Lost in Which Genre?

by Diana McCollum

Diana McCollum-- Life is often
chaotic in our home, but when I have a few hours of uninterrupted writing time, I use it, as it is a precious commodity.

A lifetime avid reader,
I enjoy creating worlds where anything is possible. I can’t help but
include an element of the paranormal in my stories, and always a happily-ever-after.

For me there

Getting Lost in a Book, and Finding the World

I was a reader long before I became a writer. I was read to
as a child, and it didn’t take long for me to qualify as a bookworm. I later
became an English teacher so reading could be part of my profession. (I also
like working with young people, so it was a natural fit.) And I still read as
many books as I can fit into my schedule. I love getting lost in books.

A good book can carry the

Lost in a Book

A Short Story by Robin Weaver

“Let me out!”

Taking a deep breath, I calculated when I’d be able to scream
again. I’d been yelling into the darkness since I’d been taken, having no idea
who’d kidnapped me. Nor why.

It had been days. I think.
Difficult to say because I’d been in constant darkness since my
abduction. I’d groped every inch of the narrow room, but could find no door. Was

Tracking, School Dynamics, Dyslexia by Paty Jager

I wish I could give you names of authors of fiction that I've read lately who took me away from my world and gave me respite from the daily grind.

But alas, the books I find myself reading the most lately are nonfiction. Though I have been reading Craig Lesley's books to discover how a Native American contemporary male thinks. I tend to read more non-fiction than fiction as I work to write books

The DNA of Military Romantic Suspense

by M. L. Buchman

I didn't set out to write MRS (Military Romantic Suspense). After over seventy titles I'm still surprised that its half of my total works and 2/3s of my income! (I also have a big swath of contemporary romance and a nice little starter kit on SF/F and Thrillers.)

THE START
The fact that I arrived her completely by accident is simply part of the punchline. I was working on my

Getting Lost in A Book or Not

Judith Ashley is the author of The Sacred Women’s Circle series, romantic fiction that honors spiritual traditions that nurture the soul.

Before I made the decision to be indie published, I read
blogs and listened to agents and editors talk about what they were looking for
in the submissions they read.

Characters that readers would love, root for, identify
with. (Yes, I know dangling

Stories I Become Immersed in by Dora Bramden

With pen in hand, I could be scribbling in my notebook while laying on my cozy bed or on a windy beach with waves crashing around me. In my head, I’m in an Italian palazzo overlooking Lake Como or slipping and sliding on Hadrian’s Wall in the UK because I’m living vicariously through the characters in the book I’m writing. The wonderful thing is, it’s a complete break from my everyday life, and
