Welcome Cheryl Wright, Contemporary Western Romance Author
Until fourteen months ago, I was contracted with a
publisher, and writing one romantic suspense novel every 1-2 years. The books
were both character and plot driven and took a long time to write.
I’ve always been an avid reader of both romantic
suspense and cowboy stories, but it never once entered my mind to write the
latter.
Nor did I consider the fact I grew up with horses, and

My Different Smiles
Judith Ashley is
the author of The Sacred Women’s Circle series, romantic fiction that honors
spiritual practices that nourish the soul and celebrates the journey from
relationship to romance.
When the Blog Queens were putting the 2018 topics and
themes together, they were very clear they wanted April to be particularly
uplifting, light and, if possible, funny. I will admit our April topic “

City Girl or Country?
I have always felt about the country as Jane Austen’s Mr Bingley. When I’m in the city I love it, when I’m in
the country I think I could never leave. Being a Piscean, it figures, we have
wide ranging tastes. I like the beach and the bush, the fast paced city life
and the calmer quiet of a country town. But I think it’s also something to do
with having been exposed at a young age to both

The Thing that Makes Everyone Smile
By Robin Weaver
What ”always” makes
people smile? Muscles.
If you’ve read
any of my blogs, I’m sure you aren’t the least surprised I didn’t say babies,
kittens, pizza, or puppies—although those things do make my chipmunk cheeks do
the happy squirrel dance.
I’m also sure
you’ve heard the saying: It takes 43 muscles to frown and only17 to smile. That’s
not exactly correct though.

What Makes Me Smile by Paty Jager
Buttercups make me smile. They are the first wildflower to pop their heads up on the hills around us in the spring. When their shiny yellow petals dot the hillside it means Spring is around the corner.

Making things with my hands brings a smile to my face. I like to sew, made things with wood, and lately I've tried my hand at pottery to better

SOLDIERS CAN MAKE GREAT HEROINES!
By Linda Lovely
Many romantic
suspense novels feature military men as heroes. A much smaller percentage
feature military heroines. However, since I’m a woman, I find I’m much more
comfortable writing a heroine than a hero as my main character. It’s easier for
me to tap into my female character’s emotions, self-doubts, and strengths. I
also find the dialogue (especially the snarky humor) much

I was lost...
...and now I'm really lost!
by M. L. Buchman
I love the world of the book. I slip into it and time disappears. I love the comfort, like an old pair of slippers.
FLUNKING OUT OF THIRD GRADE
I nearly flunked out of reading because of this habit. When I hit third grade, I was still reading Winnie the Pooh. Regrettably (or perhaps fortunately), the teacher was a friend of the family and knew how

Hook Me Like Velcro
By Courtney Pierce
The burn of a good book is hard to beat. I’ll obsess about
an engrossing story throughout the day: even while lathering up in the shower,
retrieving the mail, or getting ready for work. If the book is part of a
series, especially a trilogy, then it’s even better. The whole saga has a
perfect beginning, middle, and end, and the plot has gobs of character
development. A writer
