Freedom To Choose

Hi, I'm Pippa Jay, author of sci-fi and supernatural stories to engage your emotions. One of the things I have loved most about being an indie author is the freedom to choose what I write, when I publish, working with an editor and cover designer who I love and adore (and who has a real talent for turning my random asks on covers into something truly gorgeous and sometimes something totally

Freedom to Read by Lynn Lovegreen

This month’s theme is freedom. We have many valuable freedoms in our lives. One of the most important is our freedom to choose what we read. What speaks to you may not be my cup of tea. That’s okay. This year’s Banned Books Week was September 24 to October 2. Intellectual freedom gives us valuable opportunities to use critical thinking and have important conversations about what we read and view

Debut Romance Author Sharon Michalove

This month, debut author, Sharon Michalove, author of the Global Security Unlimited series tells her story. I create stories full of romance, suspense, and mystery. Seasoned romance where love has no age limit. Stories that prove second chances can happen, enemies can become friends, and friends can become lovers. Stories that show no two happy endings are the same. And at the core of every

Don't Fence Me In by Eleri Grace

Cole Porter's "Don't Fence Me In" is seemingly about physical freedom in a wide-open landscape, and the recording by Bing Crosby and the Andrews Sisters in late 1944 was not inspiration to the women who answered the call to duty after Pearl Harbor. But the phrase "Don't Fence Me In" is in some ways a very accurate reflection of the attitude many of the Red Cross Girls held. They were trailblazers

Let Freedom Ring!

By: Marcia King-Gamblewww.lovemarcia.comFreedom means different things to differentpeople. Freedom to me is keeping an open mind to possibilities.  Captivity does not necessarily mean being physically restrained, It means being mentally restrained as well. This condition prevents us from becoming the best that we can be.Why do I say that?  BecauseI’m a woman of color who grew up outside of

Claiming Your Personal Freedom by Bethany Bennett

OMG Ican’t write that. My mother will read it.That’s the panickedthought that ran through my head for years. YEARS. And that’s why, when youlook at the timeline of my writing, there’s a big desert of absolutely nothingbetween my mid-20’s, and 37.People ask ininterviews when I knew I wanted to be a writer. The answer? Always. My wholelife. I wrote my first full length romance novel at 15

Whose Freedom Is It Anyway

I recently heard a comedian say: Of the world’s 84 freecountries, the United States has the highest incarceration rate. Tongue-in-cheek,this funny man seriously challenged our claim to be “Home of the Free.” Iimmediately verified the statistics, and shockingly (at least to me) the US hasthe highest number of prisoners (relative to population) in the entire world.Of the adult population, 2.8%

Fall is in the Air by Paty Jager

I am enjoying the cooler weather. It means I don't have to leave the house so early in the morning to walk. The brisk air allows me to wear a sweatshirt, that usually comes off about the halfway mark. However, it  is the need for the sweatshirt when I do my chores, feeding my two horses, one donkey, two steers, and two cats, that I enjoy. It means Fall is on its way.The other day when I helped my
