Thankful for Learning New Things

By Courtney PierceI’m thankful for many, many things in life, but I have tosay that 2021 took “being thankful” to new heights. I’ve lived throughturbulent times, not like the atrocities experienced in WW2, but close. Lockdowns, censorship, distancing, and tearing apart of the family unit in schoolshave weighed heavy on my heart. Their slave playbook is trying to rear its uglyhead in

Thankful for Romance by Kathy Coatney

What do I have to be thankful for? This is a frequent theme in my books, especially my Christmas books. Most of mycharacters face difficult challenges—some painful and some more of anannoyance, but they always have plenty to be thankful for by the end of thebook. This stems from the secondarycharacters. They're the ones who advise and encourage the hero/heroine. Theseare the

Thankful at Fifty

Hi, I'm Pippa Jay, author of sci-fi and supernatural stories to engage your emotions. And this month I am thankful to have reached fifty years of age.Not just because it means that I have (so far) survived a global pandemic. I lost my mum when she was just 43 years of age, leaving me and my sister (19 and 16) basically orphans as dad had done a runner. I am thankful that my children are of an

What is this thing called romance?

I'm serious....                           what is romance????- candle lit dinner (if at home who does the dishes, if at a restaurant is it okay to double dip in my personal ranch or does that ruin the romance?????)OR- drinks by the fire place (who brings in the wood? What if the wood is wet and it just smokes? What if there is spiders living in the wood?)     - a vase of flowers (do I try to dry

Thankyou Romance

If I didn't have 'romance' in my life, my days would be so different. Now I don't mean romance in the traditional sense of romance from my partner. I get plenty of that (I'm looking at the bunch of lilies he gave me recently as I type this). I mean the romance of books and the romance community.Romance is a part of my day, everyday. Even if I give myself a 'non-writing' day, I'm still either

Giving Thanks for All We Have ... by Delsora Lowe

It’s not Thanksgiving yet, butafter the year and a half we’ve all endured, there is so much to be thankfulfor. I mourn those who got sick and passed away or have lingering issues fromCovid. The grief will stay with all of us for a long, long time. But I amthankful that those who are close to me managed to stay healthy.I am thankful for thevaccination that means I can now get out more. I

Moving On...by Kristin Wallace

“I love moving,” said no one ever, I’m sure. In fact, moving is one of the most anxiety-driven, exhausting things you can do, as I realized this past month. After 16 years in my apartment, my roommate and I got the bright idea to look for a new place. For one thing, the apartment was getting old and many things needed to be fixed that would be hard to do with us living there. Then there’s my dog

Thankful for All God's Creatures

We've moved to a new home in northern CA.Leaving Bend, OR, I was afraid I'd not have wild animals in my yard like we did in Bend. Silly me! We have been visited by lots of animals and birds. Our little pond with the waterfall is a favorite spot for all kinds of birds. We eat dinner and watch the birds come in and take baths or for a drink. We've seen Tangers, blue birds, hummingbirds, wood

Thankful for Alaska Summers by Lynn Lovegreen

For this month’s “Thankful” theme, I considered all the things I am thankful for: family, friends, good health, and so on. I could easily write about any of those things, but I thought I’d pick something a little different.  I am thankful for living in Alaska. It’s a beautiful place, with friendly people who are often quirky individuals. This time of year, I especially love Alaska because of the
