Thank God for Coincidence
"Why is your pulse 115 beats a minute?"Not a question anyone wants to hear from their doctor. Not while sitting quietly in a chair. I was only seeing my primary care physician for a standard physical exam, one scheduled weeksin advance. I expected a prescription refill and maybe another 'polite' discussion about being overweight, and then a return home. What I received was a strong "suggestion"

The Gift of Normalcy by Eleri Grace
Like so many others, I'm thankful for good health - both my own and those I love. I have not lost anyone in this pandemic, and I pray that will continue to be the case as the Delta variant surges throughout our country. As the largest school district in the state (and one of the largest in the country) kicks off the school year in two weeks, I am so very thankful that Houston ISD has chosen to

Thankful for so Much!
By: Marcia King-Gamblewww.lovemarcia.comThank you, seems to be a much forgotten word these days. Thosetwo little words seem to have gone the way of the dinosaur. I mean, howdifficult is it to say? Call me old fashioned, but if I hold a door open foryou, at the very least you can say, “Thank you.” If I did something nice for aneighbor, like take your garbage in from the curb, then I would

Lifelines
The things I am grateful for have changed over the last yearand a half, as they have for most of us. After having to stay home more, ourfocus shifted to other things. So grateful for the gifts that my writing life has bestowed onme this past year. Couldn’t do it if it weren’t for my family and Rooby-Doo,our precocious golden retriever, who is my writing buddy. If not for them, writing

Being Thankful - and Pesky Black Holes (not necessarily related)
By Robin WeaverWhen I sawthe theme for this month’s blog, my first thought was: I’m “thankful” it’s notNovember already. This year has passed way too quickly, so fast I’m stillsearching for my Easter eggs. They saytime goes faster when you get older—not that I’m old, no matter what thedriver’s license says—but I’m going to blame the speed-up on black holecollisions.I’m guessingyou

Garden bounty...
You may find this hard to believe, but I’m thankful for my zucchini plants. I know they get a bad reputation, and urban legends abound of midnight deposits of giant zucchinis on neighbour’s front porches. But I’ve made my peace with the prolific plant. The key is to pick ‘em early and pick ‘em often, because it seems they double in size overnight. And while zucchini bread is all well and good, (

Thankful I followed the signs by Paty Jager
I can't think of anything else I do that gives me fulfillment like writing does. There were so many little things I did growing up that should have shown me my path, but I didn't see them until I was an adult. In grade school my younger brother and I would use stuffed animals like puppets. We'd put on plays for the family either using picture books we'd read from or later following scripts I

FLOWING INTO PEACE, OR, HOW I ALMOST DIDN'T WRITE THIS BLOG by Heather Michet
It's midnight on theday before my guest blog piece on Peace is due; but I missed my own declareddeadline which was the day just ended. The Mind Map loadedwith ever-increasing ideas, words and notes about Peace was started weeks agoand boy did that feel like a victory over my often, okay usual, last minutecompletion of anything with a due date, or dreadline, as I lovingly refer toit.I'd
