My best shopping experience–EVER! by Lynn Lovegreen
I’m not a big shopper. For most of my life, I didn’t have the money to make it a habit, and I have enough souvenirs and knick-knacks. My small stature makes buying clothes a hassle. It’s hard to find something that fits, and I lose patience after the second or third try-on. But I did have one shopping experience that was surprisingly easy. A few winters ago, my husband and I were traveling to

The Bucket List I Never Knew I Had
I didn’t even know I had a bucket list, at least not until a few weeks ago. I had absolutely no idea I was about to cross a nearly impossible item off my unknown list. Don’t get me wrong. I’ve made several list-worthy achievements. I’m the first on both sides of my family to graduate college. I am a veteran eclipse chaser, travelled to the United Kingdom (I loved Scotland) South America, the

Bookstore Finds by Eleri Grace
For me, the appeal of shopping very much depends on what I'm shopping for and who I'm with. Where I once happily spent hours at the mall shopping for clothes -- by myself, with my mom and sister, with friends -- I rarely find any joy in clothes shopping for myself. I'm still happy to take my daughter shopping, but it's much more about the time with her rather than the additions to my own wardrobe

What to do with this old jacket?
by Diana McCollumMy husband and I like to spend time going through thrift shops. We have found some spectacular deals, and have bought some things that turn out to be duds.My husband likes to barter with the people, and in thrift shops you can sometimes get the cost down by quite a bit, especially if the item has sat in the store for a long period of time. Here in Paradise there's Snoop Sisters

Black Friday 1993: Need I say more? By Ann Chaney
My worst shopping experience ever.Wow! Knew immediately which shopping trip won this prize. Black Friday 1993!I don’t know how long we as a country have been staying up late or getting up super early to partake in Black Friday retail sales. I can say without hesitation I participated in this shopping frenzy one time only... 1993. I thank the Lord every Thanksgiving for Amazon Prime and online

Shopping - blech!
I dislike shopping. The trudge from shop to shop, the barrage of choice, the agony of indecision—my personal hell. Except for food shopping, which I don’t mind at all. A lady’s gotta eat. And since I enjoy cooking and baking, I also enjoy purchasing what I need in order to cook and bake. But there is a type of shopping that I love, though I hesitate to think of it as a purchase. More like an

So Much Happening! by Paty Jager
The end of summer, the start of fall. The end of hot weather (hopefully) and the start of cooler temperatures. My mind begins to think of settling in and getting writing projects finished to make the goals I set in December of last year. This year, I won't be able to settle in too deeply to the writing. September and November are busy months for me. That will leave October and December to get

Becoming a Nonfiction Children's Author
Generally when I post here it's about my romances, but I have a series of nonfiction children’s books From the Farm to the Table. They were actually the first books I self-published. The first book in the series From the Farm to the Table Dairy was inspired by an article I wrote for an ag magazine. For those who aren’t aware, I've worked as a freelance photojournalist for 35 years. I

DON'T FA'LL FOR A TECH SUPPORT SCAM!!! by Sarah Raplee
DON'T LET WHAT HAPPENED TO US HAPPEN TO YOU!Last week my husband Chuck's business computer froze right after he accepted a Facebook friend request supposedly from our college-bound grandson. A pop-up on the screen with the Microsoft logo said his Windows Defender detected a security breach and locked his computer to protect it from a hacker who was trying to steal his identity. The instructions
