Watch Sheila Roberts’ new Merry Ex-Mas Music Video!

This is soooooo cute!

A song developed from Sheila Roberts’ new novel, “Merry Ex-Mas” (November 2012). This song was “written” by Jake O’Brien, a main character in the book. In the story, the music video of the song goes viral on YouTube and gets Jake in lots of trouble with his ex mother-in-law and his estranged wife. No mothers-in-law were harmed in the filming of this video. But poor Santa did get a hernia.

Sheila will be on virtual book tour with her book, Merry Ex-Mas in November! Clic...

Hurricane Sandy Aftermath on Chincoteague Island

It’s 7:42 in the morning. I am so behind in work and will be playing catch up the next four days until November tours start. I emailed all of my authors before my power was shut down so I think they understand.

I didn’t sleep well again last night. No excuse, we finally had power and so we had heat but the dogs were still restless which kept waking me up.

The last two days have been a nightmare. I want to forget; yet something keeps telling me to write all this down. The island is a wreck....

Hurricane Sandy is here

Frankenstorm is here. I’ve got a few pictures to show you. The worse still hasn’t come yet – that’s in the window of noon and 8 or 9 p.m. tonight I think but so far it’s been a test between losing your sanity and keeping it all together. The water has come over the road, flooded the front yard and up on the carport. Not sure if it has gone into my little storage room down there but there are sandbags in front of it. We carried out most of the stuff from there last night – mainly cardboard...

Hurricane Sandy – Not an adventure on my bucket list

I’m sitting here on the eve of Hurricane Sandy making her grand debut on my weary island. I’m tired. We knew it was coming and all today we tried to put it out of our minds. I worked on tours like a banshee knowing I might be without power. I have authors who trust me to put a tour together for them and I don’t want to betray their trust.

It’s kind of eerie you know? Spiders are running rampant under the carport, dashing into the house once we open the door. They did this last time with Hu...

Market Yourself Before Your Book is Published {Video}

I absolutely love this video. Did you know that Justin Bieber was discovered at YouTube? Watch his very first YouTube video here…cute little darlin’ isn’t he? Did you know that you can simply video yourself with a simple digital camera talking about your book like I do at Pump Up Your Book, load it on YouTube and be discovered yourself? Not only can you be discovered by potential book buyers but maybe a representative from one of The Big Six publishing houses?

Yes, it’s true.

It’s all about...
