In Search of the Princess
I miss "My Maria" and her "Blue Spanish Eyes" so I went searching to see if I could find her. I started at the beach, but sand was kicked in my face then someone yelled out there's a "Shark in the Water" so I left and got "On the Road Again" and went down to the "Dock by the Bay" but I could not find a parking place so I decided that "I'm Heading Home" to see if she was there, but she was "Already Gone" so I went out to the pool and fell asleep. I dreamed that I was "Waking up in Vegas"...

Tears of an Angel kdbrogdon (coming soon)
Sadness creeps into the hearts of the Heavenly Angels as their eyes fill with tears that shower down upon this earth, washing away the smiles that the sun has sent this day.

TEARS OF AN ANGEL
A Texas Ranger – A Rough Rider
An American Hero
San Antonio, Summer 1870
The only thing worse than the hot Texas sun beating down on you is; well it is the hot Texas sun beating down on you in the middle of July. You can see the heat waves chasing each other across the open plains as if playing a game on your eyes and in your mind. In the distance you hear the whistle of a steam locomotive screaming for water as it nears the depot.
The train depot is usually located on the...

In the Shadows of Heros
I have had the honor and privilege of walking in the shadows of heroes for the past twenty-five plus years. I have seen a fifty-two year old police corporal scale a chain link fence and disarm a twenty something year old woman of a nine millimeter pistol before she could commit suicide. I witnessed a police officer kick in the front door of a burning house and carry a ninety year old lady safely from her smoke-filled home. I saw a young police officer run up the exterior stairs of a...

Los Angeles Festival of Books 4/2010
I'm really not the type of person who likes media attention, or any attention as far as that goes so you can imagine my reaction to having to appear at the LA Festival of Books for a book signing event. Well I get up early on Friday the 23rd and head over to my usual early morning spot. I walk through the door and there are five of my friends there, they were there before the hired help!! Well Mary is there and she greets me with the all familiar, "Hi Buddy." I have known Mary for twenty ...

Costa Rica – Reflections
Golfing with friends is always a treat especially when you have the opportunity to visit a country like Costa Rica and partake in the beauty that nature has laid before you. We hire two caddies to assist in our adventure, however this day these two adventurers will be guides in our quest to explore the entire countryside. We mount our range rovers and move out into rolling plains guarded on each side by the Central American jungles. The elevation is some 5,000 feet above sea level so we...

Cuba
Good news of the Day: I have passed two steps in my attempts to travel to Santiago, Cuba to complete some research for my next book, El Diablo Blanco (Tampa Heights to San Juan Heights). INS told me to have fun. Cuba says please come, we would love to show you the dedications that we have made to the Rough Riders. US State Department says "Is this a commerical endeavor?"
LOL… EDB is part two of my novel that tells the story of our hero, A Texas Ranger who answers a call for glory with...

Texas Orphan Train
I am working hard on my next book, Texas Orphan Train. I'm about ninety percent complete. El Diablo Blanco and Destiny will soon follow. I hope to have all three out by next November, 2010… I really enjoy writing historical fiction, it is the business of writing that I am not fond of. My idea is to have three short stories about one-hundred pages each, The Panamanian Princess, Texas Orphan Train, and El Diablo Blanco. A paper back that you can read over a weekend and not over four...
