Seizing Power – Cover And Description Reveal
Woot! I have a cover for Seizing Power. I have also crafted a very preliminary, completely unedited book description for this story. The description will likely change as it is a tad bit long. I was too excited about this story to keep its description short and snappy. (sheepish grin)
The cover was crafted by the always awesome Amanda Kelsey from Razzle Dazzle Design. I think Power looks a bit like Data from Star Trek: The Next Generation, don’t you?
This cyborg believes he’s in control.
Power is the self-appointed leader of the cyborg council. Other members might debate situations. He makes the ultimate decisions.
When a threat to the Homeland is revealed, he takes command of a fleet and ventures to the edge of cyborg-controlled space to investigate. He finds a rebellion led by a mysterious upstart he calls Cadet.
The plan Power derives is simple—he’ll quickly quash the uprising and teach its leader a lesson the warrior will never forget.
NO ONE challenges his authority.
Eirene Ours might have been called a cadet by Power but she is NOT his subordinate. She is the arrogant E Model’s genetic match.
For much of her mature lifespan, she has desired the male, yearning for his dark-eyed gaze, craving his sure hands, longing for his respect.
That esteem was never granted. And Eirene Ours can no longer wait to earn it. There’s an external threat to their kind, a danger that might destroy them all.
Having lured Power to her home terrain, she now plans to use everything within her means – her fists, her daggers, her ship-destroying missiles – to pound that truth into her stubborn warrior’s thick metal skull.
The future of every cyborg is at stake. She can’t fail them.
Power will believe her. Or he will die.

Throwback Thursday – Warlord Reunited
Berke and Elle from Warlord Reunited remind me a bit of Cadet/Eirene Ours and Power. Both of these couples have a lengthy, emotionally-challenging history. Berke and Elle met solar cycles ago. They had a whirlwind relationship, were wildly in love.
Then Berke sent Elle away. He didn’t give her any explanation. She was too proud to ask him for one.
Until circumstances brought them back together. THAT is where Warlord Reunited starts.

This barbarian warrior’s cold demeanor hides the warmest of hearts.

Solar cycles ago, Berke, a savage Chamele Warlord, found his gerel, the one being he is destined to be with for all time…except he couldn’t embrace that fate. He was fighting a series of brutal wars.
To protect his little human female, he conveyed her far from the Chamele sector. He then returned to the endless battles, concealing his pain, his anguish, his need, under a thick layer of ice.
His gerel was safe. That was all that mattered to him.
When Elle was a young bounty hunter, she bonded with an arrogant warrior on a distant planet. She was deliriously happy…for a while. Then he dumped her in a strange settlement far from his home and left, never to return.
Their parting caused her excruciating pain—both physical and emotional. She endured it, earned the esteemed role of head bounty hunter of an academy, salvaged a bit of a life from the disaster her primitive warrior had made of it.
Now, two of her bounty hunters have made the same terrible mistake. Elle is determined to rescue her friends and break their connections with their Chamele Warlords.
While she is in the sector, she plans to kill the warrior she’d once considered hers. Elle is ending her relationship with Berke…permanently.

Reemerging From The Pandemic Cave
Last week, the Dear Wonderful Hubby went to dinner with clients for the first time since the pandemic began. Everyone in the restaurant was fully vaxxed (that’s the law in our city).
He is also attending his first post pandemic conference this month in Vegas, will be answering questions (masked) in his employer’s booth. Everyone at the conference should be fully vaxxed. Booth workers will be tested every morning.
It has been a long time since we enjoyed face-to-face meetings. I feel like one of the cyborgs emerging from an underground laboratory after many human lifespans of seclusion. Everything feels new. The sun is a bit too bright. (grins) We have to relearn the world.
But I’m also excited. There are more possibilities. Anything (preferably positive) could happen.

When we first meet Quinn, the heroine of B Free, the fourth core story in the Rebel Cyborgs series (releasing in November), she is positioned on Heze 478, a planet that has been invaded by the Humanoid Alliance and is doomed to be the site of one of their horrendous experiments.
Heze 478 is named after Heze, also known as Zeta Virginis A. Heze is one half of a binary star situated about 74 light-years from Earth’s sun. It is approximately double the size of our sun and is roughly half a billion years old.

B Free And Beings For Peace
The organization Beings For Peace makes a reappearance in B Free, the fourth core story in the Rebel Cyborgs series (releasing in November).
Beings For Peace was first mentioned in Crash And Burn. It was the organization Safyre, Tifara, and Nymphia were aligned with.
Beings For Peace is focused on rescuing beings from planets invaded by the Humanoid Alliance and other aggressors. They try to be as non-violent as possible but they WILL kill to achieve their missions.
Quinn, the heroine of B Free, reaches out to Beings For Peace for assistance with a problem. The operative they send is…well…he makes me smile (and he is very much NOT the love interest).

Cynthia Sax Weekly Update – October 3rd
Needing Valor, this year’s thank you short story (releasing in December), has been sent to my Awesome Editor! Woot! I think you’ll love this fun sexy tale. There are ‘ghosts’, an explosion, some jokes, steamy scenes. Thinking about Needing Valor makes me smile.
This upcoming week, I start writing Seizing Power, the fifth core story in the Rebel Cyborgs series (releasing in February)! I’ve been looking forward to telling this story for years, was forced to wait to do that because other events in the cyborg world had to happen first. I’m silly excited about this.

B Free, Researcher/Archaeologist Heroines And Indiana Jones
I originally believed Quinn, the heroine of B Free (releasing in November), was an Archaeologist.
But an Archaeologist, according to Dictionary.com, is “a specialist in archaeology, the scientific study of prehistoric peoples and their cultures by analysis of their artifacts, inscriptions, monuments, etc.”
Peoples are defined as humans. Quinn studies ancient humans AND humanoids situated on numerous planets across the universe (her focus is dead civilizations).
I changed her role to Researcher. That gives her some flexibility over who she studies and how she studies them.
In my heart, however, I still view her as a more socially aware, futuristic, female Indiana Jones. (grins)

Welcome To October!
October is one of my absolute favorite months.
I LOVE Halloween. I feel like a giant whenever I handle any of the treat-sized chocolate bars. I love the costumes (I sent a lobster costume to one of my sister’s dogs this year – grins). I love seeing all the neighbors’ kids all dressed up. It is a magical day.
I also love Fall/Autumn. Due to climate change, October is now when the leaves start turning gold or red or orange in my corner of the universe (a decade ago, that change started in September). It is nature’s art show and I’m here for that. The mafia squirrels are busy hiding bits of bagels on our windowsills. The fall jackets are coming out.
October, now the 10th month of the year, was once the 8th month. The number eight (ôctō) in Latin and Greek is what October is named after.
Happy birthday to all my buddies celebrating their special days this month! Happy October to everyone. (group hugs) Have an awesome month, my friends!

Throwback Thursday – The Cyborg’s Secret Baby
The Cyborg’s Secret Baby is a nod to the very real life secret baby romances that occurred during WWI, WWII and other early before-communications-improved wars. Couples (or more) would have some fun (grins) right before one or more of them left for war and that fun would have cute little consequences.
I, of course, respect and admire the warriors who left home to fight for their countries. I have as much respect and admiration, however, for the (usually) women who raised their children on their own, not knowing if their warriors would return. They’re heroines and I was thinking of them when I wrote this story.
The Cyborg’s Secret Baby
A fierce cyborg warrior and his curvy human female share a no-longer-so-little secret.
Stealth, a K Model cyborg, knows his passion for Zebrina, the commander’s human daughter, is forbidden, yet he can’t resist the curvy female. He craves her touch, cherishes her sounds of pleasure, would do anything to keep her safe.
When he’s faced with the choice of protecting his fragile human or living to see the next sunrise, he chooses her, always her, sending Zebrina halfway across the universe to safety. He doesn’t realize their stolen moments had consequences neither of them believed possible.
After hearing her warrior died in battle, Zebrina focuses on the last gift he gave her. Doing what is right for their child is her sole priority. She will put their son’s happiness first, even if that means choosing another male over the love of her life.

Why B Free Has A November Release Date
B Free, the fourth Rebel Cyborgs story, has been written and edited and loaded to booksellers. It is releasing in November.
Why is it releasing over a month from now?
Because I need to have the first draft of the next story, Seizing Power, written before B Free releases. That is necessary for my muse. If I don’t have a next story written, I freeze up. The creativity stops. I freak the heck out and then it takes me MUCH longer to write that next story.
Waiting to release a story ironically speeds up my release schedule. (grins) It ensures stories release when I tell you they will release.
Yes, it is strange but writing is a strange activity. And it is different for everyone.
