Mimosa Flowers
Mimosa Flowers, were mentioned in Empty Crown.
HeHuan, the deity, is a manifestation of such a tree/flower. She is a deity in the heavens, a mimosa tree spirit, growing just outside the cave, where she meets JinYuan, who is a metal spirit. They both manifest around the same time and become each other’s best friends.
She is a yellow mimosa flower tree (as per the image). I choose yellow, because she exudes this positive vibe and aura around her. Always so kind and eager to help.

Empty Crown
Photo by Harriet B. on Pexels.comMy debut novel: Empty Crown is launching soon (eBook as at 1st Nov 2023) and I am super excited about it (and nervous too). How can’t I not be?! It’s like seeing my little baby grow up and as I equipped my child with everything it needs (characters, compelling plot, etc) to announce it for the world to see.
Anyway as a proud parent, I would like to explain a bit what’s it about.
Empty Crown blur the lines of good and evil, what it seems to be, isn’t what it seems to be. Putting humans and human nature to the test.
Will humans learn from mistake? Would they make a different choice?
Are they really willing to sacrifice?
Are humans selfish?
Is deities/gods really selfless? Do they really not harbor a tiny or even a slight love for just one person? Do they really love everyone equally as a magnanimous being?
There are many questions, contradictions, ideas that were being explored as I write this story. And I hope that the words/story would convey these thoughts to the readers.

Dessert Royal
I should have reviewed this one first and then the one title Princess More Tears to Cry. This is supposed to be the second book. I didn’t know how I make that mistake Haha.
The second book talked more about her life, her children and how it all started, her journey to help other women who were in need of help. The struggles she had, before arriving to her goal/objective.
I really like those last few chapters, not the horrible encounter suffered by others but how it spark the will in her to help others and finding a goal in life. How she stood up since not everyone will, even in her family. I really admire her tenacity and personality, to do what’s right (and with help from her husband, sisters and also her children).
But the tone of my voice silenced Kareem’s objection. “It is our business! I do not care how much money Shadi paid for Veena, Kareem. No woman should be the property of any man against her will ad he certainly has no right to rape and abuse her!”

I really love this series. I wish there’s a fourth installment for this. It’s really great.

Ebook Upload 6
I thought everything was good until I received an email about some quality issues for Empty Crown eBook. I logged in and checked and saw this.
So if you see this notication, don’t worry, just calmly read what needs to be done and followed up. For me it says that I have a category issues so I will edit and resubmit this part.
Hopefully everything goes well. (Fingers crossed again).

Ebook Upload 5
Last part – PRICING! So here’s what I decided for the eBook.
I enrolled myself in KDP select, it’s not showing here I have already click on the enrollment. And here’s a little something about KDP Select :
What is KDP Select?If you choose to make your book exclusive to the Kindle Store for at least 90 days by enrolling in KDP Select, your book will also be included in Kindle Unlimited (KU) and the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library (KOLL). You can earn a share of the KDP Select Global Fund based on how pages KU or KOLL customers read of your book (learn how payments are calculated). Enrolling in KDP Select also grants you access to promotional tools such as Kindle Countdown Deals and Free Book Promotions. You can enroll a single book, your whole catalog or anything in between.

It depends on your own target but you will get as per below campaigns/promotional tools as they mentioned (can only be access when your book is released though, so I can’t see/set anything yet).
It’s not the most expensive, I choose 70% royalty and setting the ebook price at @USD 4.99 I think it’s a reasonable pricing.
Last just click that button, ‘Submit for Pre-order’ and you are done!
All the steps are done, and I am so thrilled as my eBook is now successfully uploaded (okay not so much since I still have to wait another 72 hours (Yes, you gotta wait for 3 days but it took around 2 days for me). But hey, I am done with the eBook. Now, the next step is to work on the paperback version. However, I’m currently awaiting the ISBN, so I won’t be able to begin just yet. I hope to receive it soon. I can hardly wait to hold the paperback book in my hands—it’s a dream come true for me!
*Note : After you submit for the review – You wouldn’t be able to edit anything, so make sure that ready is editing/amended to your liking/preference before clicking on that button.
So that’s it folks. I finally done it and you can do it too!
Don’t give up. You will and can become an author. Don’t lose hope.!
My book is now up for pre-order and will officially launch on 1st of November.

Ebook Upload 4
Now it’s the uploading part. May everything go well for you. Haha, I hope so as I didn’t have much issues with this part.
Click on the ‘Upload eBook manuscript’ button and then go to the next steps (again just ignore the screenshot since I am redoing the images for explanation).
Select your .kpf/.epub file and then wait for a while your file will show (as per above screenshot) where it will state that your upload is successful (or whether if it’s fail. But KDP doesn’t recommend using .epub files as shown below). So, I recommend to just upload your .kpf file in the beginning.
Select your book cover, and this is new for me, KDP will ask whether your are using any ‘AI-Generated Content’ as per below. Since I created my book cover and also crafted my own story without relying on AI, I select ‘No’ as per below sceenshots.
Since eBook doesn’t require any ISBN, I just left it as blank (if you have one, then you can fill in below)
And for the preview – select ‘Launch Previewer’ button below, for checking.
You can check through one more round for any issues with your eBook before moving to the next step.
Click on ‘Quality’ on the upper right corner to see the lists of issues detected by KDP, since I didn’t have any, there’s isn’t any to show so I proceeded to ‘Back’ and select ‘Save and Continue’ to move onto pricing.
It was a breeze for me, maybe since I did a lot of checking etc offline/Kindle Create so there’s are less issues over the upload.
