Disclaimer: A reminder that we are speaking to flirts newbies as well as eco/kind living veterans so we have to be mindful of that. I don't ever want to turn flirts/newbies away because everything feels too hard to do or doomed.  There are amazing alternatives to all the icky stuff out there and while it's not the perfect answer it's the best answer I've found so far.

I recently came across www.lucidfood.com which is Louisa Shafia's blog.  Louisa has cooked at lots of great vegan restaurants and also helped open one of my favorite spots in NY Pure Food and Wine.  She's written books teaches cooking classes and gives lectures.  Lucid Food is all about bringing earth-friendly practices to the world of fine catering.

However Louisa is not strictly vegan or even vegetarian and some of her recipes include meat... so beware if you browse her website for recipes...

one day without shoes

Today April 8th is One Day Without Shoes a Tom's Shoes campaign.  Tom's is asking people to go the day part of the day or even a few minutes without shoes to see what it's like to live without them and to help spread awareness of how one pair of shoes can change a child's life.

I'm not saying that every single person needs to wear shoes.  If someone doesn't wear them it doesn't necessarily mean they must have them.  It's sort of a rich man's idea that you have to have shoes. ...

I want to introduce you to my friend who I love so much Alex Keeling Thompson.  She is guest blogging about sheets she recommended to me!  Alex is a fashion stylist.  We met on an Entertainment Weekly cover shoot for Miss Match years ago.  We started working together after that because I was going to the Emmys and the Golden Globes that year. I was nominated for a Golden Globe so I had to look fab.  Alex is great with clothes and style.

"Alicia and I have been apart a lot with her being in New York for her play.  One thing that always keeps me from not getting too sad are our dogs.  Not only do they make me laugh and smile cause of the things they do but when I miss Alicia the most feeling their heartbeats breath and warmth really makes me feel calm and good.
