Taking a little break from tweaking the typography of the entire word and just playing around with a couple, of which the capital W is the first, and the little n the last (there isn't actually an m in the word). I'll probably start over with all the other letters: the a, the l, the k, the t, the h, the o…

This big red troll/ogre/giant was going to be a lot more like the fourth sketch; in profile/silhouette and standing still. But no, it turned out to be an exercise in comic-booky action perspective! The red that was going to be his heart turned into the red that is now his skin (I also have two Hellboy action figures on my desk who were undoubtedly exerting their influence). I should really put something in there to give the whole thing some scale….
.
I don't think I'd use this red dude for my Heartless Troll story, but it was good fun to draw. The last (roughedy-rough-rough) sketch, however, is much more in line with my thoughts on the character. Corel Painter crashed before I could save the file, but I was able to hit "Print Screen" before it went completely bananas (so disregard the HEA). It isn't as if it'll be difficult to recreate :o)
