Celebrating Indie Bookstores by Peggy Jaeger
It's no secret that writers are readers first. I know I was - and still am.
As a child, before I had disposable income of my own, I got all my books from the local library. It was wonderful to be able to stop by any day and take out a number of books to read. The one drawback? I had to return them. I really wanted to keep them, too, but couldn't.
Flash forward to the time when I began making

Celebrate! Celebrate! It's Our Birthday
Hi, I’m Judith Ashley, author
of The Sacred Women’s Circle series, soul nourishing romantic women’s fiction
that honors pagan spiritual practices. My stories show you what life could be
like if you had a place like The Circle where you are unconditionally accepted,
supported and loved. And where, with this support, you do overcome obstacles and
find your happily-ever-after.

Authoring Can Be Fun When Writing’s a Chore
By Linda Lovely
I’m practicing social
distancing and staying inside the confines of my house and yard. The sole
exceptions are long walks with my husband to enjoy the spring sunshine.
What do I miss most in my
COVID-19 reality? Getting together with far-flung family for celebrations, gabbing
with fellow authors and critique partners in person, and planning lunches and outings

An Unexpected Gift
By Courtney Pierce
My writing is an extension of me. Little did I know the positive effect being an author would have on the relationship with my family, especially with my older sister Debbie. We hadn't been particularly close since our teenage years. Life and careers got in the way and set us on parallel tracks. We saw each other at family birthday celebrations, but those visits amounted

What a crazy few years! by Bronwen Evans
Hi everyone
Waving from lockdown in New Zealand. Thank you, Judith and Sarah, for inviting me back to Romancing the
Genres. I haven’t been with the blog for a while (I don’t blog much at all
anywhere actually) and it’s fun to look back and take
a moment to review what I’ve been up to as often we don’t look back. I’m up to
27 books published now and the list is growing. I never thought that

Long ago, in a publishing world far, far away....by Peggy Jaeger
This month's topic prompt: share your favorite or most stressful writing achievement, was a hard one for me because I couldn't decide which would make the better story: something positive, or negative.
The negative one I had in mind would certainly have been funnier. Truly. It was a lesson in humility, patience, and karma all rolled into one.
But there's so much negative stuff in the Universe

Creative life and mojo at 40 plus
By Cassandra O'Leary
Author's Note: I first wrote this blog in 2016 when my debut novel was released. Now I have a few more draft books under my belt, but I'm still working on juggling work/life/health and getting more work completed. The current quarantine and home school situation just makes everything more complicated!

The Evolving Writer's Office
by M. L. Buchman
I was recently asked about my writer's office.
Last week I had a Zoom meeting with one of my writer's groups (we normally meet monthly over brunch), and we had a chance to see each other's offices for the first time. One was a beautiful, wood paneled space with art on the walls, another was a dining room table (because of other things happening in his normal office at the

Favorite AND Most Challenging First in Writing ... by Delsora Lowe
I have a
first book ever written (2001), along with many written full manuscripts, still
sitting under my bed. But my first book to be published was The Legacy of
Parkers Point, released in 2016. My novella, published in an anthology (Welcome
to Serenity Harbor), was part of a compilation of novellas by members
of the Maine Romance Writers. As one of the project managers on this project, I

Coping by Baking....by Kristin Wallace
What a difference a month makes. What a different world we live in now thanks to this awful pandemic that has impacted so many countries. Depending on where you live, you’ve probably been in “lockdown” mode for several weeks. Where I live in Miami it’s been over 3 weeks. Only going out for the store or for walks to get some air. I’ve been freelancing for the past several years so staying home
