Sherlock Holmes, smoking crack!

The new Sherlock Homes movie was a very well done, action oriented movie.  I will say up front that I am biased to Robert Downey Junior.  Ever since "Less than Zero" when he played the out of touch with reality drug addict gone bad, I have been amazed at his acting skills.  I will say if you take Tony Stark from "Iron Man", give him a pipe and fill him with drugs, then send him back in time, you basically have the same character.  There isn't a lot of deviation from one to the other.  Damn...

Natalia Salloum, Egyptian cotton at its finest!

What do you get when you cross a Cuban and an Egyptian?  Now I am not talking about bedding, although I do love sheets made from Egyptian cotton.  I admittedly have no idea what that means but when you get a high thread count and it says Egyptian cotton it somehow just feels better on my bare naked butt.  Yes, that is right people.  I sleep naked.  Wait a minute.  No I don't.  I actually sleep in my underwear.  Damn, I could probably be saving a lot of money.  Do they make underwear from...

The Thing about life is that one Day You'll be Dead!

"The Thing about life is that one Day You'll be Dead" is the book by David Shields, the balding, middle aged writer who has pain in several parts of his body and is coming face to face with the one thing every man, woman and child on the planet shares, death.  No matter how rich, or how poor, how gorgeous or how hideous, we all die.  It is just the natural way of things.  The circle of life is the inevitability that everyone must come to terms with.  Some of us gracefully and some of us...

Model Competition, DD++ need only apply!

Are you a size DD or larger?  If you happen to be well endowed then this might be your lucky day.  BraStop.com has launched their annual competition, Star in a Bra for 2010 and they are looking for a curvy babe to fill their lead role.  The winner spends the year as the face of Curvy Kate, a lingerie company specializing in bra sizes that are all about more than a handful.  I guess it depends on the size of your hands.  I have average size hands and a DD or bigger would be overflowing, or at ...

Taking the Plunge

Jumping off a thirty-five foot cliff into the rapids of a waterfall can make you feel like Tarzan. After an hour of watching the local teenage boys jump from various heights to the churning water below, I decided to take the plunge myself. A part of me wanted to do it because it looked like a thrilling experience (and it was), and a part of me wanted to simply show the boys that a girl could do it, too.

Of course, I took a bit longer than the local boys did. My friend, Randy, and I scaled the ...

Did you hear about the Morgans!

You always know you are in trouble with a movie when the best lines are all in the commercial.  I like Sarah Jessica Parker and despite the bad press and the back alley uplifting from Hugh Grant, I actually enjoy him as well.  I think the movie started out with an overused premise and the backdrop cliché of a fish out of water.  It isn't a bad foundation and I am sure we will see many more movies with this as a building block, but this one fell far short, lacking any form of sincerity.

Paul...

Missy Robinson, where is photography headed?

As all of our blogs posts, this one consists of two things.  A hot model, introduce Missy Robison here, and some form of news highlight.  In this case a recent article in The New York Times discussing the status of photography and where it might be headed.  Interestingly enough we wouldn't even know about Missy Robinson if it weren't for photographers.  I guess in reverse, we would know about fare fewer photographers if it were not for women like Missy Robinson.

I wonder how many photographs, ...

Katie Lohmann, Hot at any age!

At thirty years old, Katie Lohmann is hot.  Damn, most twenty year old women do not measure up to Katie Lohmann.  Most women of any age do not measure up to Katie Lohmann.  Sorry, I am just stating the facts as we used to hear in "Dragnet".  I have no idea what the age expectancy of a model might be.  When do you start feeling the pressure of getting old?  What does it mean to be a model as you enter your thirties?  The life expectancy for football players, if I remember correctly, is...

Testimony

"Testimony", a book by Anita Shreve.

I want to give enough positives so you will be intrigued enough to read this book, but not set expectations so high that you will think it is fantastic.  Not sure how to walk this balancing act.  The story in "Testimony" is fantastic.  If you think of the ripple affect you will have an idea where Anita Shreve is taking you.  It is amazingly intertwined and gives a realistic depiction of how all of our lives are so delicately balanced.  The delivery is...

The Lost Symbol

I wanted to write, been there done that.  How many times can Robert Langdon find himself getting mixed up in some form of religious symbolic turmoil?  Still, if you forget about the previous editions and concentrate on this book alone, it is, as all of Dan Brown's books are, very entertaining.  He weaves the story, adding in factual data in such a gifted way that it keeps you turning the pages, up until the end that is.  The last thirty or so pages made me wonder why in the world I was still ...
