Guest Post!

This week Emily Ann Benedict is featuring my latest book review on her blog, Mystery Writer on A Mission. We've been following each other's work for several years now. She has a special fondness for mystery, romantic comedy, and anything Jane Austen related.

Find out what I have to say about Chosen Ones (Book One of the Aedyn Chronicles), and be sure to check out her awesome site as well. Comments are always welcome!

Winner!

And the Winner is . . .
Tatiana!!

Many thanks to all of you for casting your votes!

The story in which she appears, "Medvale and Munseldorp," became longer than I originally planned. It expanded the Milland world so much that I have returned to the original novella, "Millhaven Castle," and am slowly developing the whole thing into a novel. More details on that in the months ahead. In any case, whenever I release the story and in whatever form it takes, Princess Tatiana will definitely appe...

More Votes Needed!

With a week to go until the final results are announced, two names are TIED for the lead!

"Tatiana" and "Tess" are equally popular with 46% of the vote each. "Tillie" lags behind and apparently "Trudy" didn't strike anyone's fancy. :P I didn't anticipate two names being so close, but it makes for a little additional excitement.

If you haven't voted or know someone who might like to participate, now's the time! Winner will be announced on October 1, unless the tie persists, in which case I will...

New Poll (Vote Now!)

This is the daughter of the King of South Blensia. She appears in the new sequel to Millhaven Castle, which is about two-thirds complete. I wasn't sure what to name her, so I decided to have a reader poll. The name with the most votes will appear in the finished story!

Visit the blog now to vote. Your choice could be the finalist!

Review: The Frog Who Would Be Prince by Norm DaPloom

Genre: Children's Fantasy
Rating: G
Currently only available on the Kindle

I don’t typically enjoy stories with dragons, pirates, or witches in them, so it was a bit risky for me to try The Frog Who Would Be Prince. However, once I started reading, I couldn’t stop. The book was just too cute and funny to put down.
A boy named Tom, who believes his prince has been turned into a frog, travels to the cave of an elderly, bored dragon. He hopes the dragon will reverse the enchantment, but he doe...

A Rainbow to Remember

This Sunday we had a rainstorm ( a rare thing in July and a blessing after last year's drought.) After going to evening church, I came home and caught this fantastic rainbow on video. In the first part I'm under the porch, but afterwards I move out and the whole rainbow is visible.

I've never seen such a complete, perfect rainbow in my whole life. My family was equally wowed. I am continually grateful for the wonderful landscape around me. It is amazing to just walk outside and see the fields...

Review: Cherry Blossoms in Twilight: Memories of a Japanese Girl by Yaeko Sugama-Weldon and Linda E. Austin

Genre: Memoir

Rating: G

Available in paperback and Kindle ebook

The most important ingredient in any good memoir is simply having a noteworthy life to record. Ms. Sugama-Weldon's book, co-written with her daughter Linda Emiko Austin, is certainly filled with colorful experiences.

It is divided into four sections detailing her childhood, education, struggles during WWII, and later marriage and move to the United States. The paperback book includes illustrations and samples of Japanese songs, which...
