Cynthia Sax And Happy Ever Afters
There is always much discussion about Happy Ever Afters or Happy For Nows and Romance Novels.
My stance is…
My stories ALWAYS have a Romantic Happy Ever After for the main couple (or more).
Everyone else is at risk.
I place the focus on Romantic because the world won’t be all sunshine and rainbows at the end of the story. In the Cyborg Romance world, for example, the Humanoid Alliance will continue to do bad things. Not every cyborg warrior will find their genetic match. Beings will die.
The main couple (or more) plus past main couples (or more) are the only truly ‘safe’ beings in the stories. Others are at risk. I hope none of the other cyborgs will die. Crash And Burn really hurt me as a writer. But I can’t guarantee that.
I CAN guarantee that main couples (or more) and past main couple (or more) will be safe. They will enjoy their Romantic Happy EVER Afters. Their love will last forever.

Grin And Bare Him
This cyborg will be the warrior his female requires.

Almost all of the half organic, half mechanical warriors enjoy battle. Tremendously.

Throwback Thursday – Under Strain
Being enslaved by the Humanoid Alliance and forced to do terrible things has impacted the cyborgs. Some of them are broken and will likely never be fully functional.
Strain is one of those warriors. He has a cyborg version of PTSD and he doesn’t trust himself. He definitely doesn’t feel he’s safe to be around fragile humans.
Kamyelle isn’t fragile but she IS human. She is intent on rescuing him, not knowing that the real danger is Strain.
Under Strain
A damaged cyborg warrior is huntedby a peace-loving human female.

Strain is severely malfunctioning.The D Model cyborg was the sole survivor after a horrific decision was made byhis cruel manufacturers. He hates all humans, and when he attacks one who is underhis cyborg leader’s protection, he is reprimanded, stripped of his weapons, andtold to watch and not actively participate in the next mission.
That mission takes place on a smallremote planet. Its lush terrain should only be inhabited by the cyborgs they weresent to rescue, but Strain senses another presence on the surface. She iswatching him, tracking him, hunting him.
A fully operational cyborg would endher lifespan.
Strain wants to claim her. Forever.
Kamyelle is the only one left ofher kind. Warriors have killed the other nonviolent human inhabitants of herplanet. She survived…barely…by hiding in the trees, observing her enemies, and coveringherself with lifeform scan-concealing mud.
When a handsome, gray-skinned,brilliant-blue-eyed male arrives, surrounded by weapon-carrying warriors, she hasto save him. Warriors harm and they kill. That is what they do.
She won’t allow them to hurtStrain.

Over Torque And Newsletter Snippets
If you’ve read Over Torque, my cyborg romance short story gift to you this year, you might have noticed I included a copy of all the scenes I’ve shared in my newsletter over the year.
These have NOT be edited. My Awesome Editor hasn’t seen them. As they aren’t edited before they appear in my newsletters. (sheepish grin)
Previously, I offered the snippets on BookFunnel as separate files. That was, admittedly, a confusing hot mess and it was a LOT of extra work for my current Fantastic Formatter, the Dear Wonderful Hubby.
I had to do that because certain booksellers don’t like a lot of extra material in the back of books. They ban writers permanently for doing that.
But that bookseller now also doesn’t like free short stories. I had to delete the freebie short stories I had listed there.
So now I can put as much extra material as I like at the back of short stories.
Let me know if adding the newsletter snippets at the end of Over Torque works or doesn’t work for you! If it doesn’t work, I’ll figure something else out. If it DOES work, I’ll likely (eventually) revise the earlier short stories to include snippets from their respective years also.

Over Torque
The safest place in the universe is in a cyborg’s arms.
Ceridwen has arranged transport for her and her cat on a freighter. They hope to find a new start and sanctuary on a distant planet.
That dream is blasted to bits when the Humanoid Alliance attacks the ship.

Inside that small craft are two lifeforms.

Grin And Bare Him And The Future Of A Friendship
Several reading buddies have asked me if the three friends, Grin, Strive and Raw, will be split up. Will they end up on different planets?
I’m trying not to post spoilers but…
The warrior with the strongest tie to the Homeland is Grin. And we know where he will make his home.
NONE of the warriors and NONE of their genetic matches have any close ties to either the Homeland or Mercury Minor.
And the genetic matches have left their home planets. That was for logical but different reasons.

Throwback Thursday – Dominance And Dissent
As the weather in my corner of the universe grows colder (shivers), my reading tends to skew toward romances set on hot planets. If you’re the same way, Dominance And Dissent might be the cyborg romance for it.
The story is set on a hot, dry planet. The planet has bustling marketplaces and settlements.
Dissent finds his genetic match in one of those marketplaces. While he’s seeking to free a creature from his cage, he hears a cry for help and he must answer it.
That decision will change his lifespan forever.
Dominance And Dissent
To earn the love of his curvy human, this cyborg will have to set her free.

Dissent has one primary mission—to find his female and protect her.
He doesn’t know who she is, where she’s situated, or what she looks like. That doesn’t stop him from searching the universe for her. He’s a cyborg and he’s determined. He WILL track her down.
While the J Model warrior is exploring a settlement on a merchant planet, he hears a defiant scream. Dissent has finally located the one being he’s genetically compatible with. He rushes to his little human’s side, ready and willing to defend her, eager to claim his female…forever.
Greer has only one dream—to be free. She’s been a slave her entire lifespan, has been subjected to soul-crushing abuse and pride-shredding humiliation. When an opportunity to escape presents itself, she takes it. Steps away from independence, she’s apprehended.

The Indoor Garden
The Dear Wonderful Hubby set up a growing station for me in the basement.
(His pro-tip is we don’t need special grow lights for this. Fluorescent lights with the proper lumins, etc, work perfectly fine and are super inexpensive.)
I’m happily growing some veggies over the winter.
I’m growing radishes because they are one of the fastest growing veggies, taking about 20 days from seed to harvest. I brought in the green onions and am harvesting the tops. I also planted cilantro and parsley. The Dear Wonderful Hubby feels like a billionaire when he has fresh herbs to sprinkle on food. (smiles).
I planted spinach because we have a severe lettuce and other greens shortage in my corner of the world. It is so bad restaurants are pulling salads from their menus.
I still have tomatoes that are ripening! Having fresh tomatoes in December is such a luxury!

Muse Food – Stairs To Anywhere
I LOVE stairs. Well… I love looking at stairs. I don’t like climbing up them as much. (grins)
It is the suggestion of movement that intrigues me. Stairs take us from one level to another level, one place to another place. There’s a transition and transitions are powerful in storytelling.
These stairs were spotted by the Dear Wonderful Hubby when he last toured Alcatraz. They appear older, have different levels, are quite beautiful.
With this view, they appear to be leading us into the blue sky. (smiles)

Grin And Bare Him, Euryale And Adam
In Grin And Bare Him, we meet Euryale, a human scientist, and her mysterious ‘companion’ Adam.
Many reading buddies have asked if we’ll meet Euryale and Adam again.
Yes! We’ll see them again. They SHOULD appear in Strive For Forever, the fourth story in the Cyborg Unity series. Should because…well…I never know what the cyborgs truly plan to do. They give me hints but sometimes they veer off in a completely different direction.
We will, for certain, meet back up with Euryale and Adam at some point in the cyborg world. I know that for certain.
