Dreading Easy Changes
I don’t like change. (sheepish grin) I embrace it because it is part of life, especially in these tumultuous times. But I don’t enjoy it.
I’ve been using Hootsuite to schedule my book posts on Twitter. Hootsuite has ended their free program. Their first paying tier is too complex and too expensive for my needs.
I grumbled a bit and then I decided to schedule tweets directly on Twitter.
It was easy. It took me 2 minutes to learn.
And I could schedule more than 5 tweets at a time. That is SUPER convenient.
Not all changes are hard. (grins)

Raw Desires And Speaking Another Language
In the first chapter of Raw Desires, Eirene Ours aka Cadet arrives on Taytu’s home planet.
The leader of the Rebel Cyborgs tries to speak our heroine’s language. She doesn’t use contractions or sentence fragments. Her chatter is extremely stiff and formal.
Because Eirene Ours learned the language from the databases, not from the locals.
When I learned French in school, I was taught very formal Parisian French. It wasn’t the Quebecois street slang we used outside of school. The two versions of French were extremely different and often communication issues would happen due to these differences.
Language evolves quicker than textbooks and databases can match. I keep that in mind when I travel and when I write characters from different cultures.

Throwback Thursday – Crash And Burn
Crash And Burn is the toughest story I’ve ever written.
It was necessary for the series. The events in Raw Desires wouldn’t have happened if the events in Crash And Burn hadn’t occurred. Gap’s situation changed how every cyborg warrior viewed their lifespans and searched for their potential genetic matches.
But it is definitely a three tissue read.
In my stories, main couples (and more) will always receive their happy EVER afters. Other characters are at risk.
I hope never to write another story like Crash And Burn, however. I’m still recovering, years later, from the experience. (sheepish grin) It was…a LOT.
Crash was manufactured to be one of the best warriors in the universe. The cyborg has spent many human lifespans fighting the enemy. But, unlike his battle-loving brethren, he doesn’t enjoy killing. When he escapes the Humanoid Alliance, he vows to never end another life.
Then he meets Safyre, an infuriating human female, and he considers breaking his vow.
Safyre will do anything to save her friend, the being she loves like a sister. She’ll ravish a huge hunky cyborg, kiss his best friend, and invoke scorching hot desires the male never realized he could feel. Dark soulful eyes, a quick wit, and a tempestuous passion won’t divert her from her mission.
Love, and a planet-destroying weapon, however, might stop her permanently.

March, Spring And Gardening
The first day of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere is March 20th. But, in my section of the hemisphere, the last frost date has been May 11th at the earliest.
What will be the last frost date this year? I don’t know. If I had to guess, I would say earlier than May 11th. Climate change has been hitting us hard. We had more rain than snow over the winter. It was…bizarre.
I won’t be planting much until May 11th, however, just to be cautious.
Before that date, I’ll be working on improving the soil. I’ll turn the leaf mulch and the compost, spread some manure, making the worms and insects happy.
The dandelions are already flowering, which is great for the bumblebees when they emerge from their underground homes. They’ll have a source of food.
There is much to do before planting and that gives me joy.

Muse Food – Saddle Bronc Halters
As we wait for Raw Desires, the third story in the Cyborg Unity, to release (tonight if you’ve pre-ordered this story), I thought I’d distract myself by talking about saddle bronc halters.
Yep. (grins) Saddle bronc halters.
The Dear Wonderful Hubby and I spotted this fantastic display of saddle bronc halters at South Point Casino in Vegas.
There were SO many of them.
And they all serve the same purpose. They serve as a means for the rider to hold onto the bucking horse (via a bronc rein that attaches to the halter).
Yet look at how different they are!
Whenever I worry about the cyborg warriors or the alien planets or the Humanoid Alliance baddies becoming too much alike, I can look at these saddle bronc halters and remind myself there are a gazillion ways to make them unique.

If You Wish To Re-Read Stories…
You should be able to read Raw Desires (releasing on Tuesday or, if you’ve pre-ordered it, Monday night) on its own. Sure, it is the third story in the series but I think a new-to-the-series reader can pick it up and enjoy it.
However, if you wish to re-read some stories, I would suggest, of course, starting with the first two stories in the series (Provoking Odium and Grin And Bare Him).
Seizing Power is a great story to re-read also. Eirene Ours aka Cadet appears in the first chapter of Raw Desires.
Malice and Illona from Containing Malice make an appearance.
A Retriever also shows up. So Chasing Mayhem is another great story to re-read.
Yep. (grins) Quite a few stories tie into Raw Desires. And I LOVE that.
