Just Because I Want to Know . . .
I thought I'd ask my friends.
WHAT IS PINTEREST?
I've been receiving constant hints that this site is out there. Some of my friends insert pictures from Pinterest into their posts--others do things on Facebook that show a Pinterest affiliation. Finally my sister, who is on the site, told me it is for posting pages of pictures. I'm still a little confused . . . and wondering, of course, if I need to get a Pinterest.
If any of you are on Pinterest, please tell me how the site is useful to you. Do...

Flight of the Outcasts and Darkness Shall Fall (The Aedyn Chronicles Books 2 and 3) by Alister McGrath

Genre: YA/Middle Grade Fantasy Formats: Paperback, Hardcover, Kindle
In October I reviewed the first book in the Aedyn Chronicles, Chosen Ones. I was impressed by this book and immediately requested the sequels on inter-library loan. Because Flight of the Outcasts and Darkness Shall Fall are so closely linked—Outcasts ends abruptly, with no closure, and Darkness resumes right where the story left off—I will review them in one post.
In Flight o...

The Perfect Gift
Here at last are the promised pictures of my Bears necklace (a Christmas gift from my dear sisters.) I've been so busy I haven't had time before. They aren't the best pics because they were taken quickly, but I've been talking so much about this gift it's probably time you guys saw it. :P
It's reversible. One side has the Bears logo surrounded by crystals--the other side has just the crystals. My sisters looked long and hard for this item. It's hard to find any Bears jewelry at all and what do...

I'm Being Interviewed!
My friend Elizabeth Kaiser is interviewing me this Tuesday. This is the first of two appearances I will make on her blog. This one covers me as a writer--what I write, how I write, and why I write. The second installment will appear later, and will be a bit more personal, showcasing my tastes, opinions, and peeves as a reader of fiction. So if you've been dying to know more secrets about me, now's the chance to hop on over to E Kaiser Writes A Blog and get to know me better!

As Thanksgiving Approaches . . .

The Kindle version of Facets of Fantasy: Collector's Edition is now priced at $.99. If you've been wanting to give it to someone on your list--or download it for yourself--now is the perfect time.
I have nearly completed the third draft of a children's novel based on the second story in the book, "The Trouble with Taranui," and I'm planning two more Alyce stories to follow The Sherban Girl. You can be sure I'll keep you updated in the weeks ahead.
In the meantime, I'll take a little time off f...

The First Novel

It's a special feeling of accomplishment, completing that first novel. This is especially the case with me. I've really struggled over the past decade to organize and formulate my ideas into a fleshed-out narrative long enough to call a novel. Early this year I was able to complete two stories which might qualify as novels for the children's market I had in mind. But this, at 77,000 words and over 200 manuscript pages, is my first real novel.
As those of you who have been following me are awar...
