cheek against mine as we both craned our necks to watch Simon’s cock press between my lips. I felt so cherished, so sexy in that moment as one hot guy slipped inside of me and another held me close in his arms. Adam and I both watched enraptured for a few moments as Simon’s cock worked in and out of my slippery cunt. I was on fire, my cheeks and my chest were enflamed with heat. I tingled all over, my skin so sensitive every subtle touch brought me ever closer to orgasm.
Adam kissed me and his hand ran down over my stomach. I closed my eyes and concentrated on his lips on mine. It was such a strange sensation to have one man fuck you and one man kiss you, but it was good and something I wanted to experience again and again. I groaned when his fingers slipped down to my clit. As Simon fucked me Adam rubbed me just how I liked.
Adam’s lips left mine and again we were cheek to cheek watching what happened between my thighs. I found it hard to hold my eyes open, the pleasure grew in intensity and I didn’t want to miss one moment of this amazing experience. But eventually the sensations became too much and the ecstasy shot through me with such power my eyelids rattled shut as a desperate, orgasmic scream ripped from me.
Many thanks for those wonderfully sexy extracts Victoria. I couldn’t agree with you more- Vanilla is far from dull- and I love the ice cream analogy!!

Guest Blog- It’s Renee, Sh! Sexpert Supreme!!!
I just love having guests on my site, but I’m particularly excited about my visitor today- Renee, from the Sh! Women’s Store in London.
I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Renee on a number of occasions over the last few years. I’ll never forget the first time- I was consumed with nerves, and attempting to face-down a massive bout of stagefright before plunging into my very first public erotic reading. Renee was so reassuing- and I’ll be forever grateful for her “Go for it, you’ll be great” attitude! Renee is great fun, and one of the kindest people I’ve ever known to wield a whip in the name of customer education!!
When Renee offered to share a day in her life as a sexpert with us, I jumped at the chance- it’s over to Renee
Hi there!
My name is Renee, and I’m a professional lady of pleasure.
The above statement may lead you to think I’m a sex worker, and whilst that isn’t the case, I’m most definitely in the field of pleasure. I’m a full-time ‘sexpert’ (and I say that with my tongue planted firmly in my chubby cheek). The modern term is Sex Educator, but few people search cyberspace for those, so by using ‘sexpert’ we ensure we’re easily found! *wink*
I work at Sh! Women’s Erotic Emporium in Hoxton, east London, along with a dedicated team of female sex educators known as the Sh! Girlz. The Sh! Girlz are undoubtedly the UK’s friendliest sexperts; offering knowledgeable advice along with cups of tea, to women and couples of all ages. If you haven’t yet been to the store, I’d love for you to come along for what will be an eye-opening experience that’ll have you giggling with delight in no time!
You may wonder how I qualify for my job, and that’d be a fair question. Granted, I don’t have a degree in SexToys & Orgasm, but 20-odd years of practical training (at home, mind you) plus six years of discussing the ins&outs of sex with thousands of women does qualify me in a way that a diploma never could. I read, I write, I listen, I learn – I even look at questionable websites for research purposes (a word of warning here: don’t look at my browser history – you may live to regret it)! I realise I’m very lucky in that my hobby is also my job (and that I have a boss who doesn’t bat an eyelid when I surf sex toy sites during work hours).
Each morning (and when I say ‘morning’, I mean ‘midday’ as that’s when my day starts) I go through my inbox, which is usually packed full. Many emails are from customers wanting help or advice, or young women keen to work with us. And, if you are one of the latter, please pay attention now: Never include pictures of your naked boobs ~ it is so awkward employing someone whose pert nipples I have already seen..!
On any given day, we receive dozens of pervy phonecalls. It could be anything from men trying to order blowjobs, to someone masturbating whilst whispering “are you wearing socks?” One such caller is ‘Richard from Devon’ who calls up regularly to enquire about panties suitable for forced incontinence. I’m not usually one for suggesting customers go elsewhere, but in this case I think stocking up on M&S multi-packs cotton knickers would work out much cheaper…
In this line of business you can’t be easily flustered ~ we handle enema bulbs and butt plugs every single day ~ but I do sometimes get shy. I recently had a pair of sisters in, neither of whom where very comfortable in our bright pink space. Despite their reluctance to touch the toys I showed them, they each managed to stack up neat piles of goodies on the counter. As they were about to leave, one of the sisters turned to me and said such a heartfelt thanks, I almost got teary eyed.
It turned out that her body had changed so much after several natural births that she no longer recognised it as her own. It didn’t look like her body; it didn’t behave like her body, it didn’t feel like her body… By spending a good hour with them, showing a number of products that I believed would be suitable for their particular needs, I had, without realising it, helped her to think differently about this ‘new’ body and what it might like.
And *that* is exactly what it’s all about.
As fun and silly as my job is, there is also a very serious side to it. What we do empowers women, permits them to seek out sexual pleasure in its various forms and ensures they have the right tools and information to be able to do it safely.
Talking about sex comes naturally to me (I am Swedish, so that might explain it), so naturally that I teach classes on the subject. Our most popular class is Blow His Mind – a beginner’s guide to the fine art of fellatio. We talk anatomy, tips & tricks to help with sticky moments and how to make his come taste better… Guests usually leave our classes covered in lube and hooting with laughter. It’s not unusual for guests to email us afterwards, telling us how the ‘homework’ went. One lady told us how her husband was so pleased he could barely walk! Now if that isn’t the best review, I don’t know what is..!
We also host regular erotic art exhibitions, book launches and erotic book readings by the lovely likes of Ms Jaybee here. And, talking about erotica, if you (like me) enjoy hot stories I would recommend you pop along to the Sh! Girlz blog as we have a freebie-stories every Friday! A long list of the very best authors of ‘erotic romance’ (smut, to you and me!) have donated excerpts and stories to get us all in the mood, and what better way to start the weekend! Kay’s filthy treat will be posted on Friday 8th March, so make sure you check it out!
Sh! is the UK’s first and still only truly female-focused sex shop. Men are welcome when accompanied by a female, or if they prefer to shop solo we run Gent’s Nite’s every Tuesday 6-8pm. Our website is full of fun toys and helpful tips: www.sh-womenstore.com , or if you’d prefer to visit in person you’ll find us at: 57 Hoxton Square, LondonN1 6PB.
Facebook: Sh! Hoxton
Twitter: @Shwomenstore
~ Thank you soo much for having me Kay, it’s been a delight! ~
A huge thanks to you Renee, for taking the time to write this fabulous- and funny- blog. What an incredible job you have! I can’t wait to see you again in person on 20th April, when fellow author Kd Grace, and myself, invade Sh! once again with a naughty reading or two!! If you’d like to book a spot to come and listen, and perhaps meet the wonderful Renee in person, then follow this link!

The Punished Connection…
A number of years ago I wrote a short story called Punished, for the much missed Oysters and Chocolate webzine. Written from the perspective of a young woman who, with her boyfriend, had been caught having sex without permission by their master, Punished was one of the first BDSM tales I ever wrote.
Sometime after Punished appeared on the web, I was reading some of my other literary wares at the Sh! Women’s Store in London, when a young man bounded up to me- with what can only be described as hopeful enthusiasm! That man was Kojo Black- the owner of the Sweetmeats Press, who kindly told me how much he’d loved reading Punished, and asked if I’d like to write something for him… Something like Punished – but not Punished- and a bit longer…
This was quite a challenge. Obviously I wanted to produce something in the same BDSM vein, but something brand new. The result was The Circus.
This BDSM novella, with a similar voyeuristic bent to Punished, appears in the paperback Immoral Views, as well as being available as a standalone e-novella.
The positive consequences of my writing Punished didn’t end there. After I’d completed The Circus, I had another request from Mr Black- ‘Hey Kay, fancy writing a novel for me now…?’
Well, what could I say…?
So along came my erotically kinky romance Making Him Wait! Still BDSM, but a very different kind- a mind over matter kind- where you’re never quite sure who has the upper hand…
So Kojo’s enjoyment of that first short tale Punished led to The Circus, and The Circus led to Making Him Wait, and Making Him Wait will led to…what next I wonder…?
In the meantime- back to Punished…
A few weeks ago I received permission to reuse all the stories that I’d had on the Oysters and Chocolate site. It seemed only natural to knock on Kojo’s door, and say, ‘Hi sweetie- fancy taking on Punished for your new mini e-story series?’
And his answer? Well, that would be a yes!
If you’d like to find out what it was that Kojo liked so much about Punished, then you can download it from Amazon.com , Amazon UK, and other good e-retailers! And at the bargain price of 77p or $1.22, it won’t even cost you the price of a coffee to find out!!
Happy reading guys!!

Interview with Rose Caraway- The Podcast Erotica Queen!
Towards the end of last year I was introduced to Rose Caraway by my friend, and fellow writer, Jordan La Rousse. I am so glad that introduction was made!! Since that time, I have been extremely lucky to have had one my of short stories narrated by Rose on her Sexy Librarian podcast, and another as part of her audio version of Cleis Press’s Gotta Have It – and I’ve made another great friend in the world of erotica!
In December Rose kindly did an excellent blog for this site, and since then I’ve been dying to ask her a few questions- so, here we go!!
Hello, Kay! I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to visit with you again. Thank you so much for this!
Hey Everybody! Rose Caraway here, what do you say we dive it?
1. “You run two amazing podcast erotica sites- The Sexy Librarian and The Kiss Me Quicks. How did these brilliant erotica platforms come to life?”
Thank you so much, Kay for the compliment! And I know that this interview was meant to help tell folks about what I do, but I absolutely must thank you again for the AUTOGRAPHED copy of “Making Him Wait”! I have read this kinky tale twice now, and enjoyed it even more the second go around.
Well, let’s see. First of all, I am one of those people that dreams nearly every night, and even while driving, walking, gardening or warming up for Jujitsu my mind totally strays. I am one of those quiet girls, really. I don’t advertise what I do. I will happily stand at the back of a room, tucked in but I am always watching, observing. I am definitely not an attention whore, lol! But I do hold my erotica novels the exact same way that I hold my horror books; in the open. People see what I read, and I especially love it when they ask if the book I am reading is any good! Many a folk have laughed under their breath and called me a walking contradiction because of my imagination.
I am never at a loss for something to write down and have built up quite a collection of short stories. What do they say? It’s a gift and a curse. And like with all writers, doesn’t matter if its good or not. When a thought creeps in, I must write it down. My stories obviously don’t all become something worth expanding on, but when they do, I write until there’s nothing left and then hand the carefully stapled pages over to my husband/first reader, and wait.
Now, you should know that I rate myself as a very sexual person, so these “dreams” nearly always end up with some kind of erotic-twist, which my likewise horny husband thoroughly enjoys. I can write a quick little sexy tale and *Sha-wing*… score for me! Boys are so cool that way! In the beginning, my writing had always been intended for just the two of us. Sure, I had fantasies of being a full-fledged author, since forever. But the words were worth more to me while being used as a private game, a delightfully sinful little instrument that has kept my marriage… wonderful! We are a couple of regular folks that have been married for fourteen years (isn’t that fabulous), and we are still going strong, really, I swear. Scouts honor. (I should tell you all that I only made it to Brownies, in Girl Scouts, but the sworn statement still counts, lol!) We have a family, each work other jobs, mow the lawn and walk the dogs. This is one of the most important things that I want my listeners to really understand. I do not have a character, what they hear is actually me. I am a sex-loving, active, family adoring and sometimes hokey girl that just wants to share the importance of being okay and unashamed about sexuality.
“The Kiss Me Quicks” actually came about by way of my husband’s suggestion. Big Daddy and I were talking one day, after I read him one of my fabulous little quickies, when the usual discussion of ‘people today’ came up. You know how it goes, right? When you, the shining example of a Practically Perfect Married Couple compares your relationship to all the other married couples within your friend/co-worker/acquaintance/family circles? I remember we lay there, comfy, cozy, proud. Yet, a brewing sense of responsibility somehow seeped in. We began talking, once again about The Dan Savage podcast called, “Savage Love”. If you haven’t listened to it, please do. It isn’t important if you agree with Savage’s politics or not, its the people that call in that have intrigued me and my husband for so long. Among the callers, are many people complaining that their spouses or partners aren’t fulfilling them, sexually. The reason often times is due to some kind of trauma or shame. It just breaks my heart to hear some of these folks calling in with their stories. They sound so wounded and frustrated, ashamed and lonely. I am grateful that people like Dan Savage are available to help. Between all the fucked-up parents and deeply-seeded cultural traditions that have not only repressed but destroyed countless men and women, my husband and I felt there was something we should do. It was a calling. Sexuality, should never be disrespected, so carelessly treated or frigidly controlled to the point of abuse. Sexuality, in our opinion should be healthily maintained.
In short, “The Kiss Me Quicks” is the perfect marriage of both mine and my hubby’s talents and it is our way of giving folks permission to feel good about themselves. To let people explore their own sexuality. Its a home, not only for those of us already comfortable with allowing erotica stories to get our juices flowing, but for those seeking a place that won’t treat them like a child. Listening to erotica with your spouse/partner/alone is incredibly sensual and my husband and I want everyone to simply have fun with it.
2. “It is unusual for an erotica writer like yourself to specialize in the audio world- what makes you wish to articulate your work (and that of others), rather than simply write it down?”
Unusual? Maybe, but I am certainly not the first. Nobilis Reed does it. Remittance Girl did it. Two very talented writers, both of whom I respect. So, why audio? Because I love to read aloud. I love to tell stories. Maybe an ancestor of mine was a traveling storyteller, who knows. Every tale begins with pencil and paper. Audio just reaches people, faster. Podcasting is the most efficient way to engage an astounding number of people. The Erotica genre, though more widely accepted now that it ever has been, still isn’t yet as openly embraced by John or Jane Public, and podcasting allows our titillating work to be present without anyone being the wiser. And many people are simply more comfortable with that right now. Part of me kinda digs that, I must admit. From car mechanics to housewives, lawmakers to med students; my voice can be heard on the job, while running errands, between classes or my personal favorite, while on the way home to a lover. And I want to give people as many erotica stories as I can.
“Books and Boners”, was my first episode recorded for the KMQ podcast and it took a tremendous amount of coaxing from my husband to pry my fixed fingers from those pages I had written and then more prodding to get me to read the story aloud, to the world. I listen now and I can hear the anxiety in my voice. Let’s face it, you say free erotica and there’s a stampede. So, I did open myself up to a shit-load of potential negative scrutiny, dare I say it? To Haters. Writers are protective over their work and I am no exception. Getting ‘trashed’ certainly isn’t my idea of fun. But, no balls, no glory. Right? I like it when I can make fear my bitch instead of the other way around.
I love to write stories that push boundaries a bit because it is the key ingredient to a really good fantasy. (As you, my dear Kay, know very well.) Titillating fantasy can make sex incredibly exciting, and there is something special about having it read to you. Luckily, the erotica community is abundant with very talented authors who feel the same. But, I am protective. My husband and I take this path very seriously, and we want to give fans the best. So, because of the incredible amount of work we invest in producing each show, when an author wants to be a part of this journey they have to be good. My fans have to be made happy. Period. I too am a consumer. I tell you, when I find a story that speaks to me, it brings me so much joy to share with everyone else. I wonder if it is my kink…
3. “Can you tell us what you are working on podcast wise at the moment?”
I would love to! Yes, please! I have just released Part Two of my short story, “Outland 1313”, so folks can sign into iTunes and download it or head on over to my web page and get it there. The next story, I have written for the KMQ is titled, “The Beacon”. It is still in the editing process and it’s definitely a change of pace from what I have been releasing lately. This story hasn’t got any aliens or voodoo involved, but rather it is about a married-but-separated man and woman that have experienced the terrible loss of a child and finally find their way back into each other’s arms. I wrote this one quite a while ago and am still taking my time with tweaks, so I will let folks know when that episode is officially down-loadable. Also, I have the honor and the privilege of hosting an Angela Caperton story titled, “Lawman”. It is a sci-fi fantasy with a Noir feel to it. Plus, it’s narrated by the incredibly talented, Lucy Malone! Somebody pinch me! I have also got KD Grace’s short story titled, “Pheromones” lined up too! Then, if you can believe it, I have received a library of books filled with delicious stories from Cleis Press for my choosing to record! I am tellin’ you, Kay; busy tastes so good! I love exposing the people to as much delicious erotica talent as I can find. Can I be the Jay-Z of audio erotica? Please?
4. “How about your own writing projects- what sort of stories are penning at the moment?”
Along with editing and recording my quickies for the KMQ, I have also been fitting in my next novella, “TOOL” for folks to purchase. I am still figuring out the artwork, and I have just been so busy that I haven’t had time to get that part completed. But it will get done! The darn thing is written, I just have to put a good face on it.
5. “I was very lucky last Christmas, to have you turn my story, Candy at Christmas, into a podcast. I was totally blown away by how brilliant you made my words sound. Do you have a favourite from all the stories (from others) that you’ve articulated? You tell me yours and I’ll tell you mine!
Aww, thanks! “Candy at Christmas” was an honor and pleasure to read, my friend, so thank you. A little pony play at Christmas… I can still hear the Christmas bells and smell the hay, hee hee! I am truly grateful to Jordan LaRousse for introducing us, many thanks Jordan! XOXO!
You mean I have to choose?!?! I couldn’t possibly. Each individual story has something that I uniquely treasure. But, since you twisted my arm and threatened with the riding crop, I will confess, Allen Dusk, who had me instantly taken by his gritty vamp-esc short, “Pixie Cut”, because it speaks to my gore-loving heart. That man can make me flinch, and that ain’t easy. His erotica sci-fi episode is titled, “Terminal Affaire” and it was the Sexy Librarian’s inaugural episode and he freaking rocked the house! The lead character named, Kinari was a smokin’ hot vixen with a job to do. I had folks emailing me immediately, asking who this Allen Dusk guy was, and would he be back. Also, I have had the privilege of reading Allen’s bloody, buggy tale, “Shady Palms”, which I very much enjoyed. Allen, my gruesome darling, you are welcome back anytime.
6. “Is there anything else you’d like to share with us today?”
Oh yeah, baby! I mean, yes. Thank you. Most recently, my biggest and proudest news is that I have completed the audio production for, “Gotta Have it: 69 Stories of Sudden Sex”, edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel, published by Cleis Press. It isn’t live for the public to buy just yet, but it will be very soon! I am telling you, Kay, I have never read so many deliciously sexy words, phrases, descriptions or scenarios for one project in my life! Oh, it was fabulous! “Gotta Have it” is packed to the hilt with a total of 69 short stories from just as many fantastic authors, including one of yours! I am really very excited about this particular project and can’t wait for it to be available. It was such a joy to read.
I have also got the audio format to The Hitman’s Woman, an urban erotic thriller, written by the super sweet Devon Vaughn Archer nearly completed, and Make Her Howl, another scrumptious werewolf tale written by the lovely, Michelle Fox as well.
Other major news is that I have decided to merge The Sexy Librarian Podcast with The Kiss Me Quicks Podcast in order to eliminate some still lingering confusion. I have been agonizing over this decision for a few months now, and it is the right move. Both formats will remain the same, I am just combining the shows into one podcast. So, all the Sexy Librarian episodes are going to be slowly moved over into The Kiss Me Quicks Podcast. It will be a ‘one-stop-shop’ for the best in audio erotica.
Well, before I wear-out my welcome, I would just like to say, once again, thank you Kay for inviting me out to your neck of the woods today. It is such a treat for me.
See You Soon!
Rose Caraway
Many many thanks Rose!! What fabulous answers!! I can’t wait to hear your narration of Gotta Have It! I have to admit that writing (and researching) The Advantages of Working From Home for that anthology was great fun!
If you’ve never visited The Sexy Librarian or Kiss Me Quick podcasts, then I thoroughly recommend you get over to both sites ASAP!!
Happy reading and listening!!

Guest Blog- Kristal Baird- Have you Heard the One About the Audiobook
A warm welcome back to my site today to one of my favourite authors- it’s Kristal Baird! Today Kristal is talking audiobooks. Over to you hun…
Hello, Kay,
Thank you for allowing me to come and share some thoughts with you and all your wonderful readers. I downloaded a few books recently in audiobook format and it got me thinking…
Have you Heard the One About the Audiobook?
When you think of a novel, as a writer or reader, do you immediately visualise print or ebook? Think again. Increasingly consumers of novels are switching to audiobook.
Busy lives & ever lengthier commuting times can make reading problematic. Who has all the time in the world to sit around and do it anymore? Cue the audiobook. Not everyone you see moving around with their headphones is listening to music. Nowadays, many more are ‘reading’ a book as they go about their lives.
The market for audiobooks is growing exponentially and it is the age of the download which has changed everything.
In the recent past, the audiobook on cassette tape & CD had a limited market appeal, but this doesn’t mean the situation isn’t altering rapidly. The highest concentration of downloaders is aged 18 – 34, a whole new generation of novel-reading consumers. Newer markets too, like India, with a massive English speaking population and a growing urban lifestyle are creating a huge demand for audiobooks. None of this is to say that traditional print forms are becoming obsolete. 90% of audiobook listeners have also bought a print book in the last 12 months. Audiobooks are an added extra and demand is growing fast.
It makes sense for publishers too. Companies can’t afford to have a warehouse of audio CDs waiting for purchasers but audio downloads, like ebooks, remain potentially ‘live’ for ever.
In the past, audiobooks came out long after the original print form of novels but nowadays consumers want to avail themselves of all possible formats so the industry is reacting rapidly. Audiobooks are now likely to launch at time of publication.
Transitory? No – audiobooks have a long tradition.
The first sizeable recording of talking books was for war blinded soldiers returning from the first World War who couldn’t read braille. But the technology goes back much further than this. Edison’s invention of the Phonograph (an early record player) in 1877 heralded the 1st recorded words – the nursery rhyme “Mary Had a Little Lamb”. Earliest recordings were on aluminium cylinders, then wax cylinders – formats that could only record a few minutes at a time.
Eventually vinyl gramophone records, played at 78rpm, saw the first full-length novels recorded in the 1930s. The initial two were Agatha Christie’s The Murder of Roger Ackroyd and Joseph Conrad’s Typhoon.
Controversy immediately arose over which books should be selected for recording. Arguments ran between educational vs entertaining; high-brow vs popular; novels with profane language vs novels without. Many consumers felt they should be able to make the decision themselves.
The Talking Books Program in the United States was in receipt of government funding and often didn’t record anything controversial for fear of losing it. In the United Kingdom, however, no such funding was in place and the policy of the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB) was to record anything and let people decide.
Any concept of the audio word being an inferior form certainly never arose in the 19th century when authors like Charles Dickens were touring Britain and the United States, giving readings of their works, to huge popular acclaim. It probably arose around the 1920s – 1930s with modernist literature whose huge demanding texts required close attention to the form on the printed page. This was exacerbated by English Departments at Universities requiring close reading of printed text. In a multi-media world, that sense of division is no longer so apparent.
Although some might see the idea of an audio speaker getting between the author and the reader, others believe it is the printed page itself which gets in the way. This is one reason that author readings remain so popular, giving direct access to the author’s own voice.
Many authors find that reading their prose aloud helps them to discover any awkward, lumpen phrases. With the explosion of the audiobook market, perhaps all authors ought to pay closer attention to the sounds they create. Some already go as far as producing text in spoken form before printing.
Next time you consider a novel, as a reader or writer, will you ‘hear’ the story in your head?
*****
It’s certainly got me thinking. Now I hope you’ll let me share a little of my latest release with you all too.

Blurb
Hayley doesn’t trust men. She thinks most of them are only good for one thing. And she gets plenty of that honey-trapping cheating husbands or satisfying her own needs with local gym owner, Reuben.
And woe-betide him if he even tries to get emotionally close to her. Because tough girl Hayley is running. From her past. From herself.
Will Reuben ever understand this girl? Will Hayley ever accept exactly who she is and what she needs from a man? Will she learn to trust again?
Excerpt
[Hayley interviews a potential client who thinks her husband is cheating on her, but she's daydreaming about last night...]
‘Go on.’ Hayley settled back in her chair. She could listen and drift away at the same time.
She drifted straight back to the gym where she’d retreated late last night, to pound a little tension out of her body. Her private arrangement with the owner allowed her to use the place long after his other customers had gone home …
‘Still running, Hayley?’
Hayley knew that Reuben had been standing behind her in the doorway between his office and the main gym hall watching her for some time. She was observant about things like that. And about his choice of words. Perhaps it was time to cancel the arrangement?
‘Still running, Reuben. Are you wanting to lock up or something?’ She kept pounding the treadmill. The angle was at full elevation and it was hard work to keep going at that speed. She didn’t want to break her stride.
‘I did that an hour since. It’s just you and me.’
She knew that tone. He moved closer but the stare was the same. It meant only one thing, and Hayley didn’t mind how she pounded the tension out of her tonight. Particularly with Reuben.
‘I’m kind of busy right now.’ Hayley liked to tease him; to keep things light between them.
He walked over to her machine. ‘Then let me help you with your workload.’ Reuben punched the controls and the incline began to slowly reduce.
Hayley adjusted her body’s forward drive and stared at him as he started to ease the pace she was running too. She’d been on the machine for nearly an hour. That was the reason she suddenly noticed her pulse rate was so high, her heart pounding. The only reason. Sweat dripped off her skin, which glowed with heat. Even between her thighs.
‘I’m a bit of a mess,’ she claimed. She was jogging steadily now, coming down gradually from her peak.
‘I like my women hot, sweaty, and out of breath.’ The tight lift at one side of his mouth told Hayley he liked his own jokes and he was hot too. For her.
She checked out the bulge in his sweats and cocked an eyebrow. Ready to rumble. ‘You’re a lucky guy, then. You’ve got a machine that does most of the work for you, getting them in that condition.’
‘Look around you. I’ve got quite a few.’ Reuben’s eyes were fixed solidly on hers. ‘Machines. Not women.’
Hayley didn’t need to look around to know what was there. Since she’d opened her private investigation office two doors down from Reuben’s Gym, she’d worked out on most of the equipment – with and without Reuben. With was a different kind of workout. And, whatever he said, there were women too. She’d seen their eyes follow Reuben about. But she wasn’t intending to make that her business. This was strictly casual.
‘Machinery? Kind of makes your job a bit too easy. What’s left for you to do?’ Hayley was off the machine and twisting the top off the bottle of water that Reuben had handed her. She tipped her head back and downed the lot in one go, needing the rehydration if she was to keep working out. Making out. And she’d already made up her mind that, tonight, she would be.
Hayley wondered if she liked coming here more for the machine workout or for the other kind of exercise she got at Reuben’s place, and if Reuben wondered too.
He stepped in closer. His body was all muscle. He didn’t just own a gym, he used it on a regular basis. In her line of work, Hayley really appreciated a fit guy. She honeytrapped plenty for her clients, and most were creeps. But Reuben wasn’t work. He was all playtime.
‘I step in for the rub-down.’ He took the empty bottle from her and flipped it across to the bin.
‘Good shot.’
Reuben’s grin told her he wanted to show her another kind of slam dunk. ‘My talents are many.’
They sure were. God, he looked sexy when he smiled. Hot body with all the defined tendons and sinews of an athlete. Great features. The complete package. It was Hayley’s turn for her mouth to twist up into a smile of appreciation. Looking sexy in a white vest and sweatpants was only the start of Reuben’s endowments.
He placed his hands on her forearms and ran them up to her shoulders. She was hot before, but now she began the slow rise to combustion as his firm fingers kneaded the tight muscles at her shoulders and ran up the length of her neck into her hairline.
Hayley reached back and pulled out the elastic that was holding her dark hair back into a tight ponytail. Reuben pushed his fingers through its length, curving around the shape of her skull beneath. She moaned softly.
‘You like that?’
She nodded, eyes half closed.
‘I can do better,’ he promised. He gathered the fabric at the hem of her T-shirt, having given her the expression that she recognised as asking her consent, and peeled it off her damp body. She let him.
The air-conditioning hit her hot, sticky skin and sent shivers dancing across it. Reuben grasped her wrist and towed her behind him towards the massage room. There was an urgency about his movements that told her he’d waited long enough; that he wanted to get her to a place where she would let him fuck her as soon as possible. The guy was hurting.
That’s why she came back to Reuben’s. He worked hard to turn things his way, but it was always her choice in the end. With the hard, muscular size of him, no matter how fit she was he could have her pinned beneath him in seconds flat. But she always knew a simple no would end matters there and then. The guy had self-control.
Unlike some of the jerks she worked with. She’d been involved in some pretty nasty encounters to get the evidence her clients needed. To prove their husbands and boyfriends were cheating, lying scum who would chase any pretty woman who looked their way, irrespective of the fact they were supposedly committed.
She could feel her tension mounting again. Reuben could probably feel it too. He threw a warm, fluffy towel on the massage bench and pressed Hayley face down towards it. She twisted her hair again into a loose knot and fixed it on top of her head.
‘I’m going to unhook your sports bra, Hayley. Is that OK?’
‘Mmm.’ It was only the beginning. The tingle in her nipples told her that tonight she was going all the way. But it wouldn’t hurt to let him wonder.
Reuben unclipped the garment with a practised hand that made Hayley smile. They had an understanding. No ties. Just a little R and R whenever they wanted it; needed it. She liked it that way.
She liked what Reuben was doing to her now too. Her nose told her he had poured warm coconut oil into the palms of his hands, which he slicked across the entire surface of her back. He started palm-circling in small movements, slowly up to her neck on one side of her spine and down to the top of her sweatpants. She could feel the tightness in her muscles soften as he worked.
Time disappeared. Perhaps she drifted off to sleep beneath Reuben’s expert hands as he went through his magic routine; lifting, knuckling, twisting. It was those sexy little thumb strokes that eventually brought her back to consciousness.
Or his gravelly voice.
‘I want to give you a full-body massage, Hayley.’ The gruff tone told her the massage was doing as much for him as it was for her. God, she liked this guy.
He was asking her permission again, to take it up a notch. No point pretending. ‘I want that too.’
They both knew he had been given approval for more than just a rubdown.
Reuben’s fingertips hooked in her waistband and he tugged her sweatpants down over her hips. She heard him moan softly as she raised her hips off the bench to accommodate him. She smiled at the silence as he discovered she wasn’t wearing panties. What was the point under sweatpants? At the gym. With Reuben.
A little more oil swirled between his hands and Reuben’s strong fingers flowed from the arch of her spine, over the rise of her lower back to the firm mounds of her buttocks and down her thighs, not stopping until they reached her lower calves. Without ceasing, they returned on their journey to her bottom again.
Her legs felt long, strong, and lean under his actions. Reuben always made her feel good about herself. So good. She parted her legs minutely.
His fingers hooked softly beneath her hip bone and he alternately pulled and pushed the heel of his hand across the muscle of her buttock, working the tight flesh loose and warm. He walked around to the other side, drawing his hand across her body, keeping contact as he went, and repeated the firm movements on the other side.
Despite the relaxing slide of his hand across her oily flesh, Hayley sensed a moment when the contact between them changed. She grew taut and tense. She felt Reuben harden too, somehow. This was it. His hand lay over the cleft of her bottom. His oily fingers dipping lower and lower between her legs. She relaxed them further apart to ease his way.
